Shorter form: cables have capacitance because, like a capacitor, there are two conductors separated by an insulator. With a long enough cable, there's enough capacitance to act as a low pass filter, cutting the highs. Same thing with a pedal board with a lot of pedals and patch cords. As Dylan said, that's why you might want to add a buffer somewhere. Hendrix's coiled cable contributed to his tone.
Worlds Best Cables on Amazon with their Mogami or Gotham GAC-1 Ultra Pro cables are amazing quality with similar specs at around half the price. I have had them for a few years and work exceptional.
Dylan, thanks for bringing up little talked about important cable info. "signal reflection occurs when a signal is transmitted along a transmission medium, such as a copper cable or an optical fiber. Some of the signal power may be reflected back to its origin rather than being carried all the way along the cable to the far end. This happens because imperfections in the cable cause impedance mismatches and non-linear changes in the cable characteristics. These abrupt changes in characteristics cause some of the transmitted signal to be reflected" There are a few pedals that allow you to adjust the input impedance the pickup sees. On single coils it can make a notable difference in tone.
Thank you for sharing these awesome cables! I might have to get one now. I'm not sure if I have the ear to hear the difference but I still like the idea of a well-made, durable cable. I do a lot of antics on stage and I need something that will stand up to that. Better tone is certainly a bonus.
German made Sommer Spirit XXL cables have some of, if not the best specs on the market - 15.8 pF per foot. 10 foot cables are just under $20 (seriously!) at a huge, widely known German music superstore. For specs and price, an absolute no-brainer. 😊
Wireless is fine. But now you are adding an Analogue to digital converter, compressing the audio (especially if Bluetooth) to send the signal, and then a DAC on the other side. Even a cheap cable is probably better than all those conversions.
I bought one of their cables a while ago, and I use it at home. I got a first time buyer discount, so, it was less than $65. When the 10ft cable arrived, I A/B'd it with an old cable, and the sound with the new cable was noticeably brighter. If you have enough of to much treble as it is, save your $…but the one I bought did make a difference.
I think most people won’t hear a difference. However they are worth it if the build quality is good with a lifetime guarantee and it’s made in USA from a small mom and pop business. And they are a little less expensive than Mogami anyway.
@@ramencurry6672 Agree most listeners won't notice a difference. But the player will. I also agree it's not necessary. One guitar, an amp, and maybe a plastic pedal or two are enough to rock. I'm just saying it's a decent cable and actually sounds slightly brighter. Not that everybody needs it.
As long as you don't use a cheap terrible cable, there is actually little difference. You're going to set your treble on the amp to what sounds best. Unless you're using a really long cable. My opinion, don't buy either super cheap or super expensive cables. Or, use a quality wireless.
$65 is reasonable for a cable with good build quality from a small made in USA mom and pop seller with a lifetime guarantee. Especially if the specs measure well……If you’re on a budget, Dimarzio cables are made in USA and they’re great too at a lower price They’re a bigger company and can keep the prices lower
where have you been? electric guitar fart-smelling has been around for a long, long time. not everyone wants to leave everything up to chance... good cables are... good!

They’re great cables. However the warranty is limited not lifetime. Still great cables though
@@ramencurry6672 Lifetime warrantees are over rated. Monster Cables' hassle free return policy is anything but.
Once I went wireless, I’ve never looked back……
id liketo hear a comparison between wired with pedals, wired without pedals, wireless with the same variables
Love your dog getting in the shot. Looks like a good boy!

you can put a buffer module in your guitar, before the jack
Gorgeous cable. I’m curious if the actual wire is manufactured by Belden or Canare, etc..

That guitar looks and sounds like a dream.
the doggo 😍
also explaining without using "capacitance, inductance and impedance" 👏
Can you explain the difference between the regular and silent plugs? And why is the silent only a 2-year warranty?
HAve you ever tried Evidence Audio cables? What do you think?
What would be your second choice that i can buy on amazon. I live in the UK
Where do you source the parts you use in your pickups??
Great cables! Definitely worth the money when you factor how long they will last compared to cables a third the price.
A good quality buffer properly placed.....should be a priority.
doesn't help anything before it
As i mentioned...properly placed. @@DylanTalksTone
You can put it before the cable?
With wireless....yes

Great video, thanks. For pinch harmonics what kinda pickups you recommend ? Thanks

Good lord, that's a beautiful guitar!

It’s his own cable - doesn’t actually talk about it until 12 minutes in
It’s not my cable. It’s a Runway Audio cable.
How do you feel about wireless systems? Minus the cons, strictly sound wise I mean.
Congrats on the cable release, will have to get a pair now.

Nice vid
I bought the same thing by Mogami well over three years ago
Nice cable tho
Sweet cables man.
Thanks for sharing. Will be ordering one tonight. Any chance of another limited run on straps with DTT
Waiting to see what it might be
it has the silent connector on it.

lol. Not southwest…. Although I am from the southwest, I don’t have much decor in that theme.

Okay.. I don't wear hats, but I need one of those Girl Dad hats!!!!! Loved the pen/pad segment - its your new whiteboard!!!
There is a lot of 20pf/feet cables ou there , nothing special
And who is supplying "Dylan" with cables ?? 🤔😉
It’s assembled by Runway Audio. But I was curious about which company makes the actual wire. My guess is probably Belden, etc….
Nope
sorry I fell asleep, listening to your life story ,get to the point
lol. You must be an EXTREMELY impatient person.
NO I’m just a grumpy old man 😁
Less is more listen to bb or Eric Albert ect
