    For those having issues, try this:
    Connect HDMI cable from elmo to a tv. Select the correct hdmi source on tv. The camera should now be showing up on the tv. From here, you'll be able to get to the elmo menu. Click menu and settings will pop up. Find the USB setting and select Application - NOT mass storage. Disconnect Hdmi. Connect usb from elmo to computer. Should recongnize it right away. Hope u get it figured out!!

    • @deckprep

      Screen Castomatic is a separate software that allows you to make videos by capturing part or all of your screen. You can find it online though there are other programs too

    Does this work when you are also projecting simultaneously? I don't have the switch camera option either. I need to be able to project to my in person class while also getting it to my computer for my virtual students.

    • @deckprep
      @deckprep  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume there must be a way to do it but I don't know how. I wonder if you can input from the document camera to your laptop through the mini USB cable and then connect your laptop to the classroom projector as normal. Try seeing if you can access the document camera through the device manager in the settings of your laptop. Then maybe you will get the option to switch between cameras.

    What do I do if my change camera button only switches between front facing and rear facing cameras on my laptop? Is there a way to loop the elmo into that?

    • @deckprep
      @deckprep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Flanagan It means the camera app is not detecting the Elmo. There are a variety of reasons why that could be.

    • @jamesflanagan6984
      @jamesflanagan6984 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deckprep The computer was detecting it (showed up in settings/bluetooth and other devices). I just couldn't pull it up in Camera app or OBS. I've sent it into IT to see if they can sort it. In the meantime I'm holding up charts while kneeling in front of my webcam.

    • @stephentarrant1015

      I'm not sure what the issue is in your particular case but I suspect it is that you need to go into the menu on the Elmo and set it to send the signal to the correct port. There are some additional instructions and a link to a PDF of the manual in the comments. Good luck.

    Where do I plug in the USB chord on the Elmo ?

    • @deckprep
      @deckprep  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo need a cord with 3 different ends. The regular usb side plugs into your laptop or computer. The other side should be a mini usb and that plugs in to the back of the elmo.

  • @thomasfox9651

    When I connect my Elmo with the USB cable and open the camera app, there is no camera switching icon in the upper right. It will not allow me to switch to the Elmo camera.

    • @deckprep
      @deckprep  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. The problem could be that the Elmo is sending the video feed out the VGA or HDMI ports instead of the one leading to your laptop USB. If you have those other cords and a monitor connected to them you can try that. You want to get into the Elmo's menu and switch the feed to the USB but you need to connect to see it.
      The other possible problem is that your laptop is blocking the 2nd camera due to a privacy issue

  • @deanneburch7705
    @deanneburch7705 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi,
    I followed your directions. I do not to see the icon on my screen to switch to the document camera.

    • @deckprep
      @deckprep  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the document camera is sending the output to a different port. Try connecting it via VGA or HDMI to your laptop. If that works then use that xonnecrion. If your laptop does not have these connections try connecting the document camera to a TV or projector. If you get it to connect and can see it then press the menu button on the document camera and navigate the menu and select USB. If you search Elmo document camera manual PDF you can see the instructions to navigate the various menus. You have to get the document camera connected to something first though. Good luck. Please let me know if any of these suggestions resolve your issue.

    • @deckprep

      I think you would need to open the document camera on your screen, then open a meeting in Teams and the share your screen by clicking "share screen" in Zoom and choosing the document camera. I'm not aware of any other way (though there may be one)

      @@carollutz8253 For anyone not seeing the change camera option in the Windows camera app, note that this procedure doesn't work with the TT-12 - you need to be using a TT-12i or newer (i, iD, F, W). Using a TT-12 with Zoom/Meet requires a few extra hoops to jump through (either the Image Mate software + share screen, or an HDMI-USB capture card).

    • @deckprep
      @deckprep  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry. I don't know anything about MacBooks but I assume they are plug and play the same as PCs. The most common problem are having I think is that the document camera is sending the signal out to one of the other ports. It can send the signal to the mini usb-b, HDMI or VGA. You may need to connect to a monitor by one of those other connections and then switch to the one that works with your macbook
