Today we're gonna be taking a look at something I didn't believe existed until I payed $9.99 for it on Amazon, The Spirit Halloween movie. Yep that Halloween store made an awful movie... for some reason. But it's perfect, at least for what I do over here. Anyways sit back and enjoy what I can only imagine will become a Halloween Classic.
SEND ME BABES.. and other stuff idc

this is a great video
and not just because you're wearing my merch
the only way I know how to get into the spooky mood
*B A S E D - B R O T H E R S*
P.s. I just started watching both of you the last 2 years. 🙏🦄💜
Pli0
It was filmed where I live and that is what the store actually looks like. 😂😂😂
The transition between her slipping and the 1000 ways to die was absolutely halarious thank you Chris and keep up the work man
I thought I accidentally tapped a related video on the side!
I flew to the comments for this that was perfection 😂
I applied to work at Halloween store once. Was told I would be part of the set up crew and the store would keep the best workers to help run the store. First 2 days I showed up and didn't do much of anything, we hung a shelf or two but everyone mostly stood around. On the 3rd day, I walked in and saw someone I haven't met yet. Was asked who I was, after telling him.. I was dropped with "the person who hired you and this crew doesn't actually work here, we do not know who he is."
Apparently the owners of the store are from out of state, left for a week to handle some business, came back and noticed the door was open. Guy who hired everyone had been sleeping there. The owners didn't plan on hiring or anything until the week after. I wonder what ever happened to the guy who hired me. He seemed so well put together.
This is the wildest story I’ve read on TH-cam 😂😂
So the homeless guy hired you guys to keep him company? That’s wild AF
Honestly that checks out for a Halloween store
I feel for the guy, I would have kept him on staff. just down on his luck
Ok this is wild💀
I’m kind of impressed that this movie held back on the kiss between the main protagonist and his love interest that he’s had little to no time to develop a relationship with. That seems like the only cliche it didn’t lean into.
Well I guess she was like 18 😂
This movie was filmed in my hometown apparently! I saw the Toys r Us and then the theater and I was like oh crap that's where I grew up 🤣
Fun fact: the "Chernobyl" building by the Halloween store used to be a dope indoor paintball park
Now it's just used for dope.
Heh, that "I'm sorry your dad died of bone cancer" has got some Tommy Wiseau energy... "the Doctors told me its breast cancer"
ha ha, so anyway, how is your sexlife?
@@rmutt7441 oh hai doggy!
My dad died for it and I just that funny
Imagine if that was the quote in his yearbook from his dad.. "Sorry about my bone cancer, sport 😕🤷🏾♂️"
His father's one regret was having bonitis
i laughed so hard at the sudden Doctor From Spike TV Explaining How Someone Dies that shit was on point LMFAO
Yo fucking same 😂💀
Not seeing an employee in sight is like a requirement for opening and running a Spirit store lol
It is?
Bruh I saw employees all over the place. They were just 16 and had no idea how to do their job
I guess you could say the Spirit is run by spirits 👀🤣
I actually worked in a Spirit within the last 5 years and can assure you that they actually do use alarms, even in buildings they've never used before. These kids wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes without setting it off.
"and that kid is 7!" Had absolutely no right slaying me the way it did 😭
The old Toys R Us/Spirit Halloween and the DeSoto is in Rome, GA. It really did used to be a Toys R Us and is used as a Spirit Halloween every year. We got my kid's costumes there this past Halloween. Fun Fact, Vecna's house from Stranger Things is also in Rome.
"I got up to take a piss and didn't pause it but, can you blame me?"
And this is why i subbed. 😂
The funniest thing is that there's a former Toys R Us near me turned Spirit Halloween next to a Chinese buffet 🤣
Chattanooga?
Rough times for Rachel Lee Cooke, from playing the star of “she’s all that” to the mom in the spirit Halloween movie lol
Even worse, the mom in He’s all that
THATS HER?!
I didn't even recognize her! I think the last movie I saw her in was Josie and the Pussycats 20 goddamn years ago
At least I could probably watch this he's all that is terrible 😔
LOL I didn’t catch that before reading your comment😂😂😂 Poor Rachel…rough times indeed
This has inspired me to make a Walmart movie. Set in a real Walmart somewhere in Florida- and a crack head stole my camera.
