I just bought a Himalayan and it was in large part due to Noraly. Her adventures convinced me it would be a perfect bike for me in Alaska. I hope I get to see her here when she arrives in my neck of the woods next summer. And I'm enjoying seeing what your experiences are as well. Thank you.
I started watching Itchy because of your mention. She’s an incredible lady. But she is half our age. Not that I’m taking anything away from the lady as she is 110% hardcore 😀
What a great watch after a long and stressful day. I'm not really into bikes but I thoroughly enjoyed that. Beautiful countryside with a gentle thud from the engine in the background. Thanks for sharing it. 👍

Enjoy your travels and thank you for taking us along for the ride, and the historical stops... PS I miss the old local pubs along the way and sampling their ploughman's lunches and a pint of best. Nice video thank you. I was a keen motorcyclist but have not ridden one in 20 years . I'm in my 60's now and close to retirement and I have a hankering for a bike again . The Himalayan looks just the job !
Brilliant video from start to finish Sandy, those tight twisty lanes are so much more accessible by Bike, loved seeing Buscot had some great fishing there. There are a few Churches in our neck of the woods that Sir John Betjeman loved Sandy, we are blessed to live where we do, thanks for the upload Sandy, atb Terry.
I really enjoyed that. Delightful! I'm glad that I found your channel. Chug was the bait that lured me in but it's plain to see that variety is the spice of life hereabouts so I've just been enjoying some of your paramotor material too, to say nothing of your infectious love of the great outdoors. Many thanks! 👍
Hi Keith, I come from a long line of country folk and got a bit of the gypsy in me too:) I do love our native land. A major illness made me embrace life and not let fear get in the way of things I wanted to do and experience and set me on a path to conquer and overcome those fears too. The last one is hopping on that bike and going for very long journeys overseas where they ride on the wrong side of the road and speak in a foreign tongue!
@@WiltshireMan Your determination and go-for-it attitude come across strongly. Sometimes we just need a wake-up call, don't we! I certainly did. I hope that whatever was your trigger is now at least under control and preferably consigned to history. There's a lot of living to do! Enjoy! Keith 👍
Good to see you out on the road Sandy. Ive also started watching that magnificent Dutch girl! A few years back I did a ride to The Med in Spain with my two bros. I was on my 88 1340cc Hog and they were on a 1100cc Virago and 650cc Dragstar. I got the best mpg! About 50 mpg! You gotta love 2 wheels!
I know I'm a bit late to the party but I'm glad you like the Himalayan, a mate (who referred me to your channel) and I have the 2018 model, in sleet like yours. We live in the opposite side of the world here in Australia, and we've found the bike to be a really good tourer. I'm afraid I'll be watching your rides with a bit of envy as I'm laid up waiting for a hip replacement currently so you will have to do the riding for me. All the best and keep it shiny side up. That's a very nice bike Sandy. Royal Enfield makes some great bikes currently. On that bike you definitely need a jet helmet and a pair of goggles! ;-)

Its ideal for a bit of portable work Sandy. I never think of that area as the cotswolds ... but I guess its cos I’m used to the northern bit just south of stratford. Theres a hell of a lot of standing water at the minute isn’t there. Enjoy Chug and i’ll look forward to the next one
Congrats on the new motorcycle. I initially followed for your camping content, but now with your bike content, I'll be sticking around. Looks like you made the perfect choice in the Himalayan. I ride a heritage softail myself but would love an Enfield.
Its not a fast bike so don't expect to be tearing along the highway at 90, but if you relax into the ride its super stable and comfortable. and the 24.5bhp motor is very tractable and loves to plod. Seems happiest around 3 to 4000rpm and I reckon it will cruise nicely at 60ish mph maybe a tad more. But its a bike for travelling exploring and adventure
Hi Sandy it makes me and my husband laugh because we have been looking at royal Enfield bikes, because we have been watching itchy boots. And you think similar to us. You go the same places as us. As we live in the same town as yourself. We are retire now and have been inspired to walk .today we went on the ridge way the aldbourne Paddington circles 👍
Hi Teresa, If you get the Himalayan it will do everything apart from bomb along and superbike speeds. It's not a super bike but for riding the lanes, B roads and most A roads it's more than upto the job. Its a great little bike and very economical to purchase and run and also very easy to ride. OK on your Ridgeway circular walk. I know the route well.
