this genuinely helped so much, i learned a little bit abt pentatonic scales before but this made it make a lot more sense in my head thank you. i tried playing the shapes again and it felt a lot more natural and easier.
That's right, the shape can be moved to any fret which lets you play in different scales - as long as you begin the shape on the 6th string (you couldn't start the shape on the 3rd string for example). But, it'll always be "box 3" of whichever scale. So, if you started box 3 on the 5th fret (A), it would be in the key of E.
