I must remember not to nick your new cables.

Ha! Thanks. Actually tried them again on another gig, swapped back to the George Ls in the interval.....I prefer the George Ls, they're more middley and drive the amp a bit more. I had to turn up the amp with the new cables to compensate, which didn't quite achieve the same thing. I guess it's what you're used to.....I think they're as good, just different!!

@@iamtjwalker I've learned a lot here. My previous definition of a guitar cable was "a bit of wire - sometimes curly - with metal plugs at the end". In fact I learn that similar price (although expensive by my- now about to raise - standards) offerings sound very different.
So there's a lot of experimenting to do. Still, its way cheaper than experimenting with any other part of the component chain! And.... I've finally got fed up with my Quad Cortex so am selling it: that'll raise sufficient cash for a LOT of messing around with new cables etc!

@@digitalchris6681 I have to say I was a little sceptical about how much difference it makes once you get to a decent quality cable.....I can hear the difference, but once you're playing with a full band, how much is that difference going to be apparent. Well.....it was very noticeable in this case....it completely changed the way the guitar and amp reacted together.....I could compensate, and it didn't sound bad in any way.....but it really was very different! This is a rabbit hole that could end up being nearly as expensive as some other parts of the chain.....i'll probably try and stop here!!

@@iamtjwalker just realised: this is the proverbial can of worms. Since I've stopped using the Quad Cortex and replaced it with an amp head, cab and around a dozen pedals (the cables of which are obviously in the signal chain even when the pedal is bypassed), and reverb in the loop, that's a load (16. Whaaaat? SIXTEEN?) of cable upgrading to do.
Ps forgot my attenuator so it's EIGHTEEN .

@@digitalchris6681 That's a lot of cables.....I did introduce a couple of Mogami patch leads on to my board (previously all George Ls) and I didn't notice any difference there....but I guess that's a lot less cable than the 6m of main cable!
