I think what many are missing is that although it is not antisemitic to critique the Israeli government (many Israelis do it often!), but calling for the destruction of Israel when the majority of Jewish people live there IS antisemitic. Where are they supposed to go? Also, when universities receiving state and/or federal funding use those resources to put forth an ideology (and only protect some students, not all) that creates a hostile environment and is a Title VI violation. I am a professor and am horrified that some professors think its OK to put forth an oppressor-oppressed ideology while ignoring thousands of years where Jews were oppressed. There is pain on both sides but ALL students should have equal access to education. Why aren't universities trying to educate students about the history of both sides? So little understanding and critical thinking, which is supposed to be the point of education to understand different points of view.

good point. it's all about indoctrination into an ideology (woke) which is toxic as all hell. Critical thinking is despised and not taught. the reality of situations are lied about, distorted or omitted entirely because narrative is all that matters. One: Why were there no student protests against that pogrom, in which more than 1,000 Jewish civlilains were murdered, some being raped, tortured, burned alive, decapitated, while within hours of the massacre, days before israel had initiated any retaliatory military operations, all campus protests were directed aginst the country that had breen the target of the attack? Secondly: There 193 sovereign states in the world, many of them with human righrts records far worse than Israel's, and unlike israel, with poltical regimes that do not subnit themselves to regular, free elections Two of these regimes, China and Myanmar, are known to have persecuted and murdered their Muslim minorities, yet they are never the target of campus protests, anymore than is Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, or the atrocities committed by the Iranian theocracy against its oppoents.. My question is, why the selective outrage? Could it be it that these protests are not so much an expression of pro Muslim solidarity, (for why else the silence over China and Myanmar) as one of hatred of Jews?
I hope these "investigations" into allegations (whether or not caught on video red-handed) are honest and timely investigations that truly shed light on these incidents

Thank God for this woman. She speaks the truth. I am a former graduate of UCLA and this up rising against jewish students break my heart. Unfortunately the responses has been too slow with much talk but no ending to this anti semitism. Do we not remember what happened during World War ll? The Holocaust? Has this new cancel culture destroyed our memory of the Holocaust? Jewish hatred? This is a human race lesson that should never be forgotten so that this horror cannot happen again!

You either know little to nothing about the Holocaust or you are lying to justify your jew hate. It is a war, that Israel didn't start. Yes, there is destruction and death and hunger. Yes, even children are dying. But speaking as a German who gets to live in a free and democratic Germany, I am glad that the Nazis lost. Do you think the allied forces didn't reduce german cities to rubble or kill hundreds of thousands of civilians including children? But not of the representatives asked about that. Educating the students on antisemitism should also look at the deep roots of what is called Islamophobia which is really a form of calling anybody who criticizes Islam as racist.

Perhaps, if the majority of your professors were actually teaching academics and not just promoting DEI and Social Justice, none of this would have happened in the first place. It seems to me that if the college was to only receive money from the student and parents via tuition and bank loans, and not from state or federal government grants and loans, then I believe the colleges would insure these students' classes and ceremonies would continue unhindered.
