Gasket sealant? You should only need a gasket no?

What torque value for the bolts of power steering pump plates? Thanks.

The engine type is not in the title!

I took my sump off today to replace the gasket and found a metal baffle inside with a gasket on both sides. I had to remove the oil pump to get it off so I checked the oil pump filter while it was off for piece of mind. Will I need 2 gaskets to put this back together?

There are 2 types of gasket one is the one I used
the other type is the one that u have
Wich is a baffle type gasket
U can use ever of the gasket
The only plus side of the baffle type gasket is to stop oil surging under corning 😊
So the baffle type gasket is the best to use but its harder to fit 😊

@@TheADHDmechanic Thanks for that. The gasket itself is in good condition and I'm thinking of just putting a light bead of gasket sealant around it rather than disturb it or replace it. I bought the gasket prior to taking the sump off and now I would need to get another one which means more cost and time.

@@frogmanbrabs I would say don't reuse the old gasket for they are prone to leaking as best just get a new one ore if u have already bought a gasket the same as the one I use just fit that for it will be OK if its OK a T4 for u won't be throwing it round corners to much 😊
I normally use the gasket I use for its easy to install
The o ly time I mite put a baffle plate gasket in is when I'm building an engine on a stand 😊

Hi Terry, thanks for the video! I have an oil leak on my 1.9td also. Will the gasket replacement be something that I need or could it be elsewhere?

Hello there are lots of places the 1.9 leak from
      Top places are
      sump.
Oil pressure switch above the oil filter.
Oil cooler to oil filter housing and rocker cover.
Best thing to do iw to get some brake cleaner and wash all the oil off take it for a quick drive and see where its coming from :)
