Nah I really love these pre-play stories. It makes you feel quite invested in the battle especially when you consider the stakes each side has.

Hey men, it doesn't seem that Norsca came out on Warhammer 2, how do you have it right now? when does it come out?
It's coming out in 4 days ago I think, along with the Queen and the Crone dlcs and a regiments of renown for a lot of factions. A lot of TW youtubers got early access to all of this
That Norsca intro may be the most intimidating thing that I've seen in this game! Especially with Wulfrik flanked by the two Werekin with their red eyes blazing.

Y'know i'm sure I've said it before,but you do really have a talent with cinematic shots. Watching your channel all the time you get used to it by the end,and come to expect it from all total war video,but i'm always reminded then how good we have it on this channel. Your smooth "light" editing and cinematic shots really adds to awesomeness of the video. You've really improved over time too,which means the video will get even better :D !

Damn this was a good game. Glad to see Norsca come back and bringing it hard! Stoked to finally start a Mortal Empires campaign with them and just wreck everything and everyone.

I have yet to see Norsca even come close to victory in all the preview matches. You would think they had enough time to work on balance

The problems is and always been the ranged untis expecially archers. ever since TW1 they need to be more balanced i hightly recommend lowering the ammo count that should suffice.
well archers in this game are all op, al their arrows heat seek targets so dodging is impossible same with arty everything just darts at things that and HE are now op....toooo op

Honestly, I love your Total War: Warhammer videos, they're just freakin' thematic and dramatic, sometimes (up until you go over army composition) I feel as though I'm listening to one of the Black Library books. So awesome.

What Oakley lacked was a phat Pit of Shades on that swordmaster/PG blob. Lack of magic support, while thematic for Wulfrik who was abandoned by his "Kurgan shaman" after he killed the ladyfolk of Cothique, was a letdown for me. I mean, that blob...

I absolutely adore the narration and lore infusion of this battles. It makes you actually care and root for one side instead of being like yeah, the meta this, and the buff of +10% to bla bla.
Norsca seems like their units still need a buff from tw1.
Gotta be honest, I almost cried when this Medieval II music kicked in.
You know the Norscan player's micro wasn't solid when he brought several chariots and nothing they did ever got mentioned because nothing they did mattered (otherwise they'd have had a lot more kills than the meatshields).
they were killed by Fireborn in the backlines. its a 40 unit cap battle, making micro mistakes is par for the course, no one plays battles this big flawlessly. solid doesnt mean perfect. i think i played pretty well but i made mistakes too, wasted a few archer and bolt thrower volleys in the beginning and my Dragon princes on the right flank got caught out by Skin Wolves
I'm sorry if I came across like an ass, I didn't mean to. I just expected them to get much more done because whenever the AI has hounds, chariots, and cavalry like this Norsca player, my lines get ravaged left and right if I don't hug a corner and have enough anti-large and mass, so I felt like the Norscan player could have won if his Chariots had been better tended to.
It also seemed like even though he had an initial plan, he could never dictate the flow of battle, because you always took the initiative and forced him to respond to what you were doing, thus denying him any opportunity to make moves (a theme that's rather consistent in the games you play, it's always amazing to watch you make it look easy, knowing how hard it is actually). When he sent in Wulfrik for what probably seemed like an easy Lord snipe, you set the Everqueen to running around in circles and her passives took care of her while she kept doing the same thing she'd have been if she were left alone. When he sent in the rather obvious "Distraction Carnifex" Frost Wyrm, you didn't focus fire it because it would have soaked a lot of shots for the team. When your Dragon Prince got screwed by the hounds and werewolves, you let them die because in practice they acted as a tarpit for a very impactful part of the enemy army, giving you time to shoot them a bit and deal with the rest of the Norscans (seriously, when I saw that he was still pummeling them even though they were routing, while I understood the logic of not letting them come back especially with Lifebloom ticking, I knew it was going to bite him in the ass, which turned out to be the case).
@@Khorothis If you get messed up by chariors then you probably dont have an appropriate formation.
This actually happend in lore, in lore, however it was not alarielle (I think) but a prince who destroyed Wulfrik's host
Alarielle's gonna be great with that star of averlorn of extra heals. HE's probably benefit the most from healing because of that martial prowess
The papier mache bums of the north. Was looking forward for months to play them in ME, but they seem underwhelming to say the least.

