Nice find, it would be criminal to put anything non alloy on it. Find some touring racks. Yeeee!
In the late 60's and early 70's my brother in law and I got into "ten speed" bikes, unbeknownst to each other. I got a newly designed ultralight weight Sears Free Spirit. He got a used Bottecdhia, and pronounced it the way that you did, until we met a real bike person who said it should be pronounced "Bo-TECK- ia" Anyway, we blushed. But his was one sweet riding road bike, and was fast. My Free Spirit was nicer and newer, but lacked the authenticity of Roger's Bottecchia. I hope you get many years and miles out of your great "scrap metal find." Wow.

Road bikes are sweet but potholes on tar and chip roads not so much.
