I've listened critically to a dozen or more interconnect cables, and a viewer on my channel suggested the purple colored Oyaide Class S, and I found them to be the cleanest and clearest cable I have heard, although I believe this cable has been discontinued, and I was buying the last ones the suppliers had in stock.
@@IDontExist14 Of course that experience depends entirely on the rest of the system in question. With my system, I found that to be true with Audioquest Ruby cable I purchased in '05. The Oyaide cables actually fixed the problem. You really have to match the components together, just as a speaker manufacturer has to match the various drivers and crossover components together to attain the target tonal character.
Update: Sound test: SO here's de looooong version... I was looking for a good IC cable to replace my CD-PRE actual cable which is too short for the rearrangement I did on the layout of my audio equipment, so based on your video I ordered the Class S 2 meter cable... long enough. So a couple of hours ago when I posted the comment above I thought it would be a better idea to replace not the CD cable but the TT to phono stage cable which was the "poorest quality", "stock" cable that was bundled with my Technics SL1210GR - BAD IDEA!!! I was in panic, a terrible interference noise in the line, volume at zero... WTF???? this is terrible! huge regrets buying this cable, where does this all come? I measured impedance of the cable, I knew this shouldn´t be a problem, so it had to be with shielding? or the absense of, so people be warned! So I changed my old CD cable to the TT, it was fine, no "noise", and fitted the Oyade on the CD-PRE... Bottom line: I think my ignorance, I should never have used a 2m cable between the TT and the phono preamp, I guess; and the oyade Class S on my CD is fantastic, dark background and fantastic clarity, a noticeable improvement! Huuuffhhhh... :-)
Update 2: Revisited the subject, don´t really convinced with my experimentation above. So I put the Oyaide on the Phono-Preamp (instead of TT-Phono) and its great, quiet and with excellent dynamics and clarity, very very good. So I pull back my comments on the shielding, maybe something else was messing and/or is really the lenght/sensitivity of the connection that was making the interference - happy now, thanks!
Thanks Paulo for your comments, you saved my life! I've been on a constant headache since yesterday, when I connected my 1200GR to my phono stage with a 2m Neo d+ class S cable (and the phono stage to the amp with an 1m of the same brand and class). Some months ago I saw this video and since then this cable was my choice till yesterday that I could purchase a set of 1m and 2m. Once my soundsystem was connected, a horrible background noise was present, just what happened to you. I felt so miserable and stupid for wasting so much money in useless over hyped cables...! But some minutes after reading your comments, I have changed the cables (1m for TT-phono Stage and 2m for Phono stage-amp) and voilà! The noise is gone! I must say this cable is really good, however, I think the connector jacks are not properly isolated because still a very low hum is audible if I raise (very high) the volume. On the other hand, something tells that there's no a big leap between class S and A, which is much cheaper.... Thank you, thank you for healing my hi-fi paranoia!
Hello! I got a suggestion to all, if you’re interested. Take your favorite RCA cables and use an RCA to 1/4” adapter jacks in those cables. Either you or someone you know with a electric guitar, use those cables as a guitar cable. On a clean sound, not distortion, play the guitar through your cable and listen to the change in tone, clarity, noise, volume, EQ, and whatever you notice. Whatever sounds best as a guitar cable with sound best as an interconnect cable. It works. It’s easier to hear the low end, midrange, and treble. No joke, seriously it works! For myself, Mogami 2524 is still my baseline to judge all unbalanced cables.
This was a much-needed video and Mr. 'Anadialog ' did a great job. Most audiophile reviewers shy away from this subject because it is highly controversial and can be overwhelming because there is so many options to choose from. This video is very practical and honest and comes from a true audiophile and someone who probably spent $$$$ (way too much) searching for the right cables. So, I want to thank you (on behalf of all your audience and myself) for being so bold as to come out and pick a few favorites for us. We owe you, man! As a Canadian, I am impressed we have a good cable in the Zavfino (I never heard of it)! But, as human nature goes, I want to try the imported Italian cables (and the Italians probably want the imported Canadian cables). I am also impressed that I already own 2 pairs of Oyaide ClassA (orange) cables. The truth is I threw out so many cables (including expensive Cardas, etc) but I kept these based on the sound quality - I truly liked the sound I was getting from the Oyaide cables - so I was very impressed when these cables were selected for this video. Thanks again!
Wow Tony, thanks for such a nice, hearted and honest comment. Cables are always a problem but after putting out videos on how to do them by your own I felt it was time to take a side and give some suggestions. Yes, you definitely need to check out your Zavfino cables...the technology involved is outstanding! Haha! It is very true...we always look for the imported piece of gear or something rare.
Excellent video Thank You! A little more advice please. If I'm looking to brighten my slightly warm tube system, which of the two "top-group" cables would you recommend, between the "Oyaide Neo D+ Series Class S" OR the "Zavifino Arcadia OCC." Thanks again for any assistance you can provide. Best regards!
Well, if you need that kind of correction maybe I would look for a good, but not TOTL, silver cable. When perfectly engineered silver does not sound bright, but "normal" silver cables tend to do that...no brand preference
@@anadialog Thanks for your quick response. Yeah, I had heard that too, but TOTL silver can be cost prohibitive. I’ll see what are my options in a short 1m length. Thanks again & keep making great content!👍👌
I admit Ricable Primus RCA interconnect is far better than others I own (rca to rca) in the same price range. The sound is more smooth without losing details. I'm also very Happy with Supracable EFF-XLR and the phono cable from the same brand.
