I don't get your loot complaint. The game can't read your mind so how is it supposed to know that you only want swords? Whats the alternative? Do you want to be able to type in "only swords please" and every dungeon and area without s sword in it gets deleted?
You can lvl your character to use any type of equipment so the game needs to accommodate that.

i felt like they all more or less hit sh** lmao and the one i had apparently did the job just fine. i rocked with the guts great sword, the lance, and shield. id like to experiment with some other playstyles now that I beat the main game

"I already have the equipment I want, I don't want anything else but also why isn't any of the equipment I find anything I want?" Doesn't make sense to me. Multiplayer criticism is valid though. Co-op mod is the most popular for a reason.

I just felt like i was capable of beating the challenges with what i already had. So if i play the game again, ill try using other stuff, but i guess more for fun and not because they're necessary. Thanks for the heads up about the mod! That would be a fun way to play the game for sure. Thanks for the watch

elden ring is awesome 10/10 game you are complaining too much Elden Ring’s story may not be traditional, but it’s intentionally designed to reward players who are curious and invested in unraveling its mysteries. It’s not about lack of story-it’s about a different way of telling it.

lmao im getting the impression that I should play it again and give it another chance. but i kinda stand by that it didnt do a great job of making me feel invested/curious my first time around. i didnt even realize half of what the NPCs were telling me were apparently quests

You know. This is the first negative takes of Elden Ring that sounded genuine and decently thought out. It's true to a lot of the things you mention. It seems like you really played the game and really tried. True: The items you find aren't always useful. The story is not front in center. There are a lot of things that I get put you off.
After playing souls games for a long time I realized that the magic a lot of times is the replay ability. With each playthrough you learn the world. You're skills push you further each time. You learn where items and things you need are for certain builds. On your 5th run you'll know exactly where that weapon you want is. You can wipe the early bosses earlier at a lower level. You will see an increase in your skill... and that is the payoff and magic to me.
The story I get. It's not for everyone. I for one love the obscure mysterious lore. Leaves some to the imagination and somehow makes things feel more epic. The magic of unknowing.
Great video though. I actually enjoyed your points and are genuine things that make it not for everyone. And that is okay.

i appreciate taking the time for the well thought out comment! you're the first person to give me credit for really trying lmao. I think i'm being convinced to replay it and be more curious about the story and try new playstyles even if i may have already found an efficient playstyle. stay tuned at some point for the re-review lmao

its actually sad that you say " not being rewarded for anything," I understand that this is an opinion but the reward is the curiosity and stepping outside of boundaries and seeing the masterpiece that is elden ring. the detail in this game is ridiculous
