Cop says, “Ain’t no point in cussing.”
Uh, I disagree. She didn’t do enough cussing. She should have said that she is just getting started and called them lying pieces of sh!t, lazy f&cks, and told them to tuck tail and go watch some TH-cam videos on how to be a detective instead of acting like a f’king a$$hole on the front porch of someone who works nights. They cops didn’t have the courtesy or respect to do their due one minute of police work before banging on her door and accusing her of having knowledge of some missing person, so why should she provide these lazy clowns with a modicum of respect.

not long after I checked into this hotel the cops were there. The lights were already off and we all agreed at 1st not to answer it. then the friend I had come over for green flushed his stash saying the staff will open it. Or he was scared the officers were hitting the door and windows with flashlights doing beat boxing with it. Saying they're not going anywhere and even shining the flashlights by the edge of the curtain to where it's hitting the wall in the room lighting it up 😂. we coped with the situation and was able chill out til the morning. I made it to work 7am. got back parked in a shopping center and when I was leaving a squad car stopped me. He said why didn't you open the door last night. I just said I didn't know it's was the police. without a warrant they got nothing. I learned this from a different time at a hotel I answered the door and the cop put his foot in the doorway immediately. And from that point you're being processed to jail. It's the same with the repo's. Lock the car behind a gate. Breaking the lock would be a B&E charge.

Well, they never provided her proof that it was actually her car. The police said there was video footage, but then said they don't have a video. 😐 Before showing up, he should have had the video or a snapshot of her car and tags as proof that she had something to do with the missing woman. Hope they find the missing woman and actual car.

Don't confuse being unprepared with flat out lying. Chances are they took a wild guess about what happened and then lied to see how she'd react. I've learned from experience to talk to police as little as possible, and believe nothing they tell you without proof. They're trained and encouraged to lie as an interrogation technique. It started from "Obviously, you know why we're here" which implies that he knows what happened and so does she. It's more likely that he's fishing for a reaction to use against her, and he's looking for anything he can use to support his hunch/unsupported conclusion. If he had the evidence he claimed, he'd have come with a warrant.

Never leave your home when they knock on your door. In general don’t answer the door. I don’t care how much of a nuisance they’re being. Without a warrant they have no right to come into your home, unless they have oxygen circumstances and in that case someone needs to be in mortal danger. That very rarely happens. Once you are outside of your home, then it’s their playing field, and you no longer have the protection of the fourth amendment for undo searches and seizures. Your home is basically your castle and actually you can tell them to leave your property whether they insist on talking to you or not. The curtilage is the legal term they use for your driveway, your yard and your doorway. If you have no fence around your property, they have the open invitation to walk up to your door and knock but if you tell them to leave, they have no legal standing to stay because now they are trespassing. They don’t ever tell you that, but that’s the truth of the matter. But outside of the house, it’s way too easy to put you in handcuffs and stuff you in the back of a car. It’s all about tyrannical manipulation and intimidation tactics

He cannot compel them to answer the door to answer their questions. They can get a warrant or they can pound sand. I would have opened the inner door, invoked 5th amendment, and told them to get a warrant, and talk to my lawyer. They have no further business at my home, and to leave. Then call the non-emergency number and give a trespass warning for them for any matter less than a warrant, and register said complaint.

  • @dericksmith2137

    It may seem minor but…
When cops start making accusations when bothering me, I stop them and ask them if they’d ‘like to reconsider their slanderous accusations’ before they continue speaking with me.
It’s small but it has made the cop pause, and continue in a less aggressive manner.
But there’s not many situations that can be made better by talking to cops. Mostly just ignore the knock, if it persists just write your attorneys number on a paper with a quick note of - I would like to cooperate further but on the advice of council, my attorney insists that I answer no questions nor make any statements at this time.
Then place the paper in the window. (Don’t even chance opening the door to give/read the paper. The cops will find some BS excuse to drag you out and cuff you. Once cuffed, despite invoking 5A the cops will continue to question, harass, and even threaten you.)
Law Enforcement is not a respectable profession! Cops can never be trusted. The cops are cowardly, narcissistic, egotistical bastards that do nothing but lie.