Hi, what do you think about the specs of this cable? Or do you have a better advice? Thanks for your help. LUDIC ORPHEUS INTERLINK 2RCA - 2RCA. Occ copper. İt is for the turntable
After I uncovered the scam perpetrated by SKW I think that only Neotech has true OCC copper. In fact on their site they say oxigen-free and 6n purity but they don’t talk of the main characteristics of OCC copper, that it is monocrystal and only a few companies are authorized and certified so they are probably using OFC copper like almost everyone.
As RCA interconnect câble, Wich one between the Oyaide d class serie class B OR the SKW Audiophiles Câble RCA 2RCA ? I am a new customer in the hifi . Excuse my poor english…i am from Québec City.
I need an 7m long rca interconnect between my phono stage and integrated amplifier, what would you suggest? The reason is i want to move my unsuspended ( Rega planar 8 ) turntable away from the speakers.
@@anadialog OK, thank you for your answer! this was my latest thoughts also, but i got a reply from an cable making company that told me it would be no problem. So that confused me a bit. And thank you for your videos! I like your down to earth style of dealing with hifi!
I would go Neotech. It’s the only cable I buy when I don’t do mine. The Zavfino is excellent but the RCA cables have terrible connectors and I am not sure it is truly occ copper after what happened with SKW. The xlr are better but still no occ certification
@@anadialogI am leaning towards the OCC copper variant. Neotech has a bunch of different conductor options for OCC. Is it the 3001 that you recommend? My use would be between my integrated amp and my DAC. What is your current favorite speaker cable in the $300-$500 range?
What is the quality of the connection like for the B+ and the A? I usually like to use locking type connectors because they tend to feel more secure and less likely to just fall out from stress against corners~
Great video! I have the Oyaide Neo d + RCA class S rev.2 cables and it outperforms(greater transparency) my homemade RCA cables which I made costing me about $200 in raw materials(using Oyaide & Furutech parts). Would like to add that I am using the Oyaide Neo d class S with a Chord DAVE, it is that good. Thanks for the recommendation! I will try the Arcadia cables once I move back to Canada(currently living in Japan).
ANA(DIA)LOG, what's your experience with burning in the Zavfino Arcadia 2. I bought it upon your review, so far after 40 hours it is still sounding thin and like the handbrake is on. I have experience with an OCC copperSilver loudspeaker cable where burning in took> 100 hours. Same here? Thanks for advice.
I have been using the Oyaide class B and class A cables for a year or so now, they are the best cables I have... I do not have a ton of expensive ones, honestly I just stopped looking after I found these. I also use their USB cables. To my ears they have distinctly different sounds. The class B is warmer, more musical, the class A ones are very refined Japanese style sound. For my current setup the class B stuff is my favorite, often I use the class A from the transistor only outs from my DAC, and the class B from the Tube output of the DAC. Technical accurate clean and pure for the class A and the soul of Tubes with the class B was my setup with a different set of speeakers, right now it's all the class B. So you can move it around, change things up.
I am considering buying the Oyaide mid ( Class A) orange coloured cable but Oyaide do not provide capacitance measurement. I do not know why they don't do this, have they got something to hide ? Does anyone know what capacitance value is for this cable please ?
Capacitance, inductance and the worse of all, resistance and extremely low values in all our audio cables simply because they are too short. I explained this in detail here: th-cam.com/video/uVKFSquAhwc/w-d-xo.html
@@anadialog Thanks, I have just looked at the part of the video you attach the link for about capacitance, so it seems I should not worry too much about the exact value if I am using an interconnect of only about 1metre.
I am currently using the Oyaide Neo d+ class S USB cable for my Esoteric D-02 DAC. I personally don’t believe digital cables make that much of difference but I do like their products. Excellent build quality, great product design plus reasonable prices of entry-level products. Also they have a neet little showa-style electrical parts store in Akihabara which I often visit.
Akiba is like an ultra workout program for my wallet. I arrive in Japan with a George Costanza special full of 10,000yen notes and leave with a mid 90's Kate Moss.
Don't! You'll kill dynamics. That cable is too long for a single ended cable. Try getting a balanced connection if you can! If just can't then you must make your own from bulk. Otherwise you will spend way to much! I did a video on the topic but you should look for something even cheaper considering the length: th-cam.com/video/u3EPL6hI_H4/w-d-xo.html
All my life I used Oelbach and Cordial cables to connect the entire range of audio equipments in my studio. Both Oelbach and Cordial makes very high quality, no nonsense, practical cables and I never had any issues with them either in the studio on in the field.
Oyaide is one of the top hifi brands. All its products are extremely high quality. I suggest to go at least OCC copper but even the basic ones are pretty good. I do not have experience with Pyst but to me they seem very simple interconnects with no high quality materials. Then might as well go with a standard good Amazon basics cable or Ugreen IMHO.
Speaker cables needed to be bounded together for each channel for capacity issue, how about RCA cables, between AVR and amplifier, left and right channel RCA cables needed to be bounded together? thanks!