Lukáš Ondráček shadow warriors are just better then scouts in almost every way shadow walkers have poison on their range and malee attacks and have relly good malee stats but very little ap

Which DLC is better, Warriors of Chaos or Norsca? My vote is the Norsca, because Beastmen are terrible.
I agree those dragon princes too expensive for most armies but vs norsca or factions that would struggle to snipe them out of combat they have a niche

Can anyone tell me how HE are not the most OP faction? Best cavalry, best archers, very effective phoenix guard and sword masters, etc

In Multiplayer they are balanced by being expensive as hell. This is a direct carry-over from how they functioned on tabletop, where they had some of the best models in the game, but would have anywhere between 1/2 and 1/3 as many models on the table as the opposing faction.
With unlimited funds, though? High Elves are the OP. However, if CA does Skyre for the Skaven, things could get interesting, especially if we get something like Ratling guns. I wonder what a warpstone minigun would do to Dragon Princes.
With the new Units for the High Elves, what do Wood Elves bring to the table, that High Elves don´t have? The difference in archers seems to be closer, they get accesss to Treekin and Dryades, their cavalry is probably stronger then the Wood Elven cav ... is this just my perception? Perhaps I am missing something? I am glad about any comment :)
The more i look at the model of Wulfrik the more i think he looks so alike to Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) of the Viking series from History channel. CA really didnt put the actor's look into the design?
Have Dwarf/Norse lords campaign effects been updated? Instead of +1 longbeard experience or 5% upkeep reduction for slayers did they get something similar in power to game 2 lords?
Cool new content but I've been waiting and hoping for ages that they'd fix ME and the old world so I can play all the characters of the old world with new starting positions and game mechanics and tie the two continents in together better, the DLC looks cool don't get me wrong and M&C has done a great job as always on the video butfor the amount of time I've waited I was expecting something to reignite the spark of this game some dlc I have to pay for after waiting this long sorta like a kick in the nuts.... but I guess you can't make money off of polishing already existing factions
Slight question if you don’t mind answering Indy. Do you feel lords are more powerful in Steel Faith Overhaul than vanilla? Lords like Archaon in vanilla can duel Star Dragons and win, whereas in Faith - Archaon gets stomped even though in lore he can beat Bloodthirsters. What do you think? Would you agree or disagree in certain aspects?
Lords are unquestionably more powerful in steel Faith overhaul than in vanilla, thats one of its selling points. To make the truly godlike legendary lords feel truly godlike. There may be some specific unit matchups here or there that are harder for certain Lords in SFO, but overall, yeah theyre much stronger

The Norsca keep wrecking me in my Campaign. They just keep attacking me with and army of like 15 mammoths
For that I just build throwaway armies and autoresolve the mammoths down.

Is it just me, or do the treekin look different than wood elf variant? Like chaos spawn looks different for beastmen and chaos warriors.

Why were all those norsca units held in reserve? So that the elves would win? Seems kinda silly that some of the units norsca needed were just sitting at full health in the start zone till the end of the battle

The ror phoenix guard themselves exploding rather than having a chance to burn and explode enemy unit models at low hitpoints seems a bit counter-intuitive.

plenty of players yeah, even more coming back with this update I imagine. multiplayer is a lot of fun. this patch will have a few balance issues that will hopefully get addressed early on, but overall I'd say balance has been pretty admirable considering the massive variety and asymmetry we have. balance is obviously far from perfect though

The story itself actually exists, though I don't think Alarielle herself was responsible for leading the High Elves against Ulfrik. He did get his arsed kicked out of Ulthuan, though, and only a handful of his bros survived the battle.
