A GNU shares power in proportion to the votes. The president announced 32 cabinet posts and allocated 19 of these to the ANC. The DA got 6, the IFP got 2, and the smaller parties got 1 each. That is not proportional! The ANC got twice as many votes as the DA, but more than three times the cabinet ministers.
I wonder how much the DA knew before signing the letter of intent. I’m surprised they didn’t walk away.

They couldn't walk away bcos they wanted to keep so called doomsday coalition away from government.the desperation is going to turn this gov coalition ineffective within a year or so.

You are really an idiot judging from your statement. The ANC is the majority party, if the DA walked. The ANC would have still had enough to form 51% with the other parties. Also the DA is equally corrupt and power hungry, they were not going to walk away from their last opportunity to be in government.

It’s important to note that The ministry of Agriculture was separated from the ministry of Land Reform and Rural Development.
    Previously this was one portfolio.
The leader of the DA only heads up Agriculture (half the old portfolio)
The PAC is in charge of Land Reform and Rural Development.

This is what came of 2 weeks of intense negotiations between the ANC and the DA.
DA got 6 out of 32 cabinet ministers
and 6 out of 43 deputy ministers.
The ANC has the vast majority of positions and all the important ones as well.

I think they just rushed to fill in vacancies and didn't give enough attention to the development of our country. We expected better outcome from the coalition negotiations.

No, the ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Development was split into 2
      Agriculture is DA
Land Reform and Rural Development is PAC

You should question why some ministries are having two deputy minister and their role? That means more wasteful expenditure of taxpayers money

    • @shafiyaalgiquadra1105
      @shafiyaalgiquadra1105 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It is not wasteful when it goes into the pockets of politicians, it is wasteful when building infrastructure and helping the poor.

    • @bevturner2258

That’s easily explained. Where there was previously an ANC deputy, they didn’t lose their job. A minister from another party (like DA) was just added. So where before there was one ANC deputy minister, there are now 2, one from ANC and one from another party. Simple, no jobs lost and the taxpayers foot the bill.
There are 32 cabinet ministers and 43 deputy ministers. That means there are 11 unnecessary deputies we’re paying for. It’s shocking!