I want balanced or twisted cables for 3 way bass, mid range and highs, would you mind telling me what criteria I should look for in cables when picking?
In my experience, as explained in several of my vidoes, if you look for OCC copper conductors with teflon (PTFE) insulation and good quality connectors (24k gold plated or silver) you practically can't go wrong.
@@anadialog cheers, I was more in the tune of how silver is brighter so with tube amps good for highs, then some materials are good for full bodied midbass for midrange. I'm going to dsp anyway so guess it's not too important. Going for ofc silver filled/coated copper for long runs and occ silver plated for short runs. Interconnects full silver super short for value
I picked up a couple of Morrow Audio's interconnects and have been very happy with them. My old cables were Blue Jeans which are well made but IMO the morrow's sound better, I got them on sale for $35 for a 1/2 meter pair..
I picked up some solid silver excellent solid furuwaka rca type interconnects 75 quid direct from China. These cables wud be at least 650in UK. they sound very rich detailed loud clear real. Did the same with cables and valve phono stage. This shit cost me 500 quid. 2500 if u go thru money grabbing con men dealers etc in uk
Ana (Dia) Log I don't think the Oyaide interconnect cables are shielded. Shielding is usually recommended for interconnect cables and yet you are recommending the Oyaide cables. What is your opinion on this please ?
@@anadialog It does mention shielding in the spec but does not say if it has a copper braided shield. Just mentions aluminium outer cover. It is not a coaxial cable.
What is your opinion on using two independent shielded coaxial cables instead of a standard double RCA cable for connecting a turntable to a photo stage in an EMI+ environment? How would this affect especially the high frequencies?
You can do that but coax cables have a high impedence while standard analog interconnects have it lower so its not such a good idea, the signal will be attenuated and the cable will increase its capacitance and possibly loose its energy on the higher frequencies.
ANA[DIA]LOG Thank you so much for your answer. I intend to place a new turntable pretty much next to a tube amp (due to space limitations) and since I cannot be sure of the effectiveness of the insulation around the amp’s transformers, I was wondering which would be the best way to go...
@@Delkomo don't worry, go for a standard interconnect. Interference takes place with very poorly designed gear. If you are worried of interference get a semi-balanced interconnect with great shielding.
No but I have heard of them. Strange to find this out when I live in Minneapolis and maybe 20 minutes away. I am proud of our states audio companies. Audio Research, Magnapan, Bel Canto, Van Alstine and now I can add this one :)
Having sold cables for 20 plus years. More is spent on packaging than the cable at retail. Also Chinese cables are fine also but the quality varies and corners are cut. You need to align yourself with a brand that has quality assurance. Example Kimber or Audio Quest or Wire world. Note cable margins at retail are 80 to 125 percent.
I agree...that is why one of my first videos was DIY: th-cam.com/video/u3EPL6hI_H4/w-d-xo.html But for those without time or skill I wanted to suggest a few good purchases IMHO
This video just cost me $145!!! Just had to get the $70 Oyaide Class A RCA Interconnect for Suwoofer Cable and the $54 Oyaide 3.5 mm to RCA Class B Cable after seeing this video !
I fully agree. It's basic Soldiering skills, and that's it The good cable can be bought for £10 -£20 per meter for 55pf silver series, interconnects such as wet for 20 for 8, and you now own 2 pairs for RCA or more to your desired lengths. But I bought more male plugs. I own a few chord cables of my system downstairs, and they are of high quality and everything frequency for a 1/8 for the price.
That is a good example! XLR is used in pro environment, like recording studios and concerts cabling due to its noise canceling character. Short unbalance interconnects suffer much less.
I use Infinite Cables in Canada. Their Phantom line is of amazing quality for the price and the build quality is simply top shelf. They can essentially make whatever type of cable you require in any length and termination.
Hello! I love the channel and listening to your passion about Hifi and have learned so much! Thanks for sharing your info! Would these cables that you’ve recommended here work just as well in car audio as well for a 6-12 ft long run? I’m really thinking about trying the ramm elite 7 or oyaide neo S series for my truck installation going from my headunit preamp to my digital signal processor via analog rca interconnects
I usually stick to QED cables. They have different tiers also like d+, I usually stay in the performance - reference range. Built and work really well. I do have a Neo d+ B class also which does the job. (Thankfully Oyaide does hard to find configurations like 1/4 inch to phono like you showed).
SKW now has "Audiophiles RCA Cable" interconnects that are OCC/6N (single crystal copper), and around the same prices as the Oyaide Class B cables. They sound (imho) super clear and detailed, but without sounding dry or cold... allowing warmth to come through--but not adding any.
Do you have any suggestion on free cables? (i don't know what the name is for cables that do not have connectors). I need cables to connect my amplifier to my speakers that are old Monitor audio (don't know the reference). thanks a lot for this video really instructive! Respectfully.
Bulk cables! Sure, the best, IMHO, are OCC copper bulk cables, possibly insulated with teflon, regardless the brand. Check out Neotech, Furutech, Viablue...
