TOM MAKER.Have watched your videoes with great interest .Have been a carp angler for over 20 years,most of the time at the yatley circuit back in the naughty nineties met some true legends there.took a break from it all as a family to support.Started back again seriously in 2010 my son came with me on most reckys and is now hooked on the carp scene after spending a few years catching rudd,tench and bream.He was a xbox game addict and after watching some if not most off your videos he has caught numerous carp following your advise.So i say a big thank you tom maker. He has actually put me to shame once by catching a couple of high mid doubles in december while i blanked.lol.
He does make it look very easy. Nice vid.

Can’t believe people actually fish these type of waters,so money orientated,your so penned in you might as well double up on every swim. I’d be embarrassed if the angler next to me had move his rods about just for me to land a fish.
I agree mate. Where I fish, it's wild, overgrown, only a dozen are so carp... Proper carp fishing, blanking is common so just that one fish makes it more worthwhile than turning up at these overstocked and overpacked waters and shouting bosh or fucking wicked after catching your 30th 20 during a 5 day session whist spending a fortune on bait. Carp fishing is turning gay.

the trimmed pop ups you use are an edge in themselves. they behave very interestingly when disturbed if trimmed right, as if it too wobble back down instead of a smooth fall like a round bait wud. yes im an over thinker. but everyone likes a wiggle

I personally dont like fishing these sort of venues but theres no doubt he can catch fish and it makes for good videos, I dont really want to watch a half hour film of blokes blanking there arse off I do enough of that myself

@@AndrewLomax80 dumping the weights is for the fish health and safety mate. Wildlife doesn't care if there's a weight 10ft under water either, wildlife flourishes around commercial lakes for a reason

Is there a secret in casting these impact spods? I bought two and they open up far too infrequently. With Spombs, I didn't have any problems.
Had the same problem until I halved the amount of bait I was putting in it

@@lionsroar9811 the release button is enclosed on the fox spomb so you can't get bait to it, thus not effecting the opening
There crap mine was brand new second chuck broke off at the flight end gone back to the original spomb
The lake must be very weedy if you need to dump that much lead.
It had a lot of weed when I fished it 4 weeks ago.
And he needed to get the fish up in the water to stop it from going through the guy next doors line

I’ve never dumped a lead in 20+ years of carp fishing and can count on one hand how many fish I’ve lost due to the lead!!!!

I fish lakes top to bottom with weed and have hardly ever lost a fish. No more then anyone else dropping leads anyway.

Welcome to the linear circus if that was an average joe you would probably get a punch in the face for keep going over people's lines all the time. Why not just cut the number of swims and do a pre booking system... Oh no wait ... money thats why. I have never fished st johns for this reason shame cus i would like to but not under them conditions. Nice fish all the same tom and fair play if you can put up with it.
40+ fish caught, 40+ 4.5oz leads dumped in the lake. Thats about £80/90 worth of money down the drain. Guaranteed he wouldn't be doing that if he wasn't a sponsored angler and getting all his gear free. I only ever drop a lead if I'm fishing extremely weedy lakes but 4.5oz leads is mad.

exactly what l thought and thats just 1 angler dumping that many leads! he had a great result to catch that many carp, surely all this lead dumping has to have an impact on the future of fishing.

Yet another high profile angler fishing that peg on St Johns.. I fish St Johns about 4-5 times a year for the last 6 years and each session has been atleast 4 days and not 1 session was it available, and when someone went, there was a bucket in there 5 hours before..yea he's good but christ mun come on..
Good skills but i really cant warm to Mr Maker 😫 he never seems to fish a venue thats out of his comfort zone 🤷🏽♂️
I know for a fact he's fished much harder waters than linear, & done rather well...
