Omfg, I FINALLY remembered this toy! This exact Giga Pets Salem The Cat was my 1st digital pet EVER. I had it when I was 7 & omfg, I loved it! Watching this video brought back so many memories :3
I remember waking up all night long making sure he didn't die on me in the middle of the night lol. Thats usually when it would happen. I would be soo sad the next day wondering if I should give it another go or not.
This is awesome, thanks for sharing. I bought the 20th anniversary edition of Tamagotchi for my child the other day - or myself HAHA!!! And I just wanted to see the old Giga Pets and such because these things are way small now and you can ONLY feed them and clean up their poop. Nothing else at all. And I remember them having tons of controls and options and being BIGGER in size and nicer And I was right they were! Nice video!
My Salem cat was possessed, long after he would die he would wake himself up and occasionally I would just hear him playing or feeding himself. It was so creepy that I eventually quit playing with him. It creeped me out.
Hey nice videos on the GigaPets. :) I think you would really love the Komputer Koala Giga, I have one and it's soooo nice. It makes little "chuck chuck" noises, as part of the animal sound effects feature.
I had one of these when I was 12/13. It was a chimp. I took it to school and my "friend" liked it a lot so I let her borrow it for a day. Then as the days went, she still hadn't brought it back. She kept coming up with excuses such as "I forgot", "It's way in the back of my closet and I can't reach it", etc., until I finally just gave up on asking her for it and told her to just keep it. She got what she wanted but I never trusted her after that and I definitely didn't like her anymore.
hey erica in the stats option the smiley face and cross symbol mean happiness and health. when it doesnt do the right trick i believe you have to discipline it so it knows better. hope that helps i used to have a one as a kid myself :D -redburrito

My Salem Giga Pet freezes all the time, becoming completely unresponsive, and the only solution seems to be a reset. It happens every day! I know there is a pause feature but this is not it, and trying to unpause does not work. Does anyone have any idea if there is a way around this without resetting the toy? I have looked but I can't find any other solution. It's so frustrating and from my research it seems like this is a big problem for the Salem Giga Pet in general... It sucks because I love this character and this Giga Pet.

@boycotthippies Lol. 20 bucks was not considered expensive and you don't want to know how much the classic ones are haha =D. Let's just say that they are an investment that brought me to be able to have a TH-cam partnership and more so it doesn't matter.

Some kid stole mine and I told on him. His grandma whooped him too. I kinda feel bad that he was whooped like that but I got my toy back.