The idea is to keep the set-up evenly balanced! If it's a mediocre setup well one may as well as go with mediocre cables but if what happens to have a quality setup IMO quality cables are a must. Quality cables doesn't make the system sound better but what it does do is provide the path for the system to sound its best. Best thing I ever did was take the punt and swap my £45 audioquest black lab RCA's the more expensive chord shawline RCA's. It was if I was hearing my stereo Rel subwoofers for the first time.
According to Oyaide website, S class now uses the same conductors of A class, 102 SSC, I understand it is technically OFC. So no OCC on that series. Besides Ricable Primus, can you please recommend another relatively affordable cable that uses OCC conductors? Also, Ricable balanced XLR cables only start at one level above the primus, the Magnus, which has a higher price tag.
Yes, some time has passed from the video and things change. I guess only Neotech uses only OCC copper and OCC silver. Check this vid: th-cam.com/video/rHMFP6IKqvY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ef1e3W6ce8ewstT2 In the video I also presented the Arcadia Zavfino: zavfinousa.com/products/arcadia-pc-occ-interconnect-cable
My suggestion is that the best cable for KZ earphones is the stock one. The reason is that while these earphones have a standard two pin connector, it is always either recessed or protruding depending on the model, so it's difficult to have a good connection. I managed to find one with the same exact stock connector for my ZS 10 pro on aliexpress, but even if I moved to balanced I didn't find any clear differences unfortunately.
@@syedsibtain4309 Oh, I have them too! In that case I would recommend even strongly to keep the original cable. The reason is that they are rather cheap, probably it's possible to buy them to around 20-30$. If you add a better cable, even paying as low as 10$ you will go in the ZS10 pro territory (the difference is night and day, in sound, construction quality and comfort), but without having any advantage. The point is that even if the ED16 are really fun and enjoyable earphones they are not particularly detailed or power hungry to feel any difference. I'd say that the minimum earphone to feel the difference in changing the cable is something like the shure SE535 (probably because they have a notoriously bad cable) but anyway you really have to pay a lot of attention. On something like the AKG K7xx you can clearly hear the cable change, because first the stock cable is really long (having 1/2 of the length is like changing from aluminum to silver), and also because they draw a lot of current (every drop of power juice more that passes trough the cable have its benefit) and they also are really detailed. We all like to tinker and optimize, but you have to draw the line and understand when the upgrade makes sense. Not that in this particular case you would break the bank even spending 30$ for a cable, but in my opinion there's no need, better just wait and get a better KZ when you'll find a good price!
I just picked up a audioquest black lab subwoofer cable that said it used what they called long grain copper, it was a 3 meter cable and it ran me about 50 us.
Not necessarily. But these new cables from Oyaide are very good and cheap. Most are OFC, but only one (d+ class S) has OCC copper, which is the best of the best and can rival with high end models or other brands.
$30-$40 cables are a pretty fair return on investment. I have been using Audioquest Evergreens and they easily sound better than the crummy red/white ones you get when you buy a component. The only way I'll ever spend more is if I need balanced connections for something.
Balanced connections due to their nature just work better. Hence, you do not need to invest as much as unbalanced...in any case look always for OCC copper and possibly teflon insulation...top high end cables mainly use that!
@@anadialog true. Thanks for the additional info as I had never seen nor heard of the Japanese company mentioned and will certainly give them a try also, everyone gets a fair shot when they are priced this well.
hi. Im a relatiwely new commer on the world of audio file/gear/music liseners and concerning the topic of hi grade cabels I have one question which is: how can I get a significant enprowment on sound quality using no matter what occ silver or different cable connecting my source with lets say the speackers when the equipment producer use inside the gear to produce the signal just reggular "plain jane" normal copper wire? ps: im enjoing each one of youre youtube eppisodes. keep up the good job.
Thanks! Well, a lot of people in fact rewire speakers and components (with OCC copper usually) to get the maximum from their system but it is very hard to do. A first step is using good quality cables connecting your system. If you feel you wan't to rewire be sure you know what your doing and have the necessary skills...
subaruxrxsti78 There are a lot of company's (not the mainstream companies that are chinese made) that take care to use good, not necessarily expensive wiring in their products. Some, usually speakers, are made with quality cables from company's such as Van den hul, Nordost, etc. Something to keep an eye out for.
All I do know about the interconnect cable is that my home-made cables (made of some cheap and tiny teflon insulated Belden 82761 terminated with Mogami 7551, total cost $30) sound no any worse than $ 350 AudioQuest cables.
@@Phoenix_1991 Well. That was a long time ago. I've read Jon Risch article about cable building and had soldered a couple short (0.5 meter) IC cables from the materials from the local shop. Then I went to a local Hi-End electronics dealer with my CDs. Prior to that I have bought from that shop a couple of Rotel sets for a friend of mine. So the salesman already knew me. He let me listen to my cables and the top of the line AudioQuest cables they had in stock via McCormack Micro Integrated amp and some Stax electrostatic headphones. I used RCA splitters at a CD player outputs and ran two sets of cables to two sets of amp inputs that I was switching back and forth with a toggle switch at amp's front panel. So I was trying to hear the difference between different cables. As I recall I've tried 4 sets of homemade Belden cables. With rubber insulation, with "Datalene" insulation, with polyethylene insulation and with teflon insulation. With the later I could not hear the difference between my cable and the Audio Quest Lapis 3 (also teflon insulated but about 5 ft long). So I called the salesman and let him listen to both cables. And he told me the phrase that I still remember: "It seems like you don't need to buy cables anymore."