Lovely little jaunt - thanks for taking us with you. Those roads didn't look too muddy - round here, in the next county over to the East of you, it's the mud slurry brought onto the roads by construction traffic that generally tells me it's time to not be out on the 'bike - but oh! that wet, compacted leaf litter on the corners! Thanks Steve. The Cotswolds is just on my doorstep, and other interesting places close by too and no doubt videos about them will follow but I'm hoping to get some long distance multi day rides in too
I´ll soon be 72 years old and physical problems have forced me to quit driving my bike. (sold) Instead I have a moped, Yamaha Why, which I drive all the year around. Here in Sweden the winters has been mild the last years which have made it possible! Thinking of getting me a Go Pro too, cause sometimes I do rides like You Wiltshire Man! Nice to follow You!
Thanks! I enjoyed your ride around the Cotswolds. I lived in that area for a few years (Abingdon), so it was nice to have a look around again. I hope to ride my bike around that area sometime next year, as I still have friends and family nearby. Just need the summer back, so I can ride down from Macclesfield :-). I agree with your comments about smaller bikes - I went the Honda CB500X route.
Thanks for that, Sandy - hugely enjoyable. You may be lacking something Noraly has (can't quite put my finger on it...), but that was much more my pace and a lot more accessible from where I live (near Bath). You've given us a couple of great ideas for one of our country drives/church crawls.
All these positive and uplifting 'Himalayan' videos, including yours, making me think to trade in my 2007 Guzzi Cali Touring......or just take it as a second bike...hmm. Thanks and cheers from the Netherlands and enjoy your bike!
I enjoyed every second of that Sandy, thankyou. So many places are flooded at the moment, and that is before we get into winter proper! Some really lovely little places you took us to in this one...cheers. Sweden will be incredible. I think you need to retire that cap ha ha...........Now get a hot soapy sponge on the bike...
LOL Yes the cap has seen better days Bry:) As for the amount of rainfall we have had I don't think the ground can handle any more. I did give the bike a quick wipe over and sprayed some parts with WD40 but as soon as they start spreading salt then I won't ride anymore.
Wiltshire man and his inexhaustible supply of gopros left on Cotswolds walls. :D Great video on what’s becoming a very popular bike. At 4K you cant go wrong on value especially as RE have seemed to have ironed out the original glitches. I think your channel continues to go from strength to strength and I look forward hopefully to another combined walk in 2020. Peace, my friend.
Thanks Bill. What most folk don't know is that I am infact a multi millionaire and this is how I can afford to leave the gopros behind. I put them into bluetooth mode so after the shot I ride back to within a few meters of the camera, my divice instantly downloads the clip the I bugger off. Recently got a fine for littering the countryside with Hero7 Blacks. Ofcourse I didn't mind in the least. It was only a grand:) LOL I wish. Loving the bike Bill. Are you going to get one?
Evening Sandy, hope you're all good? I've commented a few times now and I always love and appreciate the variety you bring to your channel! You've got a great outlook on life and a brill sense of humour 😁. Also funny you should mention Itchy, I actually started watching her recently. Finally congrats on 10 years of TH-cam!! I think you're bodmin moor wild camp wss like 10 years to the day 👍 Looking forward to the next vids! Take it easy, Tom.
Awesome ride out. Good to hear that the Himalayan is going well. We will be in the Avebury area 23-26th Dec. Understand it is over Christmas is you are to busy to meet up.
I can tell from the video you are enjoying the Himalayan and it is a brilliant bike. It does get better as you pile the miles on. Try the 98 octane mine seems to like it more than the 95. Safe riding
Stunning ride and great trip down memory lane. Fuel consumption is great, 12 pounds to fill up thats 18 bucks for 150+ miles. lol, thats awesome. Cross the continent for 150 quid lol. Amazing.
Good work 👍 If I had the funds I’d definitely purchase the Himalayan to use during the winter months to get out and about. My two bikes never come out during the winter and stay covered up in the garage meaning I miss out when the weather breaks as it did for you. With the Himi being lighter, rugged and less expensive to repair if an accident occurs I to would take the opportunity to potter around the lanes exploring without fear of damaging the bike. Keep up the good work 👏👏
Lovely video WM. I don’t think it’s that necessary to go abroad with all the beauty we have here in the U.K. There’s the rest of the Cotswolds such as the hotspots of Bourton on the Water, Chipping Campden, also Forest of Dean etc etc. I’m sure your viewers in other parts of the world would appreciate seeing our scenery. Hope you manage to get out on Chugg during nice winter days. All the best and stay safe. 73s. G1UOD
Another enjoyable outing on "Chug". A regular application of ACF50 will give him the protection he deserves for a long "rust=free" life. Best wishes Sandy.
@@WiltshireMan You're welcome. I don't have a compressor for the "paint spray" method, I only have aerosols so I spray some into a cloth and wipe (not on tyres or brakes!!!!) :-) I wouldn't put it on the satin finish on the Himalayan tank either.
