Nadal’s forehand is really more similar to Federer’s than you think. The only real mechanical differences are that he hits semi-western to Federer’s eastern and he finishes over his head usually. But when Nadal flattens out or Federer hits a buggy whip, their forehands look really similar.
@@august25th38 Kyrigios does if he gets his head together, which I don't have much faith in. His level of talent is up there with the best right now, and multi-slam potential.

Out of these, only Tomic, Santoro and maybe Gulbis can be called unique forehands. Gulbis's famous Flying Eagle is simply a combination of the tennis-class "point to the ball" plus extreme Western grip, a la Nadal (i.e. everybody else in this clip, like Mannarino, Paire, etc). Santoro is unique without question, no explanation needed. How the dude has effectively no forehand and still had more than a respectable career, I will never know. Tomic is unique by virtue of his no back swing whatsoever. Where does he generate all that power, again, I'll never know. If anything, I think Medvedev is unique, because he obviously has an extreme Western grip (you can't not have it to compete with the likes of Nadal, Djokovic). But he always finishes above shoulder, which is unfathomable. A normal Western grip forehand should naturally finish by the hip, that's how the spin is generated.
Have to agree... it’s like so many people in the comment section asking why Nadal is not included... his forehand is nothing unusual... it’s just a reverse forehand... almost everyone has this shot in their locker... Djokovic and Thiem use it too. The only unusual thing about Nadal’s forehand is the frequency in which he uses it
Gulbis used to be one of my favourite players. I liked the style of his play and his charisma on and off the court. Sorry that he couldn’t sustain his level because of, among other things, injuries.
