July 9th Clemson Historic Picture And Trivia Question Of The Day

  • Today’s photo is of a plane from the Clemson Flying Cadets Club as it flew in over Bowman Field with Tillman Hall in the top left of the photo.
    If you look closely, you can see 3 cars in the Tillman Hall loop that look to be late 1940 or early 1950 models...which would date this picture potentially as far back as 1945.
    Trivia Question
    There is a plane in the South Carolina State Museum from the Clemson Cadet Club. What is the plane’s name?

    Trivia Answer: Hanging from the ceiling in the South Carolina State Museum as if soaring into the wonderful blue is “Little 372,” a single seat, high wing airplane built in 1928-29 by seven students at what was then the Clemson Agricultural College.