Good to hear that somebody open the subject on the so called "can of worms" about cables. They do make a difference but are system dependent I feel. I noticed that all your cables were very heavy shielded with Teflon and/or plastics. Do try Anti-cables from the US. A completelyI different approach. I buy them second hand to get an acceptable price. The only shielding on them are an ultra-thin red laquer. I believe that the capacitance is close to non-existing. It's just air around them.. Improvement from my old high priced plastic cables were : better soundstage, better bass, clearer vocals. My Forte 3's became even more Klpsch-like and forward with these cables.
Finally some great practical recommendations! thanks for that. wish I would have seen this before investing into AQ Water. I'm curious to give Oyaide d+ S a try, they might even still sound better than AQ water. Also, since you advocate power cables influence on sound quality, do you have similar recommendation on power cables that can have audible improvements without breaking the bank?
In my opinion the best thing it to make them by your self. With power cables you don't even need to solder, just peel the conductors and attach them in a good connector! Here is an example: th-cam.com/video/qlQXmQlBaVA/w-d-xo.html The important is to use high quality materials like OCC copper and good bulk cable geometry/construction and insulation.
@@anadialog ok great! thanks for the reply I will have a look. Also, for rca cables between Arcadia MKII 1877Phono Zavfino and Oyaide Neo D+ S and oyaide pa-02 tr v2 which one you would rather go with today? and between Oyaide Neo D+ S and oyaide pa-02 tr v2 is there going to be much difference, or would you choose one over other? And finally how would you think these compare to my already installed AQ Water? Thanks!
No problem for matching. Zavfino are very good, don't like the grip of a the connectors though. The best cables are those made by yourself with neotech occ coppper bulk cables and quality connectors: th-cam.com/video/u3EPL6hI_H4/w-d-xo.html
The best reason to spend the money for decent cables isn't about how they "sound." It's about durability, corrosion resistance, and connection security. The give-away cables we get boxed with consumer hi-fi gear are often pretty bad in durability and connection terms, but they rarely corrode (at least visibly) and they carry the signal. In short, they work until they stop working, and if they get manipulated a lot, they tend to stop working. I buy a variety of oxygen-free copper RCA interconnects in the $30-50 range for my primary system with, for me, expensive components. For everything else, a step up from in-the-box is good enough. For basic use, I build my own speakers cables using oxygen-free 16 or 14-ga single element primary wire, a black one and a red one, running together through a braided polyethylene sleeve. It's inexpensive, durable, and perfectly workable.
I made myself all my IC's..... For unbalance rca I use Mogami 2803 with neutrik and/or Canare F10 connectors silver soldered. For balance Iam using Mogami 3173, neutrik gold xlr, silver soldered, sounds very good..... (FYI I also prefered copper sounds after experiments with silver cables)
Is there any measurements for the different types of cables? Something tells me on this short distances there is no difference (in ability to transmit signal) between high end silver cable and copper coat hanger. Unless you have a super ability to hear impurities on atomic level.
I bought a pair of the Zavfino Arcadia interconnects and would not recommend them at all. They do have smooth midrange weight -But they have almost no top end response. The treble is buried - I urge you to reconsider your recommendation. That is a seriously flawed cable.
But will the average person notice the difference? I just use the same shielded(balanced if available) cables I use for my DJing gear and get pretty great sound for cheap. Better and usually cheaper or close to the same price as big box store cables.
Everyone can! I have reached the explanation that in some systems the change is like night and day, in others just some nuances and in other cases things just don't change. In my experience, when I had a pretty low quality system a good cables changed things dramatically in for efficient systems things changed much less...
I believe cables do affect the sound from audio components. But curious how you come up with your criteria in recommending these cables. Is it based solely on the type of materials used, their build, their looks, etc; or do you actually listen to them? You highly recommend the Zavfino cables, and yet you haven't even opened the package. I don't notice you making any comparisons with other cables or describe how each sound. I'm not trolling, just trying to understand the basis of your recommendations. Thanks.
I have several sets of Zavfino cables. Obviously I got a new pair and then decided to open them on camera. You may not be trolling but you sure have some strong prejudice if think that I don't even listen to the cables I present. The looks have nothing to do with my choices. Yes, materials and after that geometry are the main factors. These can only cost a certain amount of money. That is why I recommend specific brands or bulk materials, which I always test and use in my system. No, I never describe the sound of cables because cables don't have a sound, they influence it and the effect is on most of the spectrum. Therefore in my opinion there is no sense in describing that, I do it only with gear, unless there is clearly something lacking or evidenced, but again I would not be presenting them at that point. Forget all the voodoo of cable companies. A good transmission is obtained by occ copper or silver and quality insulation like teflon. Quality connectors are also paramount. You just can't go wrong. Geometry has an influence but way after these aspects. The price/quality of the Oyaide is just unbeatable. Clearly only the OCC copper is top notch, the rest is good but not extremely neutered as a cable should be.
@@anadialog No prejudice, no malice intended. Just trying to learn from other people's experiences. Not unlike you, I try to get the best out of my audio system. So if you have any insight on how they affect the sound in your system and how they compare to others you've used and replaced, that would be helpful. Your opinions do matter. No right or wrong answer there. That's why people like me tune in to these YT channels. Again, thank you.
