wow! i’ve been fascinated by mendieta’s work recently, and i’m so pleased that it brought me to this video. i really like the way that you covered her life and work, and i loved hearing your detailed analysis of each piece, especially the ways in which her personal history influenced her art. i’m excited to watch more of these videos, but i do have one piece of criticism: i found it hard to engage when you looked over to the laptop in almost every clip. it made me feel like i was having a conversation with a friend who kept getting distracted and looking out the window. i think that if you prepared what you were going to say before each take, it would make for a more inviting and engaging video; i also feel that the editing could be more concise to keep the pace fast enough to hold the audience’s attention. i know this criticism is unprompted, so feel free to take it or leave it - otherwise, i really enjoyed the video, and i’m grateful to have happened upon it!
I'm so glad I found this video. Thank you for such an informative and sensitive introduction to Ana Mendieta's life. Also, the rain and music in the background is so relaxing! :)
I really enjoyed this video, and am currently crying. I am doing a research paper on her for my Art History class, and this was very helpful, thank you!
So sorry I completely forgot to add the link. Here you can see the photo of the artwork and read a bit about it as well: www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/mendieta-untitled-rape-scene-t13355
She did not fall. She was a victim of domestic abuse. I don’t understand your opinions in regards to what life is like for people of color. I hope you have expanded your knowledge since this was published. Honestly painfully ignorant sad to say since this video is bringing awareness of Mendieta’s work. Thanks for that Have a nice day
