So week before last I got busted looking in my local DG dumpster. At first she was talking all angry thinking I was the one making messes. After I cleared that up with her and let her know that I was donating to the food bank she took my number and is now texting me when she has damaged out product for me to pick up and take. I have taken two loads of still cold milk, yogurt, cottage cheese and sour cream so far!! I also got a full bag of memorial flowers to donate. I love seeing y'all saving all the goodies from the landfill 🎉!!

It’s always amazed me how they could just throw all that stuff away also. I had a friend that worked at a store like that and they said they were told that it’s a liability someone wants to get sick because of the stuff being expired. Still drive me crazy even with that excuse. 😦😦

I stumbled onto you channel while I was in the hospital in September. I was in the hospital for a week and rehab for an additional 3 1/2 weeks. Thank God I had my cell phone. I couldn't wait to get home my little guy Buster, he's my 2 year old Boston Terrier. So being confined to a wheelchair I would cast TH-cam to my TV and he would sit on my lap and we and would watch. He just loves when your dogs play with the sqweeky toys and especially when they bark. I love watching you beautiful family, I love you frugal ness and I truly love watching. Thank you.

I love finding supplies we can use at home and it saves us money! I haven’t bought paper towels, napkins, plates, cups…ever since I started diving. Go find yourself some supplies people! These type of supplies are thrown away all the time. Save them from going to waste. Great finds guys!

Omg the dumpster full of books was calling my name!! I'd take all the books that were in good condition, keep the ones that I'd want to read and distribute the rest around my town in the Free Libraries that we have. The stuffed puffs are delicious (I've even had the chocolate marshmallows stuffed with chocolate), try using 1-2 in hot chocolate!!

2 years ago at Party City, I found a bunch of Thanksgiving stuff, and it lasted for two Thanksgiving . Then, I gave the rest to the church to use up. There were plates, napkins, cups and table decorations.
That was a very nice haul. I miss those days when you came home with bags of surprises. My favorite snack is the Nutter Butter, but it costs $5.99 plus. Most overpriced Nabisco(?) cookie!
I've found candy gallor in that very same Party City dumpster. The manager there said he didn't mind us getting stuff out as long as we don't make a mess.

The law, Health Dept and other agencies has made it impossible to donate..we had an event with plenty of food left..no shelter, group home or pantry would accept it..I found know to give to other ppl… stores must remove items because of the dates on it..even if they know it’s good..if not in compliance they can have consequences.. Some stores don’t care that you take your stuff. How do you stores don’t want you to take it especially food rhymes. If someone gets sick, they worry about you suing them or they don’t want you to take it because they think you’re going to sell it.
One more question: Why not bring bins each dumpster day? You could also leave the grabber, tripod, etc. in the truck. If you use the tripod inside and out, a second tripod would be worth the price.
You are absolutely NOT a bad mother. Your children are loved and live a great outdoors, healthy life. You are teaching them the value of recycling, giving to those who need it, and trying to reduce damaging land fill. Love you guys. Keep up the good work ❤❤❤