Nice review, Thank You. I am currently looking for both a SPDIF and a USB cable, I will have to check your recommendations out to see if they have digital interconnects as well. I am very sensitive to the differences in digital cables.
The problem is this, you are going by what you can see and implement on your own but more than likely you have crossovers that have $30.00 worth of parts and bad wire connecting the speakers. Once you hit the required resistance everything else does not matter. Termination is just if not more important. If you have $10,000.00 speakers and want to spend more then spend $500.00 on wire, or just order some good wire on a spool and some spade or banana plugs and call it even.
I like your perspective sir. Cables are snake oil 75 Ohm coaxial cables are excellent and affordable and have the best shielding but the crimped no solder RCA connectors are elusive and a little pricey so most manufacturers do not use them but you can make your own for a fraction of the price of Audio fool cables
I have exotic Jantzen Alumen Z-caps 6.8 uF capacitor in my crossover.. What's your point again? Cables matter.. There is diminishing returns here aswell as anywhere else. But some heavy gauge silver-plated OCC Copper really does sound better. Doesn't need to be crazy expensive. But you should atleast spend 400 $ on your loudspeaker cables. Will you be able to hear the difference between 50$ vs 400$ cables?? - Absolutely! Do you need 2000$ dollar cables? Most likely not. Silver cables has a very different sound signature than Copper cables, I find that silver-plated OCC Copper strikes that perfect balance of anonymity. Whereas pure Copper cables has a very dark wooly thick sound. - Silver being very lean and bright.
I usually don't describe the sound of cables. If the sound is that characterized that means that it is not a good cable since cable should be as neutral as possible.
@@anadialog but if there is not any sound difference between those cables and if they all have natural sound what’s the reason to propose different cables with different price level ?
@@anadialog I bought the ARCADIA MK2 but the bass is too boomy so the music lose its refinement , the image is less natural and compress , with this cable you need an EQ , I'm sending them back for an exchange against FUSION , hope this one gonna be better or 300 euro in garbage
I tried the Oyaide cable v2 (102 SSC) instead of fusion , this cable is exceptional , It can compete with cable three times of it price and a good match for my DAC , now I’m going to try the ACROSS 750 RR and T TERZO for my TT 🙂
I've tried all cables for years on all sorts of high end systems. I've concluded that as long as you have a well built, quality cable, you'll be fine! Everything else is money down the drain.
Bro flat cables gave a flashy sound but it gets tiring after some time
@@IDontExist14 Of course that experience depends entirely on the rest of the system in question. With my system, I found that to be true with Audioquest Ruby cable I purchased in '05. The Oyaide cables actually fixed the problem. You really have to match the components together, just as a speaker manufacturer has to match the various drivers and crossover components together to attain the target tonal character.
I just received today the Oyaide Class S, looks very well built - thanks for the suggestion!
Cool! Happy it worked out!
Was gonna turn you off, until I saw Hendrix “Bold as Love” behind you. Now you’re one of my top guys!
🤣🤣🤣
Oyaide are absolutely great. Their "highest end" cables - are substantially great.
Thank you. You really help from a newbies perspective. Ha-ha. 51 and still learning. Love it.

Great video. Decisions decisions... thank you
Thank you for the awesome and unique information. Very helpful.
I enjoyed this vid. It was clearly described and very understandable. Thank you
Interesting!
Van Damme Silver Series Session Grade Lo cap 5uf is my goto if you what good cable.
Hey, they're no longer available. Is there a newer generation?
Thank you Tony for expressing how, im sure, many of us feel. Thanks mr. A
Great recommendations. Just tried class s interconnects with d+ class a usb to great effect!
Good info. I'm going to give the Zafino a try.
Good! Let us know the results...!
Yeah, Rich, how did it go?
The Arcadia is a solid cable and won't break the bank, thanks !
@@anadialog I understand, thank you very much.
Thanks for another of your excellent videos. BTW, in Canada we make Hi-end audiophile electronic too.
I use Oyaide neo and are very well made looking cables.
As RCA interconnect câble, Wich one between the Oyaide d class serie class B OR the SKW Audiophiles Câble RCA 2RCA ? I am a new customer in the hifi . Excuse my poor english…i am from Québec City.
Oyaide D+ class S or any OCC copper interconnects possibly with teflon (ptfe) insulation!
I need an 7m long rca interconnect between my phono stage and integrated amplifier, what would you suggest? The reason is i want to move my unsuspended ( Rega planar 8 ) turntable away from the speakers.
7m is going to kill the benefits from moving it away. If we are talking balanced cables, ok, but otherwise never go over 2m.
@@anadialog OK, thank you for your answer! this was my latest thoughts also, but i got a reply from an cable making company that told me it would be no problem. So that confused me a bit. And thank you for your videos! I like your down to earth style of dealing with hifi!
I am sure a cable company told you it's ok! More meters more $$$!
@@anadialog Really?Only 2 m?You are funny man!Close the store!
Just bought the Zavfina Arcadia's , Awesome!