I rode my KTM RC8 down through Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia using B roads wherever possible-even rode a few green lanes on it. Then took my Himalayan through Spain to France via the Pyrenees, back through them to Portugal, through Portugal and back to Spain. All on B roads and back lanes. Fantastic. Tagged onto a group of 6 french registered Ducatis on one 15 mile mountain pass, and was keeping with them until we started going up hill, which was when they slowly pulling away from me. Both trips made me aware of one thing though. Saw maybe 2 or 3 GS BMW's on the roads we rode on, but saw loads in the towns. Presume that they got there on the A roads and motorways. Love the Cotswolds, but at this time of year I much prefer riding here in Spain-sunshine and warmth.
Luvly video on a great motorcycle. Seems a very smooth ride and the suspension will probably bed in a bit with a few miles put on the machine. It's not necessary to do any off roading to prove anything just enjoy the road. That bike will do it no problem anyway. Safe motoring to you Sandy lol
I’ve just booked ferry tickets etc for my 2020 motorcycle trip from Denmark to Cotswold. I’ve used this video as a little appetiser. It looks great 👍 and I can’t wait.
Sandy mate, When I lived in Swindon I used to love taking a ride around the Cotswold's. Nothing like it here in Ohio, USA. I took a bike trip out to Utah a couple of years ago and that was great scenery too. 6500 miles round trip on my Suzuki DL650 Vstrom. Come over here and we can take a ride together. KEEP IT ON 2 WHEELS. Enjoy the ride.

It was only a grand:)
LOL I wish. Loving the bike Bill. Are you going to get one?
Beautiful scenery, my dad was born in Clifton and I’d love to get back there someday. Nice to watch now that we have snow and ice on the roads.
‘Chucking along’ seems great fun! Enjoy and keep safe! 👍👻
I think you're bodmin moor wild camp wss like 10 years to the day 👍
Looking forward to the next vids! Take it easy, Tom.
Thanks Tom, my TH-cam career is like my bike...Plodding:)
Wonderful blog about UK rural.
man it was cold outside today i forgot to layer up and really felt it..... I will be keeping a eye out for you im that way
Awesome ride out. Good to hear that the Himalayan is going well.
We will be in the Avebury area 23-26th Dec. Understand it is over Christmas is you are to busy to meet up.
Thanks for watching Dave. Will see you at Avebury
Love this channel, think I will have a crack at the bike test. 👍
I can tell from the video you are enjoying the Himalayan and it is a brilliant bike. It does get better as you pile the miles on. Try the 98 octane mine seems to like it more than the 95. Safe riding
The perfect bike for that sort of ride out.
I pick my Himalayan up this Saturday.... Love you video's 👍
Have fun on it Scotty. It's not a fast bike, but it's a great bike for travelling long distances. Very comfortable.
Lovely places! Thank you.
Stunning ride and great trip down memory lane. Fuel consumption is great, 12 pounds to fill up thats 18 bucks for 150+ miles. lol, thats awesome. Cross the continent for 150 quid lol. Amazing.
I done 180 miles on mine and thought I'd fill up.... £9.57 later it was full again 😂👍
Keep up the good work 👏👏
Hi Charles yes it's a good winter hack not too much power so you won't spin out the back wheel, and as you say it'll be cheap to fix too
Lovely video WM.

Super! Sandy Thanks for sharing atb.James
Nice to see you out on a bike Sandy , don't sell your Beemer you'll regret it . you can never have too many bikes .
Another enjoyable outing on "Chug". A regular application of ACF50 will give him the protection he deserves for a long "rust=free" life. Best wishes Sandy.
Thanks Adrian. I will be looking into that. He or it does deserve some protection
PS Just brought some. Watched a video about it too. Thanks for the heads up Adrian
Sunshine and warmth. I might just hope on the ferry for a winter ride in Spain
Really enjoyed the video, thanks,
I’ve just booked ferry tickets etc for my 2020 motorcycle trip from Denmark to Cotswold. I’ve used this video as a little appetiser. It looks great 👍 and I can’t wait.
When you get over here try and get in contact with me
Nice video, greetings from a himalyan rider from bavaria
Greetings in return. Safe riding
Anything you do sandy is worth watching as your a natural in everything you turn your hand to 🛵👍
LOL Thanks Martin. I wouldn't say I was a natural though, just enjoy what I do
enjoyed this never been to the Cotswolds but used to go to Fairford air show every year back in the 90s :)
I'd love to join you on a ride around Utah. Lets see how the next few months go:)
An enjoyable ride around Sandy, the bike is sounding sweet and at 80 mpg cheap to run, sorted mate.
Its seems nice and cheap to run Paul
Great review what make are the bags on the front luggage bars ?.
Shiny side up :) looked like a nice ride.
Looks like a great ride