There are some pretty scary Walmarts.
AHAHA
As a Floridian for 21 out of my almost 35 years of life, I am begging you to not do that you know not what danger you are in entering a Floridian Walmart if you must do this, do this, while donning a knight’s helmet a captain America shield, and a Batman costume (movie, accurate, of course) all while brandishing at least four cheap gas station bottles of MD 2020. You should be safe then and fit right in. The consumers will be none the wiser that you are filming a film.
the word ‘planogram’ giving me the spookiest retail flashback scare this halloween
“I’m sorry your dad died of bone cancer” best dialogue I’ve ever seen in a movie
Chris thought it was bum
The Spirit Halloweens in Salem, MA (Witch city-one of the Halloween capitals of the world) are on point! You'd never find a broken animatronic and there's tuns of employees, everything is in order. Didn't realize that wasn't everyone's experience
Everywhere else: Halloween is…cool yea. Then it’s not so much.
Salem: IT IS OUR DUTY TO LOVE AND HONOR HALLOWEEN FOREVER
they didnt have a single working animatronic at mine when i went. xD
Man u make the most cringe boring movies reviews so dam funny and interesting lol got a good laugh out of me today happy Halloween Chris and family subscribers
Really wish they had a big enough budget to make that Spirit store a portal to a Halloween world with some refugees from Toys 'R Us. That would probably be a more interesting movie, but licensing would probably be a nightmare.
All the budget was wasted on just having Christopher Lloyd on set 🤣🤣
Thank you for watching Spirit Halloween for the rest of us haha. Enjoyed the video and congrats on 100k!
Thank you!!
Having Christopher Lloyd is nothing to sneeze at. I'm not defending this dumpster fire but I would be stoked to have him in my homemade movie.
It's always a good time when he shows up!
*"...nothing to sneeze at"?*
What? Lmao
@@JustTheWarning "Nothing to Sneeze At' means something that is not an inconsequential matter, not a trifling thing. Example of use: "When Daniel was chosen to be valedictorian, he was so proud, because the honor of being chosen to represent your entire class is nothing to sneeze at."
As an exemployee of spirit halloween, no I never checked the store. I made an announcement and left.
Was I responsible? No.
Was I a stoned highschooler left alone everyday? Yup.
Spirit Halloween moving into vacant TV time slots is a sign of the times.
Holy guacamole. This channel has grown SO FAST over the last few months. Congratulations man. You’ve been putting out great videos for so long it seems like. You definitely deserve it.
thank you!!
The weird ass grandma just evaporating from a ritual leaving the child without a guardian was much more funny to me than it should have been. Partially because of Chris’s reaction but still got me good lol
Okay I know this movie is bad and all, but main character guys delivery at 5:15 got a good laugh out of me. Whether that laugh was supposed to be intentional or not is up for debate, but the way he said such a stupid line so matter-of-factly just sells it.
I laughed too hard at the rotting pumpkin bit
Dear Mr. James, I (and I think all of your fans) greatly appreciate the work you put into doing these videos. You are FAR more entertaining than the content you review. AS always, I look forward to the next video.
You're welcome
Thank you Chris!!! Long day of work and then trick or treating with my kids and now I can relax and just laugh and enjoy your content as always! Happy Halloween and hope all is well.
You're a master editor, I gotta admit that fart scene had me dying.
Thank God you were able to get a Spike TV doctor to explain what was going on.
My man said the word planogram. That's how you know he's worked in retail lol
My first thought as well
Dam, I binge watched all your content in a day. Now all I can do is wait for your new videos. Keep up the fantastic work! I love everything you do :)
Man I can’t wait for the sequel.
The bad guy possesses a circuit city.
Love your shit as usual. Thanks for giving me something to watch after 3 hours of trick or treating and making pizza and ya know whatever happy Halloween 🎃
Do you have kids or was it a dream date? Either way I'm jealous. LoL
Having at least a Chinese takeout or buffet place close to the store is easily one of the most accurate things said for sure 🤣
In the Roosevelt outdoor mall in Philadelphia ours was next to a Chinese takeout buffet
the Spirit Halloween and Mandarin parking lot combo is DEADLY
That Spirit Halloween store looks exactly like the old Toys R Us in Athens (Georgia), so I looked it up and it was filmed in Rome, Georgia. Lol.
