  • First part of the 1956 Chevy pickup build is going to be the chassis update, and the first part of that will be the front suspension. In this video I go over the initial dollar numbers and how to remove a Jaguar IFS from a donor car so you can either copy the build or get a cheap IFS for your hot rod project.
Also, if you want to keep the IFS front outrigger mounts and not cut them you can unbolt the sway bar end links from the lower control arms, drop the suspension, and then go back and unbolt the sway bar with the IFS out of the way. Those sway bar bushing bolts on the frame are a pain to get to with the outrigger mounts in the way, but it can be done. I don't have the patience LOL.

Great video man! I was catching up on the Buick videos, especially the ones when you installed the jag front end.
This one is super helpful as well and another great series. You’re videos are an amazing help!
I did end up picking up a 56 oldsmobile r88 and I’m hoping the frame is somewhat similar to the buick so i can try to work it in a similar way.

Thanks for watching! I am trying to teach as much as I can from what I have learned over the years, it isn't always entertaining but I am hoping it will help. You can modify the Olds frame rails to straight rails the same way I did on the 55 Buick if you want, then you can put whatever IFS you want in there, jaguar, crown vic, corvette, etc.

@@rust_hoarder_garage Trust me, it is VERY entertaining!
I have learned a lot by watching the way you tackle things.
All the tips and golden nuggets you give in the videos have really been helpful in planning for my build.
Thank you for always taking the time to answer my questions! If you’re ever in Colorado I owe you a couple beers haha 🍻

Hey man I have a 56 buick special I'm looking in to changing the front end like you did. What year models jaguars can I use?

1987 or older series 3 XJ6 or any year XJS, I think the XJS was made up until around 1995.
