Great reaction (and thanks for losing the mask, so much better without👍). Your interpretation of the visuals in this video mirror what a lot of people also thought the first time they saw it. Whether it does or doesn't reference the nuclear bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima - nobody can really say for sure ... some might think it references the fire bombing of Tokyo which also killed over 100,000 people. What we can say for sure is that the song has a positive message about even when everything is so bad it can't seem to get any worse and you just can't see a future, it will not last for ever. "No matter how long the night, the morning will arrive". They go from trying to imagine a colour in the night sky to painting the sky in rainbow colours and finally illuminating the whole world in rainbow colours.🌈🤘🦊 I would recommend the live performance at PIA Arena in April 2013 for another reaction to a very special performance.
👍👍A great MV and reaction. 🦊 🖖❤ Also check out the other very special versions: BABYMETAL - Monochrome - Piano ver. / THE FIRST TAKE Babymetal - Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs
The complete "Monochrome" trilogy is - 1. Official MV, 2. live (PIA version), 3. The First Take channel (piano version) Thanks for your great reaction.
Some, including myself believe "that monochrome firework" is a metaphor for the atomic bomb blat that destroyed the city of Hiroshima which is also happens to be the home town of Sumetal. It's clear in the video that there is a city scrape that is in ruin and the tree you called the "tree of life" is the the survivor tree called hibakujumoku that incredibly remained standing after the blast and remains alive to this day. The lyrics questions "During the dusk of Ragnarok what are we to see"? According to Norse mythology , the world will end at Ragnarok, a time of great destruction. The whole video is black and white till the very end when scene of the tree that stands in a barren landscape all the sudden bursts into colour when Su sings "Just Smile". As with many of Babymetal songs the message is positive, here it is no matter how bad things are or get there is always going to be a better time.
I originally thought so too, but I realized “monochrome fireworks” is better interpreted as “a major tragedy”. This song is really about overcoming a tragic moment in one’s life, loss of a loved one (warmth that vanishes), loss of hope (the bright star that vanishes), etc. All of which will feel like “Ragnorak”, end of days, in the moment. But, no matter how long the night, the morning will come. So just smile! I think in the MV, it’s just using the imagery of Hiroshima as an example of a major tragedy. That is why Su-metal was surprised fans thought the song was sad, when it actually carries a hopeful message for a better tomorrow. 🤘🦊
Never ever be ashamed of how you speak. Take pride in having a proper dialect and not speaking like you are from nowhere with some watered down standardized sound. How utterly boring and stagnant the world would be if we all spoke the same way. Inspiration from different cultures and different places is what lest humanity grow and evolve. BabyMetals music is a good example of what happens when you let inspiration from different places, sounds and cultures blend it into something new and inspiring. Like they ignore the metal elitists trying to put everyone into genres and saying you can't mix this and that and still be metal. Ignore the language elitists saying that some dialects are better or more civilized than others. That being said I am going to be a “Live elitist” and claim that the live versions of monochrome are better. There is perhaps a bit more story in the videos that makes them worth watching, but not to often 😁
