dude first time viewer, super impressed! im at that stage in my photography where ive moved on from thinking im good, to knowing im terrible but have no idea why. this helped a lot, thank you!
I know. The conversion can be frustrating. I almost miss the 35mm film days when a 35mm lens was 35mm. However, both my Nikon D5100 and D5600 produce superior image quality over my 35mm film cameras, without the need for film and film processing. @@Boogie.702

@@Boogie.702 nice, one thing that annoyed me about live view on Nikons is that it takes ages to take the photo coz the mirror flips back down, back up, takes the pic, flips back down and then flips up again 😭 I decided to get a D7200 which doesn’t do that but doesn’t have a touch screen which is a bit of a trade off
Hi bro! I commented on your video 6 months ago. Now I’ve got my first prime lens 35mm. Thanks to you. ♥️ I’ve a question! Can we use it on gimbal?? Does it provide the Image Stabilization?
@@Boogie.702 my d5100 is getting on it's last leg I'm thinking about getting a Nikon d300s do you think it would be a good option or what would you suggest for around $163
A crop sensor is smaller than the standard 35mm size, which introduces a crop factor to the photos these cameras take. This means that the edges of your photo will be cropped for a tighter field of view.
@@Boogie.702 lawyer speak. I use fujifilm cameras and I could care less about the ratio. I used 35mm film cameras for 50 years a not once was there a reference to a crop factor. All this crop factor crap is so the full frame users can fell better about using expesive, heavy and over priced equipment.
That AF confirmation beep 🤢 So annoying even watching this 😂. Btw the 35mm f1.8 DX also works on FX bodies, too 😉 Only the far corners are black there, but totally usable. That and the 50mm f1.8 were my first primes back when I started with the D5200. Now I'm on a D850 (best camera in the world!) and only rarely use the 35/50s but my beloved 40mm f1.4 from Sigma. THAT is a beast of a lens!
The difference between crop sensor & full frame cameras is the physical size of the sensor, full frame are 35mm × 24mm while crop sensors are smaller that's why your Focal Length changes
@@Boogie.702 yes. Thank you. So im that case to get a view of 50mm lens with a crop sensor camera i need to use a 35mm ? As 35mm ×1.5 will give about 50 mm . Ami correct ?
In my case I bought this lens some months ago and I didn't like it. INSANE AMOUNTS of chromatic aberration, and I am finding the sharpness to be far worse than my manual focus AF 50mm 1.8. I also found the autofocus motor to be much slower than expected. I use a Nikon D3400.

The 35mm F/1:8 DX is my second favorite. I get my best images with my 50mm F/1:8 FX lens. Yes, it works on a DX camera!
Both are excellent lenses, I like the 35mm because it's more like a 50mm on the crop sensor camera
