  • Thank you for your support over the years! I have retired from teaching tarot, but want to leave these videos as a resource for anyone who would like to learn.
The cards used in all of my videos are from The Simple Tarot Deck Starter Kit, which is now permanently out of print.
The free PDF tarot cheat sheet mentioned in the videos can still be found at www.AngieGreenTarot.com. All course materials mentioned in the videos were exclusively for paid students and are no longer available.
The books are still available, through your favorite local bookstore or from the following links:
Simple Tarot Card Meanings (for all 78 cards): www.amazon.com/Simple-Tarot-C...
The Daily Tarot (365 days of tarot inspiration, with journaling prompts): www.amazon.com/Daily-Tarot-36...
Happy taroting, and I hope you have wonderful adventures as you learn and explore the cards!

I have used the Rider Waite Smith Deck for years, but just received a new one based on the Thoth Deck, so I am relearning the meanings of the cards. I have realized that I was growing dependent on the RWS symbols to reveal meaning. I am enjoying the new perspective.

As someone who started with RWS. I highly recommend Lenormand Deck. Lenormand is my fav for now.

I would like to add something : The RWS and the TDM came frome two different philosophies, the first one came frome the philosophy of the golden dawn and the second one came from the philosophy of Marsilio Ficino. So each one have his own system of reading / interpretation and so the meanings of the cards are totaly different.

It is interesting to know the coloration of the RWS and the Thoth were deliberate in accordance with certain correspondences within the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. These colors are used to better be able to access your subconscious. The Thoth deck also utilizes a particular type of geometry in its artwork as well.

I started with the Rider Waite Smith deck, quickly became obsessed & within a year I had over 60+ decks. A few months ago I started studying the THOTH, and I've never looked back. Its perfect, the minors feel corrected (especially the sevens) and its so fun learning the court cards for example the Princes and Princesses, most of which are like studying a whole new tarot card that has never been there before. Its so fun learning and getting to know them as personalities. I also love the Thoth basically solves the racial diversity problem - there are no black or white people because there are no people period! Only cosmic beings from another universe. I'm still in my obsessed stage as you can probably tell. Lol. Now I have over 50 RWS decks that I don't use :P

The Thoth is definitely a really interesting system to learn!

Thank you for your insight on the Thoth deck. I've been wanting a deck because of the cosmic energies. I'm anxious to get them now! Lol

I don't share your point of view. Marseille was my first deck and thanks to it I'm able to read any kind of deck easily nowadays, definitely my favourite one. Most of the symbolism in Waite's deck is irrelevant for reading, they were used for kaballistic reasons which don't resonate when reading the cards.

Awesome as always ☺️ My first deck was Cosmic Tarot - it chose me. I LOVE it. It is RWS based, but I do like using the RWS deck also. I'm still learning so I like to compare the two. Thanks again for the video. Love your channel ❤️

Hi Angie! Thanks so much for this information! I don't yet read tarot but one deck I find interesting is the Clow Reed deck from the CardCapture Sakura series. It's based on the RWS deck and although it was created for a series, the design is beautiful and I've seen people actually using it in readings.

Decks based on pop culture are a great way to look at the symbolism of the cards!

I use all the styles of tarot. And Lenormand. They are all good but the actual RWS seems to always come out on top.

Never been attracted to RWS. First deck was The Good Tarot. Don’t use it as much now as I’ve moved on but I love learning about different decks from others

@Team Simple Tarot My new favorite is The Starman tarot based off David Bowie. It reeks of bright bold colors in every aspect very inclusive and dramatic like I 😂 I also like the Star tarot 2 nd edition it’s dripping in native imagery as esoteric imagery
