It seems obvious to me that a lot of how she's responding is based on her feeling guarded with the interviewer and audience, who are out of her depth and probably mostly white. Judging by y'all's comments, she'd be right. I mean, just look at her body language. It looks really protective and skeptical. There's a very different vibe in other interviews I've seen, although I think this is great too.
