If I have an HDMI device plugged in while on the android input it will constantly flicker back and forth. Is there a known fix for this?

Please help, My cleartouch has a red light of death. Normally we press button on side and the red light changes to another color and screen turns on. Now it stays red and the screen does not turn on. Any ideas?