Just added some Nova speaker cable aswell👍🏼👍🏼
Do you have a preference between the Ramm or the Zavfino? Trying to find a neutral to warm sounding cable.
What is your current favorite speaker cable in the $300-$500 range?
do you think the class A is worth the extra money form the class B? what do you think about mogami cables like the 2549 for analog interconnects ?
Yes I do because I am firmly convinced that OCC copper does make a difference, which other brands like Mogami don't have.
What do you think about Oyaide Tunami Terzo RR interconnects?
All Tunami versions are great cables. Can't go wrong!
@@anadialog great, I will buy Tunami for my system :) I also ordered Oyaide pa2075 phono cable from eBay. Can't wait for it to arrive!
What is the quality of the connection like for the B+ and the A? I usually like to use locking type connectors because they tend to feel more secure and less likely to just fall out from stress against corners~
Great quality IMO....not too tight like neotech not too lose like zapfino
Great video! I have the Oyaide Neo d + RCA class S rev.2 cables and it outperforms(greater transparency) my homemade RCA cables which I made costing me about $200 in raw materials(using Oyaide & Furutech parts). Would like to add that I am using the Oyaide Neo d class S with a Chord DAVE, it is that good.
Thanks for the recommendation! I will try the Arcadia cables once I move back to Canada(currently living in Japan).
The only negative part of the Arcadia are the connectors unfortunately very loose...
@@anadialog That's unfortunate, it might be possible to gently bend the outer teeth part of the connector inwards to help tighten the connection.
Audiophile Interconnect cables that won't break the bank ? Ugreen :)
lol
ANA(DIA)LOG, what's your experience with burning in the Zavfino Arcadia 2. I bought it upon your review, so far after 40 hours it is still sounding thin and like the handbrake is on. I have experience with an OCC copperSilver loudspeaker cable where burning in took> 100 hours. Same here? Thanks for advice.
Could be, all cables react differently according to which gear you are using, or simply they just don't match...it can happen!
I have the Oyaide class b cable for USB connection. Great. 26 € in Germany by Amazon.
great reviews on the various cables, thank you
Thanks!
Good to see you are enjoying these cables!
Thank you
I am considering buying the Oyaide mid ( Class A) orange coloured cable but Oyaide do not provide capacitance measurement.
I need a 35 ft length awesome RCA cable, NOT xlr, what do you recommend??? In order to connect an amp with my preamp...
Awesome!!! Could you please do a similar video for speaker cables?
Thanks man! Yes, that is another one that I need to cover...
Done! th-cam.com/video/uVKFSquAhwc/w-d-xo.html
Awesome!!!
All my life I used Oelbach and Cordial cables to connect the entire range of audio equipments in my studio. Both Oelbach and Cordial makes very high quality, no nonsense, practical cables and I never had any issues with them either in the studio on in the field.
How would the basic option compare to the Schiit PYST? Short so good for gear that's stacked, and great price.
Speaker cables needed to be bounded together for each channel for capacity issue, how about RCA cables, between AVR and amplifier, left and right channel RCA cables needed to be bounded together? thanks!
If they are very long, yes.
Are blue Jean cables any good? Speaker or rca
I haven't tried them and they are quite big in the US. I can only say that materials and design seem quite basic.
@@anadialog basic as in bad? lol

Amazon's 10$ RCA cables are more than enough. No need for snake oil cables.
Yawn
Of course they are shielded www.neo-w.com/english/d_plus/d_plus_rca_ser/
@@anadialog It does mention shielding in the spec but does not say if it has a copper braided shield. Just mentions aluminium outer cover. It is not a coaxial cable.
did u test the cables? what were the results?
I listened to the cables and excluded just as many. The results ARE this video! :-)
Wonderful and very detailed review. Thank you so much brother for sharing your most honest and humble opinions.🙏🙏💗 Watching from Sweden.
If you decide not to make cables, Mogami cables are very good and not too expensive
Does anyone have any input on “Anti Cables” made in Minnesota?
No but I have heard of them. Strange to find this out when I live in Minneapolis and maybe 20 minutes away. I am proud of our states audio companies. Audio Research, Magnapan, Bel Canto, Van Alstine and now I can add this one :)

Having sold cables for 20 plus years. More is spent on packaging than the cable at retail. Also Chinese cables are fine also but the quality varies and corners are cut. You need to align yourself with a brand that has quality assurance. Example Kimber or Audio Quest or Wire world. Note cable margins at retail are 80 to 125 percent.

I'll probably make mine (you have a video). This way I know I used good materials but don't feel bad for spending tons of money.
I agree...if you have some skill and time it's the best and more rewarding way to go!
I fully agree. It's basic Soldiering skills, and that's it
The good cable can be bought for £10 -£20 per meter for 55pf silver series, interconnects such as wet for 20 for 8, and you now own 2 pairs for RCA or more to your desired lengths. But I bought more male plugs.
I own a few chord cables of my system downstairs, and they are of high quality and everything frequency for a 1/8 for the price.
Thx Mate, your doin amazing videos! Am realy sad that Neo have only Class B XLR cables...is there a differens between a good XLR and a RCA?
Thank you! Balanced connections, especially for distant cabling are best IMHO. A good RCA may reach that quality though...
Cool! Are they OCC?
Thanks!
