Good review of a nice looking and effective rod. Worth considering when the time come4s to purchase a new rod (or maybe a pair!). Cheers. Ken
Great review Jason! I currently have the Airpower RXP, would be great to compare the RXP/SRS/GTR.
Cheers mate, Gtr is deffo a rod I want to try :)
Eazy jase , you can't go wrong with akios, especially the customer service. Brilliant company. All the best from GRIMSBY. P s. Have you seen the new akios rod with glass tip?
Amazing company and customer service :)
I have the Akios gtr atm which I'm testing looks an amazing bit of kit mate can't wait to get out and have a good play with it :)
@@TheEastbourneFisherman look forward to it , I no shane from the holderness cod father chanel on you tube as bin using it. Do you Watch his chanel as a north east angler?
@@TheEastbourneFisherman I have bin using the daiawa kenzakis 13'6 since last Xmas. Wow what a rod jase, but I now looking for a glass tip
Yes mate I do watch Shane's videos :)
It is the same one he had been using
I'm looking forward to trying it out :)
Looks like a very decent rod. Very good and honest review thank you for sharing
Cheers Stephen mate, Thanks for watching!
@@TheEastbourneFisherman No problem your very welcome
Going to get this as my next one I think
You wont be dissapointed its a stunning rod
Ive just got this rod delivered. The looks are amazing but can you tell why there are weight at the bottom of the rod and do i need them in there
They are to counter balance the rod depending on which reel you use either fixed spool or multiplier personally I just left them in as its not much of an issue but some ppl take them out
I was thinking about getting a Creed for fishing Deep rock marks around North Wales.
Do you think this AirPower will handle such a scenario? Even with a chance of Tope?
Hi mate tbh the Creed is best option for what you have said . AirPower has the guts for it and has landed lots of tope but that sort of fishing is what the creed was designed for and would be the best option for fishing deep rock marks
@@TheEastbourneFisherman Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
90 percent of the time I'd be fishing for Bass. Rays and Smoothies from the beach though.
I've taken double figure Bass and Smoothies with the Fury 420 but really was out gunned by a Thornback last Summer and thought the rod was going to snap.
That's why I want to get something a bit beefier but not sacrifice too much in bite sensitivity on the smaller fish.
watts the Airspeed like? Have you tried one or seen one being used
I haven't mate I'm affraid
The chaps on the Akios Fishing Facebook page will be able to advise more :)
I’ve just been out and brought an akios AirPower surf 435 rxp black do you know why it has brass weight in the butt end
There are a few rods that have weights in the butt, it is to aid the balance of the Rod when casting.
Thanks
As above, it allows you to balance the rod, to a degree, depending on your choice of reel.
Hi Kevin hope your well
All RXP models of airpower have the additional weights to help balance the rod as it has the fixed reel seat you can adjust the weights till you feel its comfortable for you.
However on Srs models you can have reel in varied positions so the weights are not needed
Hope this helps
As cheapskate its the price 😲😲
looking forward to multipliers that are user / idiot friendly
nice vid keep at it.
Cheers Ray
It is a amazing rod
I would say that if your someone who fishes alot and wants to invest in a decent bit of kit that will cover most fishing scenarios and you want a bit extra then this is deffinatly a rod to consider.
@@TheEastbourneFisherman don't forget some reels for us Dumbo's
@@rayb228 I will be doing some reel reviews soon mate :)
if i'm paying that sort of money i'm getting a century or a zziplex.
👍 I guess it depends on the indervidual person and what they want from the fishing rod.
I have cast some zipplex rods and some far too stiff for me personally
This rod is powerful and not too stiff but enough to pack a punch which I think some people would prefer over a zipplex or century
These rods are every bit as good and better than anything century is putting out .
