  • I performed this piece with my local youth symphony two seasons prior, at which point I was still dealing with the consequences of a recent embouchure shift, and absolutely ate it at the concert. Now that I can actually play through some of my favorite excerpts I wanted to try it again with my buddy, also named Sam.

Check out @eyeliketrumpet on Instagram for lots of great practice videos and duets, and leave a like on this video for more rests and multiple tonguing, two things every orchestral trumpet player knows too well.

That is spectacular... I don't think I've ever heard that piece before. Wow. Awesome!!

Most people are familiar with Tchaik 5 and don't know 6 (I certainly didn't until I played it in orchestra) but 4-6 are all equally iconic in my opinion. It's said Tchaikovsky wrote three symphonies: 4, 5, and 6 :)

@@SamuelPlaysBrass It's also reported that he wrote 1, 2 and 3. I love them as much as the last. And get to know his Manfred symphony, if you don't already- great trumpet writing in that monster symphony too.

Sam x Sam. Twice as fun.
