If they spent their 10 years of actually drawing without tracing, they'd have the level of a great artist, instead, they traced and didn't learn
They´d probably make something close to a career of a studio animator with just a tad bit more skill as they need to be able to replicate styles based on what cartoon/movie they´re helping make.

10 years.... They can 100℅ draw something if they just actually tried. They have 10 years of anatomy practice from all that tracing... However, I bet it's just too hard to actually put the effort in.... Sad & disheartening. I just shrivel thinking about 10 years of theft like that....

It's kinda sad though honestly because they should be able to draw after 10 years of tracing but they dont bother trying and based of watching a few friends whi have traced sometimes it seems as if it takes more effort to just trace the drawing they pick..

I have the *shakiest* hands ever,even when I'm sketching traditionally on paper.
I guess it's because I wet my hands before and after,learned it in art class that I should wait 15-30 mins before washing my hands when drawing because it'll all end in jeopardy if I wash them first.

How does someone even get away with tracing for that long? Just crazy.
Unknown.
At the time when they would have started reverse image search wasn't a thing and tracing wasn't as common/ well known of an issue so no one would have called them out for it. Then by the time people would start to notice something was off they probably had built up enough of an audience who didn't know/ believe such a thing would happen to shield them from any accusations.
Plus the traces arts looks pretty convincing when you're not really focus on the line work.
But it has been 10 years and the lines aren't really natural after that long.

Squiggly lines are.... something I made all the time (one of the many reasons is that if it's "digital", I drew them with finger on my small phone) so...yeah.
Hey everyone, this is FireFlea-San. Some of you may be aware that my previous journal (the one Cringe linked) was taken down by the deviantart admins because Nads6969 reported it. So it seems I cannot make a journal with the immense amount of proof regarding her theft, but Nads is still allowed to continue stealing. She now has multiple DMCA strikes to her account, BUT it still active. when i saw "10 year legacy" and "stole from >45 people" my first thought was "how?!? how have they gotten away with it all?"
i guess i got used to seeing the "uses MS Paint bucket fill and doesn't even bother to fill in the dots/spaces the paint bucket didn't reach" caliber of tracer/art thief/troll because i wasn't expecting someone whose tracings _could_ pass as original work on first glance

I haven’t been following much on whatever art theft that is going on lately within DeviantArt so this is actually the first time I’m hearing about super tracers. And my god the level of absurd dedication to not learn art is mind blowing.
Hi everyone, I'm FireFlea-San. So, DeviantArt has TAKEN DOWN my journal saying it has "violated their Terms and Conditions". Yup... my journal showing proof of Nads6969 theft and traces apparently was a violation of dA's rules, but apparently Nads is still allowed to keep stealing and tracing, regardless of the multiple reports against her. BTW, we're up to 60 artists that Nads' has stolen from.
Thank you for this. I shared it with my SM fans who also do their own work, and brought this to light. Thanks again DC, you do some amazing work!

I had loved her art. The fact that she's a thief is heartbreaking and infuriating.
The time she spent tracing for over 10 years, she could have been improving and developing digital art skills! I do traditional art cause digital art scares me but I am trying. It took 7+ years to actually draw something good through practice and feedback!

Because deviant art doesn't actually care. She has been reported over 100 times by now and they still haven't IP banned her.
Back then if you got your work stolen by a poster of DA, they would've automatically banned that person right away and they wouldn't been able to rejoin. Blame the owners who got lazy after a while.

Wow. It's one thing to trace when you're just starting out, a lot of people including myself first learned to draw by tracing. But 10 years? That's insane. To put that in perspective, in 6 years I went from barely being able to draw at all to attending college for Graphic Design, and I learned more slowly than a lot of people. 6 years feels like a lifetime ago in my art career. I can't imagine remaining so static for 10 years.

Kinda odd that this tracer chose to trace Naoko Takeuchi, since she's the original creator/artist for Sailor Moon, and her art is very well known in the fandom(Which they're obviously part of). But hey, at least their legacy's coming to an end now.

They are able to if they only start tracing on their 9th year of DeviantArt.
Shes been tracing the entire time. And she hasn't been under the radar. She's pretty well known in the sailor moon fan art community and has been reported so many times. Artists Aware on Facebook has done so many call outs on her over the years. She was even making money on traced art through commissions.

They have good colouring skills and great designs, it is a shame that they choose to trace instead of create their own. I sent them a note on DA in hopes I can help them but never know.

It goes like this
1 - stealing
2 - tracing
3 - copying
It's basically 3 versions of the same crime
Not just this week, not 1 month, not 9 months, but 10 YEARS OF TRACING 45 ARTISTS ON DA. yeah, she was one of the firsts persons affected by the trace epidemic on DeviantArt.
Tip: If you see a tracer on DeviantArt who you know has a TH-cam channel, ask them to do a speedpaint.

That's just so disgusting to watch the whole thing, like how Nads6969 became THAT popular, though she didn't deserve it at all. When I first knew about her, I really thought, she was a talented artist, who did a lot of beautiful works and creative OCs, but now, I'm just overly shocked about what I found out! :O I mean, she traced from over 90 people!! :( And the worst thing is, that she's not even doing it well. It's clearly drawn with MS Paint and seriously, even I myself could do it like that!
Not sure if DC has done this before, but he should do a small series where he reviews dA artists with good pieces, like a spotlight thing

Every good artist traces too, people just like to turn a blind eye to it because they make it look great.
Then you get artists who trace and they either keep quiet about it or only copy small things from it so its not noticable lmo.
I think tracing as a beginner to practice or to have a grasp at what you are going to do is alright, but this is on a whole new level...
