I spent so much time trying out which games work and which doesn't and when I get one to finally work I move on to another game and see if I could get it to run. It feels so rewarding getting a game to run when it really wasn't supposed to at the start. That's just me.
I was like that with epic store titles. When I finally figured out how to have cloud saves sync'ed. . . . such ecstasy >u< Next up is to see if I can get Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to run on it. I never emulated a switch game before, so this should be fun.
@@Hadeks_Marow yeah when it comes to breath of the wild though I’d recommend the Wii U version as that has an uncapped framerate. I’m pretty sure tears would just be at 30 but hey it works. Once I emulated one switch game I tried to do other Nintendo exclusive games.
I haven't emulated *too* much outside of games I already own on more current systems, but I have tried to get old games and patches for games I already have on Steam to work correctly. I wish I had the time to become fluent with Linux so I could cut the time down, but having fun figuring it out regardless.

Inadvertently, much the same games as you! Dead Cells and Hades especially fit so well for the machine it almost feels second nature. I have enjoyed a lot of the Mega Drive/Genesis Classic Collection as well since they fit like a glove on the console too!
I was surprised to find that MW5: Mercenaries plays pretty well on the Deck. Only ran one mission but I kept a steady 60 fps, looking forward to experimenting further with it
I just know about this the upcoming Next-Gen PSP(PlayStation Portable) like: PlayStation Vita X and PlayStation Duo does Sony Games/Interactive Entertainment will have the rebirth of this handheld console in the future

I keep saying the 8th generation is the GOAT for video game generations. Not the beloved 4th or 6th. Heck, the 2nd gen with Pac-Man is beloved by folks born in the 60s and 70s. But one of the bad things the 8th gen brought other than micro-transactions is the games are HUGE. Games are over 100 GB easily these days. I want to play Shenmue III and Final Fantasy VII Remake although I'm aware the former is the worst Shenmue game. They're both over 100 GB. Tekken 7 alone is nearly 80 and that's just a fighting game. One TB might only fit less than 10 games. Upgrading the internal to 1 TB + 1 TB microSD seems mandatory. If you want as many as 30+ modern games on it, we'll need 2 to 3 TB microSD cards ASAP. Gawd, I love my PS Vita slim and Switch Lite. The file sizes for them are reasonable. I used my old 128 GB microSD for my modded Vita and was able to download 30 Vita games, 20 PS1 games, and 13 PSP games. Still have 30 GB left. Got a 256 GB microSD for only $20 from OfferUp and my Switch has 18 games with 40 GB still left. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe is reasonable at 7 GB. This is what scares me with the next Nintendo handheld. A 2 TB of storage on a Steam Deck doesn't seem sufficient enough if the average game size is over 100 GB. You'll be lucky to store 15 triple A games with 2 TB. Not to mention all the ROMs from previous gens that can be anywhere from 1 GB to 50 GB. NBA 2K23 on the Switch is well over 50 GB. I bought it because it's like one-third the size of the PS5 version and over half the size of the PC version. I can live with the crappier graphics that's still on par to NBA 2K11 on the 360 and PS3. I guess Vita and Switch will be the last handhelds to have reasonably-sized games.
I can't imagine needing 15 AAA games downloaded onto my system at once, but I understand if you don't have a great internet connection then you might want to keep everything downloaded.

Great list, added a couple of titles to my wishlist! I'm searching for a new game to concentrate on after finishing Disco Elysium, I was going to give Wargroove another go (I found it a bit frustrating the first time I played it on Switch, but it was probably just me) ahead of the announced sequel
He basically just plays a bunch of indie titles that barely use any of the steam decks power, may aswell just get a switch is far more portable. I use my deck to play AAA titles like god of war, cyberpunk & Spider-Man & all RE titles as then I can make the most the tech available, it’s like a portable PS4 which has made gaming far more accessible
Because once the Switch reaches the end of its lifecycle, and Nintendo moves on to their next console (whenever that will be), you may not necessarily have those games available to you on their next console (which is touching the subject of backwards compatibility which is its own separate topic). However, you still have access to those titles on your Steam Deck and really, any modern device that runs Steam.
Ergonomics my dude. I have an oled and a grip case and I still prefer the steam deck. Also a lot of my steam library is older games that I find more entertaining than my Nintendo and the extra storage doesn’t hurt. That’s just me though.
Just found out Steam is dumping Windows 7 Jan 2024. So I'm dumping STEAM Seriously Goodbye Steam... your UI is terrible for blind people, confusing, and breaks the Windows decorations.

Probably not the most popular choice, but I've been loving NFS Unbound on steam deck. It says it's unsupported but it still runs well on deck for me.
Could you go into detail what you mean by "so well" here? Last time I've tried, we had to stick with lowest settings 30 FPS. Thanks!

All of these shouldn't hit 60fps if that's what you're wondering. Probably at least 3 hours for battery also as a minimum.

Also, Switch versions are always more expensive. After about 10 game purchases, you've paid for the base Deck.

Cause Steam Deck has a million or more indies to choose from plus you can play Triple AAA 3rd party games on it
