    Very relaxing video! Can you let me know when you went to Yufuin? Planning a trip there but want it warmer

      Hi, thank you! 😁 I visited early March (a week before cherry blossom season) so it was slightly cold in the early mornings and evening but relatively warm and comfortable midday.

    Thanks for your video! I really enjoyed it! Is yufuin really nice for a couple of nights or is it more of a daytrip? Is there more to see still or did you cover what you wanted to see, like the ghibli stuff. Im hoping to combine going there and seeing beppu the day after or before.

      Hi @Boomdizzle99 Thank you! If you love onsens and prefer a quiet, rural area, Yufuin might be worth an overnight stay. It's very laid back once you escape the main tourist spot. Plus, Lake Kinrin is stunning early in the morning.
      However, if you only want to see the tourist areas, then a day trip is fine. Also, the shopping streets are more extensive than what I showed. :) As far as sightseeing though, there's probably more to see and do in Beppu.

    How did you buy tickets for this train? Can i purchase it outside of thr jr pass? Thanks!

    • @artscribbler
      @artscribbler  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sarrah, the Yufuin no Mori train is free when you have the JR Pass so it’s more economical to go that route.
      But, if you’re not planning to get a JR Pass or it doesn’t work for your travel plans, you can try purchasing tickets at a JR Ticket Window once in Japan. But, it might be harder to get tickets and seats for the Yufuin No Mori train specifically because they book out weeks or months ahead.
      If you don’t mind not taking the Yufuin No Mori train, there are other Limited Express trains that go to Yufuin from Hakata/Fukuoka and those have non reserve seats available making them less likely to book out. 🙂 Hope this helps!

    Great relaxing video :) Just wondering , how far does it take to walk from Yufui station to the village, or do you take a bus? And how do you book the Yufuin no Mori train, and how far in advance would you need to do so? It seems very popular...

    • @artscribbler

      Thank you! ❤️
      From the station, it’ll take about 15 minutes on foot to reach the village and another 5 mins or so to the lake. I don’t know if there’s a bus because everyone just walked. 😅 A few did have cars. If you’re carrying luggage, you can leave it at the tourist center - the building at the right side of Yufuin station, so you won’t have to lug it around.
      To book the Yufuin No Mori, you need to purchase a JR Pass that covers Yufuin or purchase one way / round trip tickets.
      Once you have train tickets, you need to purchase separate seat reservations for the Yufuin No Mori train because they’re only by reservation, no walk-ins available.
      I got my Kyushu JR pass from Klook (link in description) and then using their voucher number, purchased seat reservation for the train online at kyushurailpass.jrkyushu.co.jp
      You can also get seat reservations at the JR counters in Japan but because the Yufuin no Mori is popular, the seats often book out months and weeks in advance.
      I would always suggest that once you’re sure of your travel dates to immediately get the seat reservation and tickets first. 😄 Hope this helps!

    Hi! Did you also book your train from Yufuin to Hakata in advance?

    • @artscribbler
      @artscribbler  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I did. I booked the whole RT (to and from Yufuin) in advance since I took the Yufuin no Mori both ways. However, I think you can use the regular trains too and just buy tickets at the counter. It might be a gamble though since it's a busy route.

    Would I be able to pay for the ticket on the train? I have a tight schedule upon arriving and train 3 is not operating

    • @artscribbler
      @artscribbler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, for the Yufuin No Mori train specifically, no, I don’t think it’s possible to pay on the train or station since it’s reservations only. But there are other trains that stop at Yufuin. You might be able to buy tickets at the station for those. 🙂

    Hi! nice video :) What time did you depart from Hakata station and also what time did you leave from Yufuin?

    • @artscribbler
      @artscribbler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I took the 9am train from Hakata and got to Yufuin at 11am. I wanted to go earlier but the Yufuin no Mori was booked out. 😅 I left Yufuin around 5pm and reached Hakata around 7pm. 🙂

      Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Hope you managed to score the seat reservations already! Once you have the digital vouchers for the rail pass, you can use the codes to purchase seat reservations for the Yufuin no Mori. 😁

      @@artscribbler I’ve been looking for answers about this. So I know there’s an activation date you indicate on the pass, I suppose you we’re able to reserve seats in the jrpass website even if you haven’t claimed your physical ticket and only the kook voucher right? This is what I plan to do but not sure if it’s possible. Thanks so much for your time. 💖