Of course, go ahead and give us your feedback. All three are great choices.
I have to confirm, the Arcadia MK II si an excellent cable.
Have you tried SKW interconnect cables l would be interested in your views on them ?
I haven't but I am sure they must be quite good, only problem is that they don't have PTFE insulation and that is a killer for me
I usually stick to QED cables.

Sorry to hear that
@@anadialog it is a strange issue because it does not happen with every equipment. I replaced the one connecting my turntable to the phono stage

What is your opinion on OYAIDE CLASS S versus SKW OCC INTERCONNECT CABLES ?
I did not try the interconnects by SKW
@@anadialog th-cam.com/video/2rjOdEuFe88/w-d-xo.html
According to Oyaide website, S class now uses the same conductors of A class, 102 SSC, I understand it is technically OFC. So no OCC on that series. Besides Ricable Primus, can you please recommend another relatively affordable cable that uses OCC conductors? Also, Ricable balanced XLR cables only start at one level above the primus, the Magnus, which has a higher price tag.
Yes, some time has passed from the video and things change. I guess only Neotech uses only OCC copper and OCC silver. Check this vid: th-cam.com/video/rHMFP6IKqvY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ef1e3W6ce8ewstT2

Which cables are best for kz iem earphones!!!
@@karellen00 I bought a new kz ed16 so I was about to buy cable for it!!!!
@@karellen00 thnx for suggestion!
@@karellen00 thnx for suggestions thank very much
Great video my friend ,as always ,and these are great prices ,will do some research on them many thanks as always 😊😊😊
I just picked up a audioquest black lab subwoofer cable that said it used what they called long grain copper, it was a 3 meter cable and it ran me about 50 us.
Why Oyaide cables vs Audioquest , chord , Atlas etc . are they better ?
Not necessarily. But these new cables from Oyaide are very good and cheap. Most are OFC, but only one (d+ class S) has OCC copper, which is the best of the best and can rival with high end models or other brands.
Did you buy all of those or were they donated?
All mine and tested during time!
I can confirm that the freebies in the box work just as well.
Try Mogami, hard to beat them in the same price range. Easy to find, super cheap for DIY.
Yes! Agree. If you are serious about hifi, learn to solder and/or crimp and make your own. You'll save thousands over the years...
You are right, I am using Mogami 2803 for all unbalance connection, and Mogami 3173 for balance connection, end of my cables journeys 😅
All I do know about the interconnect cable is that my home-made cables (made of some cheap and tiny teflon insulated Belden 82761 terminated with Mogami 7551, total cost $30) sound no any worse than $ 350 AudioQuest cables.
can you tell me more about the comparison?
@@Phoenix_1991 If you are interested I just have found the part number of that Belden cable. It's 82761.
Here we also try to find a reason behind the debate: th-cam.com/video/63DjmnemI4s/w-d-xo.html
Here is an example: th-cam.com/video/qlQXmQlBaVA/w-d-xo.html
The important is to use high quality materials like OCC copper and good bulk cable geometry/construction and insulation.
What about monster cables interconnect cables 850i , 950i , 1000i advanced and ultimate versions ?
Not a big fan of MC. If they have (finally) introduced OCC Copper and a decent insulation, they are good for me!
Nice! I usually do the same…I did several videos on the topic for different types of cables
here in Québec, Canada, we have also the cable brand Bis Audio, very good too.
Have you tried real cable from france? They have their master series with 3 different occ rca cables. I also like qed cables from uk.
No, but if they are using OCC and decent insulation and overall geometry, I am sure they sound great. Price? Personally not a big fan of Qed.
@@anadialog the occ90 is around 75euros in Sweden. Oh really, what cables have you tried from Qed?
Is there any measurements for the different types of cables? Something tells me on this short distances there is no difference (in ability to transmit signal) between high end silver cable and copper coat hanger. Unless you have a super ability to hear impurities on atomic level.
You nailed it. There is no mystery. It can all be measured. What you said about distance is the key and a huge part of the equation.
Weird how I grew to believe in cables.. (not powercables but what not is can still come). did you believe in cables right from the start?
Absolutely not! I thought it was just an audiophile craziness and if not that it would have just a subtle impact on the signal. Boy I was wrong!
I bought a pair of the Zavfino Arcadia interconnects and would not recommend them at all. They do have smooth midrange weight -But they have almost no top end response. The treble is buried - I urge you to reconsider your recommendation. That is a seriously flawed cable.
Be patient. It will reward you after burn-in.
NO ONE CAN NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE.
They do have USB cables in the Iyaide Neo, plus the normal Oyaide cables have excellent coaxial cables..a little more expensive though...
Like the flat cables it’s known to help!
Indeed!
@@anadialog Thanks guys
Are you familiar with Mogami cables, speaker and interconnect?
A little, in the past, nothing special IMO
Hello
Would you please provide some details about how the cables sound like instead of price and features 🤔
Thanks in advance
Shout out to Zafino! Great quality, good range.
I've tried all cables for years on all sorts of high end systems. I've concluded that as long as you have a well built, quality cable, you'll be fine! Everything else is money down the drain.
I have no idea where these cables sell. I have done an internet search and it did not bring up much in the way of allowing me to research vendors.
Did you look at the links in the video description?
