      no one can take away from his accomplishments with friends and maybe that was his downfall as he had reached his peak of success during friends and none of them have had the same level of success since just sadly matthew’s support system was not as solid as everyone thought or he was made to portray himself to the fans (he’s another human who was used as a commodity )

    As someone who has received ketamine infusions for chronic pain for many years my best guess is that Perry may have suffered a sudden drop in blood pressure, causing him to faint and end up face down in the water. Its doubtful the ketamine or subsequent prescriptions had much to do with his passing. The really unfortunate thing is that he was alone when this happened and could probably have been avoided if someone was there to pull him out of the water.

      He had infusions a week ago but they found traces of ketamine in his stomach. His levels were about the middle range they give for anesthesia. Plus he mixed it with buprenorphine, which can also cause drowsiness.

    • @Lady1974M
      @Lady1974M ปีที่แล้ว

      @@inneybaby2506 Yes but only trace amounts were found in his stomach which is normal for an infusion therapy. Perry's blood was apparently found to have excessive ketamine levels which I just don't understand because after infusions you're good to go after a good night's sleep. I was back at work within a day. If his doctor was giving him an extra Rx for ketamine then that's on the doctor. They should have known better than to give such an Rx to a recovered addict with liver and bowel issues.

    • @Lady1974M
      @Lady1974M ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@annmarieknapp Considering Perry already had heart disease he would naturally have high blood pressure. That's why my hypothesis is that it was a blood pressure event. People fail to realize how much your BP can affect your health. But, I could very well be wrong, which is why it's just an hypothesis. We are only getting dribs and drabs from the coroner's office on the autopsy notes so people will keep speculating and getting it wrong. But I don't believe he was using drugs recreationally. He'd worked so hard to maintain sobriety and lived with a sober housemate. That would have negated all his hard work.

    Ketamine has been approved for depression in people who are resistant to other medications. It is supposed to be administered by a health care professional. The person is monitored throughout the process for a few hours. If they are OK, they are let to resume their day. It is either by infusion or by taking it in pill form but not both. This is so sad. Ketamine in and of itself would not of killed Matthew if he was taking it as instructed. He probably liked the way it was making him feel and decided to self medicate with it. He then got into a hot tub and was not able to stay conscious. It would be like falling asleep in a bathtub and not waking up. A sad, tragic way to die.

    that high level is definitely an OD, not clinically administered. They need to look into where he got that (i'm betting a "celebrity" doctor.) Unfortunately, when these drugs are prescribed by a doctor, many addicts try to rationalize their at home use as "also prescribed by a doctor", but as Dr Gupta points out - the K in his stomach was not related to the prescribed infusion he was receiving medically. So very sad that this happened. I feel so bad for the assistant who had to find him this way too - very traumatic! Please if anyone is reading this and knows they have an addiction - you cannot do it on your own.. please get help! Each day you wait, thinking tomorrow you will quit, tomorrow you will stop, is just putting your recovery off. You have to stop now, you have to ask for help, drugs are stronger than our willpower when they take hold, so it will always lie to you, causing you to stay getting high.. you know this. seek help now.

    Ketamine infusion therapy - but his last medically supervised infusion had been 10 days before. So he was still using drugs. He may have been using them to alleviate depression, but that's kinda why people use drugs - in order to feel not so bad for a while. Just because he wasn't "partying" doesn't mean he wasn't using drugs - and that's what killed him. Because if he hadn't been taking drugs, he probably wouldn't have nodded off and drowned.
    And it's not some sort of moral failure. Its not about judgment, but an acknowledgment of what happened, and not trying to white wash it. Addicts and alcoholics relapse all the time.

    Buprenorphine is technically an opioid, yes, but it is prescribed to block the withdrawal effects of much more potent opioids. It does not make a serious opiate user feel stoned. It only negates the sickness of withdrawal. Those who are on it are required to give regular urine samples to show that they are not still taking potent opiates. Perry had probably been taking it for many years as a treatment. To refer to it only as an opioid is to suggest Perry was still using.

      "Trace amounts of ketamine were found in Perry's stomach, but the coroner said high levels of the drug were found in his blood: 3.54 micrograms per milliliter. These levels led the Medical Examiner's Office to conclude that Perry's cause of death was not from his prior infusion therapy -the drug's half-life is just 3 to 4 hours- but rather ketamine that was taken in another manner. How that happened, the autopsy report said, is unknown. "

    With all his resources to combat his condition, it just goes to show how difficult it is to face down depression and anxiety coupled with self medicating. Most drugs are a bandaid not a cure. They bring a temporary respite from our troubles, but not a path to recovery. Chandler was such a great character that Matt Perry played to perfection. In a way his character was haunted by insecurities and that’s what made him relatable. It’s something that everyone struggles with and responds to differently.

They grow up and become cruel to their employees and coworkers. The obvious choice is to find a new job, and I eventually did, but I'm still a drug addict. Sometimes I think I should have just quit earlier without having a new job lined up. It would have been a hasty career move, but I wouldn't have had to deal with chronic anxiety and insomnia, which led to my addiction. Depending on his tolerance and WHERE he sourced the ketamine, it may have been a "hot shot." Street drugs are notoriously inconsistent when it comes to dosing. I'm prescribed ketamine in the form of a nasal spray for emergency pain episodes (I suffered a permanent, disabling pelvic injury during the emergency delivery of our 2nd daughter) and if used therapeutically, it CAN put you in a dream-like state since it acts as a dissociative. NEVER do these drugs recreationally, WHILE you are in a tub, pool, spa, etc. It's how A LOT of people die. I'm inclined to think he got a hot street dose. He was familiar with ketamine, so a sudden overdose on accident just doesn't seem likely.

    I remember getting pancreatitis and they had to move me from my town to Pensacola because they were filled up with patients due to covid. The ambulance people cannot give pain meds to you like they did before such as opiods like morphine or anything. They gave me a shot before I left but it was going to wear off before I could arrive. OTW the ambulance guy told me this but that he could give me ketamine and when I asked "wth is ketamine" he told me it was the future of pain control because it disassoiciates the pain from the mind. Now I had my teen and 20s during the late 90s and early 2000's when the rave scene was strong and partied using E and Acid. I knew exactly what was happening to me when he gave it to me. It basically makes you trip and I laid there and could see the highway just through the top of the rear door windows of ambulance. I just laid there and hallucinated for about an hour. I did not feel pain unless my mind just focused in on it which was hard to do so I just let myself trip. Now I did not mind tripping in my youth when I could dance and enjoy it but I sure as hell did not enjoy it while lyind there in the back of a dam ambulance. I told them I never wanted that given to me again.

    I was an assistant to a big Academy award winning actor, and I knew everything he used to drink or get high. I can't understand how his assistant didn't know he was still using, since that is what she is saying. Just saying . . .

    If you are trying to be sober, you go to meetings, maybe therapy, but you completely abstain because, you are an addict. It's the 12 step, with fellowship constantly there to help you, a sponsor, and again, not using, at all.

    Mr Perry seems to be the very definition of a G♥️♥️D GUY…
    Talented, Genuine, Smart and very much loved by those who were close to him and adored by the fans…
    Even with his personal issues/struggles he still managed to use his “dark” situation to spread light and hope to others..!!!
    Mr Perry has helped so many more than he will ever know..!!!
    RIP
