I also went by ICE 😤 train, it was a nice experience but it arrived half an hour late. The connecting train was cancelled anyway so I just had to wait for the next. 😅🙈

Congratulations on your new car! It seems at last VW is finishing the cabins with the luxury you would expect of the price. From my calculations, you were averaging 2.5 miles per kWh (the measurement we use in the UK), according to your display of 24 KWh per 100 km, if I have done the calculations correctly. This seems very similar to my car - a Genesis Electrified G80, which I was driving in France a couple of weeks ago. The higher European cruising speeds 130 Kmh as apposed to the max 70 mph, or less on the congested UK motorways, coupled with winter temperatures see the economy tumble on my car from 3.5 to 2.5 miles per kwh. It will be interesting to see how much the economy improves in the summer on your ID7... Very good video, and an impressive car!
Yes, every +10 km/h increases consumption by 10 % at least, but frequent speed limits and roadworks don't allow for an equal increase of average speed.

ID.7 (and all other ID-models) prices just crashed. In Finland Max+Travel packet+blue color is now 4090€ cheaper that yesterday. Just great for those already ordered. -> Got message that price drop will affect cars in delivery pipeline, which is very good news!
How was the night driving? I got information that IQ.Lights have been upgraded for the ID.7 from 11 elements to 18. Also main/high beam has 2 additional leds for distance.
Why not use them on the highway if you have the matrix headlights? 🤔 I use them all the time on my ID4. I don't want to hit moose on the highway at 100-120 km/h 😬

i think it will sell well. did you get some info about how well it is selling or how long the waiting list is now? maybe after the ID.3 etc. people don't expect that much anymore from VW. the bad software and interior quality was very underwhelming. with the ID.7, they fixed most of the issues and delivered a great package.
I love the little “screen” in front of the steering wheel. Hope VW implements this in more cars. Also, the Volvo small ev suc it’s coming out with could benefit from that
Did you opt for iq lights? How do they compare against the id4 , I ask due to injury I’m clinically night blind (eg extreme poor night , so what’s nit illuminate blends in to the background of just shapes) so good headlights are a must
@@KDR816 I would say 20 or 30 minutes is a significant difference also in real life. But anyway, it's ok, certainly no deal breaker. There are many other aspects to an EV.
@@itekani 10% (90-100%) is around 7KW. With 50 KW it's around 8 minutes. Twice faster will be 4 minutes 🤷. I travelled 7000km in the last 6 months around Europe on my BMW i4 and never had a need to charge above 90% on the DC while roadtripping. Also I feel sorry for the battery charging >90% on the DC. Most of the time you do AC. You don't care about a few DC charges a year. How often do you do >400km in one day? As a real user I don't care about the DC charging speed at 90% at all (when it's okay). I don't even know what my power is at 90% 😄 I wouldn't worry about 4 minutes difference at % I almost never visit.
And that was first class too! But that's some kind of saver fare with a fixed connection. If you pay full price (about 290€ first class) you can just get on any train within a couple of days either side of your planned connection, which is very nice.
@@BatteryLife Europeans are lucky. We have a new train that goes from Orlando FL to Miami, a 4 hour trip, for over $300 🥹 I think the ID7 is the prettiest ev sedan on the market. But I’d still take the ID3 if VW were smart enough to bring it here. And corner the small car ev market.

I’m an ID.3 and first time EV owner. I love the car but HATE the interior interface and driver augmentation. It feels like it was designed by someone who’s never driven before and it was poorly tested. Yes, I had heard poor reviews before ordering it but I hoped that was simply fussy reviewers. I really hope that the ID.7 is the start of improvements. However I’m definitely not going back to ICE.
And not to forget the trunk space and opening. In the ID.7 you can store about 3 xxl suitcases. If model 3 had another trunk design it would be perfect 😇
The infotainment screen is way too big. Its great when you're using it, but when idol its massive and disrupts the streamline of the dash. If it could foldaway it would be perfect. As to the exterior, the wheels are wimpy. A good wheel tire combination can make or break the look of a car. Those ugly wheels do not do this car any justice. I thought the ambient lights on the door turned safety red when opened. Too bad the ambient light doesn't have an animate feature like BMW.
"So many new features" - yeah but the app still can't do anything! You can't lock/unlock the car, open the windows in the app, etc. 100% a component is missing and this is a no-go for such an expensive car.
@@abraxastulammo9940 this is a stupid argument. Every other brand offers this feature and it is simply a nice feature. Turning on the lights with the app is also a thing that other brands can do. And no: I am not talking about Tesla. Mercedes allows to create virtual keys that can be shared with other people (eg. when you borrow your car to a friend etc.) These are just core features that I expect from such an expensive car. But VW said: FU. They will also say FU to version 4.0 once they rolled out Android Automotive.
Is it possible to enable preheating? In myBMW app I use it to see the current charge, build routes and precondition. There are other features but I don't use them much. Oh also the remote 3d view sometimes.

It makes no difference, only on TH-cam. In real life ±5-10 mins once a long journey don't bother.