Btw Chris, I love your videos!
As someone from Georgia, nearby, I'm not surprised.
I’m from Newnan and live in cumming lol. I’m not surprised at all
Wait really? My mom is from Rome and my grandparents live there.
(I was actually supposed to go there today but I got sick)
Me and my wife love your content Chris and are watching some of your older videos. We just realized that this movie was filmed in our town. First noticed the theater then realized the abandoned Toys R Us is ours too, and they do use it as a Spirit Halloween every year. Lol.
I appreciate you taking one for the team and sacrificing yourself so we didn’t have to watch this. Continue with the lords work good sir.
N you hooked me at the greatest bit of dialogue ever 🤣🤣
Lmao the stunt doubles for stranger things, so damn true
The most realistic part of this movie is that kid being very open about how he doesn't want people to call his step father his dad but everyone doing it anyway💀
They really tried to make the building look scary and they are walking up and it's covered in rainbows 😭😭😭.
The only people that are scared by that building are in the deep south
I worked at Spirit when this movie was being produced and it was so heavily marketed to the staff. We literally had to read a pamphlet about it during our onboarding
That 1000 ways to die transition😂😂😂 great content
Was in a Spirit Halloween yesterday and saw signs advertising this movie. I was hoping you would cover it so I wouldn't have to watch it.
Great touch with inserting the "doctor" after the fall! I spit my water across the room 🤣
I love your "Editor" bits omg so funny!
OMG! 22:35 had me dying. You actually got me to make a laugh. In a room alone. Bravo!
8:43 we cannot blame you. This is def the type of movie that you purposely go to the bathroom and take your time, hoping its almost over by the time you get back 😂
16:09 Hey Chris, in the future, you get one of those 12 ft skeletons from Home Depot
I watched it and the first thing that threw me off was the line "is he ok with you calling him frank?" Because most step parents let the step kid call them by their name it's a super common thing
Just watched this movie after finding it on Tubi and immediately searched to see if any TH-cam commentators had a video on it. First time viewing your channel, subscribed 😂😂😂
*CHRISCHRISCHRISCHRISCHRIS I just remembered a hell of a doozy, if not the biggest, wtf early 00s show for ya! Remember Superstar USA?! You gotta do a video on that! I still can’t believe that was a thing!*
22:34 “the skull was traveling at a rapid speed and suddenly stopped by the ground” lmfaooo 🤣🤣🤣
This is my new favorite channel thanks for the regular uploads!
Congrats on the 100k subs, can I say one thing! In your videos you sometimes mention another content creator making "the same video" and that's the reason you don't make one one on the topic, but here's the thing! I've just discovered your channel in the past week and I've also just discovered this type of content, so I say do it! Even if others have made one on the same topic! Here's to a million-billion subs! :) :)
I need more retail store movies: a Dollar General war movie, an Office Depot grand space opera, an Old Navy roadshow musical...
Rachel Leigh Cook went from starring in “She’s All That” to this movie. Oof.
Josie and the Pussycats is a goddamn masterpiece as well!
It was kinda funny seeing the kids walking around after close, there aren't really many places to hide and we had to scour every last inch of the store for remaining customers
Your commentary is amazing. Got me crackingUPUP 💀
the old toys r us used as a spirit halloween actually is in my town.. i can confirm it hasn’t been touched since this movie’s filming.
landlords being cartoonishly evil is the most realistic part of this movie.
I used to be the middle school kid that used to go to high school parties. My local neighbourhood friends all happen to be older than me and i went to a different school system. I'd go to their parties and lie about my age if anyone asked. Then when i tried to brag about that stuff at my actual school, nobody would believe me lol
Bro watching your vids off LSD be hilarious asf, keep it up you funny asf💪🏻
11:11 when you explained how Spirit Halloweens are always in the most rundown of all areas, yet they missed the Chinese Restaurant close by. That's definitely the Spirit Halloween by my area for the past 20+ years 🤣🤣🤣
Edit:
A "Party City" sequal would rock
Omg I squealed when the mom put on that jacket. I almost bought that jacket from target last year, but then I realized it looked stupid as fuck. Lololol
Omfg 🤣🤣🤣 that 1,000 ways to die call back *chefs kiss* superb
20:27 What…that was the fist bump boo-yaw!! That had me dying!!! 😂
Congrats on 100k!! I'm so happy people are finding your channel, you are so underrated. Here's to the next milestone!
