Yea you can tell they have a great bond... That surprised me a lot, and visibly it worked out even better than smacking a horse... I hope to be half as good a rider as she is for her horse

Waw loved Both ponies. Loved the way Lucy rode though, little too far back , but I loved how she reassured her pony and stroked him at that refusal. That's love 💖
I did not like how heavy-handed and unforgiving with her grip Amy was. Riders just do not know how to be soft in the hands any more, even with more difficult-to-control horses. I have a very hard mouthed horse, and I can control him even with a light hand. It is all about how well you can ride and how much compassion you have for the horse.
Tbh it's very hard to judge a horse without riding it yourself. Some horses need that constant contact, she definitely wasn't holding tight enough to hurt the horse. It's a very athletic and forward little pony and she rides it very nicely. Some horses do well with a big release and some do well with a minimal release. It all depends on the individual, she isn't hauling on the mouth so I don't see any problem.
Loads of people are saying to give the horse a reassuring pat if they refuse and not to beat them with a whip and they're right, you don't have to beat them with a whip,tap them on their shoulder with it, patting them just teaches them to refuse because you pat horses for something good that they do so from the horse's point of view your telling him/her that it is good to refuse a fence and if you refuse then I will give you a pat🙄😕
Hayden MistStream Crops aren't to say they did something wrong, they're to buck up your leg. Do not tap or hit your horse with the crop because they didn't something wrong
it depends on the horse, if they have a habit of stopping or stop for no reason then you wouldn’t pat them but if you were the one who put them in an awkward position to jump or they are just telling you they can’t jump it then you would pat them. the rider clearly knows her pony well and they jumped it amazing the second time
Lucy has a very good leg, although she is leaning much too far back. Yes, you need to drive the horse with your seat, but she is interfering too much for the horse to be able to use himself well enough. She needs to get off his back until up to the last few strides up to the fence, and then she needs to LIGHTLY push with her seat. This is kind of ridiculous.
I love how she gave Irish hotshot a little reassuring stroke instead of hitting him with the crop like most do .

That’s what I do with my horses I also say “shhhh it’s okay girl/boy” then I’ll give a pat on the neck and keep petting then do the jump
irish hotshot was the best pony ive ever had, so lucky to have him! which i could do poys again on him this year
