    Most players in the last two decades hit the FH with the same technique, more or less. What are the criteria for measuring how good the FH is? We can talk about power, consistency, depth, spin … a lot of aspects. It’s impossible to measure and rate it. I would not rank the players but rather just mention those with good FH.

    Djokovic ???? I don’t think players even fear his FH at all. Not one player named his FH when asked of shots they fear on tour. Sampras is top 3 for sure. He had the best running FH of all time. Every player feared his FH and would avoid it at all costs. When it went to that side he was so dominant and usually won the point. Nadal at #2 is a stretch IMO it’s a great shot but not necessarily feared like Sampras or Delpo or Gonzalez or Fed. Agassi FH is overrated he started getting overpowered on that side later in his career like someone else mentioned. His famous US open match with Blake was a perfect example. Blake had a better FH. Agassi for timing and taking it early and angles yes but not feared like it was when he first came on tour. Lendl should be higher IMO. And Borg should be on the list he revolutionized the FH

    With all due respect, I did not find this list very historical. I mean, where's Rod "The Rocket" Laver, a man with such a booming, heavy forehand that his dominant-side arm muscles made him look like a human crab? And no Bjorn Borg, father of the modern forehand. And only one clip of a rather sad-looking, post-prime Ivan Lendl, a man known for his superb fitness, one of the first "fitness freaks" in tennis. Sure, finding slow-motion footage of past greats is impossible, but why call it historical if it's taken exclusively from a list of the most popular players in the last few decades of the game? Just my opinion, but I think I have a point here, no?
    P.S. And Sampras? Serve, yes. Volley, yes. Forehand? Mighta been good, mighta been great, but greatest of all time? Uh...no.

      Your list of players with top 10 greatest tennis forehands in History is based on....my question is what determines the best forehand player in history....what are criterias? Is this a fluidity and effortless technique? The most forehand winners hit throughout the particular player's career? The highest consistency combined with high spin rates and speed of the ball? And what about players that played in the different eras such as Rod Laver, Pancho Gonzales, Bjorn Borg? Otherwise the list is fine...maybe except Gael Monfils who is in my opinion not a forehand dominant player...I would choose Matteo Berretini or Andy Roddick or James Blake or Jack Sock or even Nick Kyrgios instead

      Horrible list. Monfils, djokovic, Murray shouldn't be on the list. Djokovic is best of this era hands down at this point but not based on his forehand. Top forehands should be things other players avoided like the plague and dominated eras. Borg, lendl, sampras, agassi, federer, nadal all qualify. Honorable mentions for players who had truly elite forehands but lacked the ability to dominate otherwise go to courier, moya, del Potro, gonzo.

    • @jaizjeeson2180
      @jaizjeeson2180 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Skiiiiiifreeeeeee Djokovic definitely has one of the best forehands on tour right now. Perhaps the third best in fact. So while his game isn't based on his forehand, his forehand is nonetheless amazing in its own right. And I don't really think we're looking at achievements in this list, but technique, power, aesthetic. So Delpo, Verdasco, etc. definitely deserve to be here for the pure technical prowess of their forehands.
      For me, I'd go so far as to say that Sampras doesn't have an amazing forehand: nothing special about it like Agassi's (taking balls on the rise). But that's just an opinion. Bjorg definitely deserves to be here more than him. And I don't think Murray deserves to be here either.

      @@thebigmonstaandy6644 Agassi is a Bolletieri Academy player aka the big forehand academy (Courier, Krickstein) so I don't know how you can call his forehand "average". Blake forehand was a hit or miss shot, not very much security in it. Ferrero's was a deadly weapon for sure. Hewitt's was actually average, his main asset was his never die attitude, he didn't have a killer shot in him.

      Yup. He was a S&V player (one of the greats), but his groundies were in the "good-not-great" category. He could _probably_ beat me, though...with a frying pan and blindfolded.