Spirit Halloween execs after seeing this review: we should open a location in Chernobyl.
Another great video Chris! I find you very comforting to watch especially when I’m having a bad day. I’m also commenting for the algorithm, I really feel you deserve all the success and I’d love if more channels like yours were able to thrive! Happy Hallowe’en! 🎃
Better ending: kid sacrifices his dads picture and his dads spirit appears and fights the bad spirit. Then has a cringe cliche moment with his son. Then convinced his son to be ok with the stepdad. Then poofs and appears in front of the step dad, shoves the lights in his hands, and says “put the ducking lights up…and thank you for watching over my Christmas wife (que the Santa ho ho ho for double irony) and my wonderful son”. Then cut to the boy helping his new little sister scene and camera slowly pans out revealing the entire neighborhood and across the street you see ghost dad peeping in the window of the neighbors to add a context of dad being a weirdo that way you subconsciously end the movie liking the new stepdad.
"and that kid is seven" - I'm dyin' 🤣
The building looks like an abandoned 7-11 😂 oh btw nice video Chris! I love all your content and telling my friends too 💕
Yo the million ways to die snippet you put in there was hilarious lol
your attitude and comments always crack me up. keep doing what you're doing
There’s literally a Chinese food Buffett right next to our local spirit of Halloween hahaha
"the stunt doubles for the stranger things kids".....sir...bravo! its wit like that, that keeps me subbed to your channel. ACCURATE! FUNNY! ENTERTAINING.....ACCURATE.
That little girl was like “Sorry your dad died of bone cancer, why didn’t he just drink milk every day like normal bodied people?” 😂
You know what I'd love to see a parody horror movie do? Have one of those fortuneteller things, have a character ask it a question that isn't a yes/no question, and the fortuneteller prop inside just comes to life and get angry at them and yell "IT HAS TO BE A YES OR NO QUESTION, STUPID!" and then immediately go back to being a lifeless prop exactly like it was before. I don't want the characters to scream at that either, I just want them to be shocked and then look at each other like none of them want to ask another question even tho one of them has to.
Was listening to your old videos at work, now can relax at home watching a new video.
15:23
The kid shitting himself and getting caught seemed like an edit. That was hysterical 😂
Been with you since 500 followers! Congratulations on 100k you deserve it.
Sad spoons didnt make it, found yall around the same time.
he’s been let out of the basement
@@ChrisJamesTV hope he makes another run at it. Now that hes been re-educated.
The spike doctor was golden
Lol…the the sequel…party city!?! Oh man your reactions/commentary to this crap was priceless.
the cut to the spike tv doctor was the best😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂dude your commentary is hilarious thank you sir for the laughs
That Chinese buffet joke needs more recognition
So?... this is why I keep seeing spirit meme costume all over the place lol
There's an episode of Gravity Falls that follows a very similar premise and flow. Cept that was 22 minutes and enjoyable.
"We see where most of the budget went to for this movie" haha so true. He easily cost 75k of the 100k that went into this movie.
Rachel Leigh Cook too! I wish she got better roles these days, she deserves it after the masterpiece that is Josie and the Pussycats
It’s 12:04am I’m sitting in my driveway having a rum and coke
And when Chris said
“And that kid is seven” 9:39
I spit my rum and Coke all over the driveway 😂😂
hahahaha wtf is even happening in this movie. Thanks for another great video dude!
Definitely my favorite creator on this app. Thanks for the vids hoss
"Princesses *SUCK* "
That was so unnecessary that it took me out. Bro ratioed his step sis for no reason lol
No way that's a coincidence when they show that black pickup truck in the Spirit parking lot that looks eerily similar to Marty's in BTTF in a Christopher Lloyd movie.
14:29 So I had to look up this kid's shirt. "Got any sodium hyprobromite? NaBrO".
