You claim it's absurd that witches were accused of ridiculously grotesque things but you can easily find grimoires and spell books containing rituals that have exactly what they've been accused of, and more.

As a person she comes off very vile and she definitely was very dangerous however I do find her perspective interesting. She clearly was a very hurt and mentally ill person. I also find the murder attempt disgusting and inexcusable. I do think her work has a right to exist though. It should be noted Valarie Solanas wasn't a feminist either. She was known to denounce feminism. Also, her viewpoint disregards gay men and her views on transgenders are pretty fucked up too.

The book is surprisingly scientific in many of its approaches. People who didn't read the book may think it yells "women are witches, magic is true". But it's pretty logical in its argumentations. For example transformation into a beast isn't possible because just God can create and change matter. Two forms can't coexist in one place in space at the same time. Glamour or magic may just be caused by smoke of herbs or some mental diseases. It also elaborates a lot how healers are not using bad magic per se. The book basically describes how to separate real witchcraft from other more natural causes. How to use or abuse this information was of course up to the inquisitor.

sorry but 3:25 this is absurd. of course our sexuality has direct relation to our childhood. as pointed out by trans activists children already sex themselves as male or female in a meaningful sense by like 3-4 years old often.

0:11 except for overthrowing the govt, this passage has become eerily prophetic...none of the points she made have yet come to full fruition...but were very close...complete automation is rapidly being realized, and the cashless economy is well within current technology...males are becoming increasingly irrelevant in this economy & except for the few extreme outliers that can keep up, they will soon be slaved & starved to death...

This is hilarious, incel men are seen as misguided angry hate filled delusional people. Yet femcels are no different unhappy, unfulfilled and physically lacking. The fact women romanticise this woman is beyond pathetic, she was a very deeply schizophrenic. Men and women need to come together against the common enemy the elites. Misogyny and misandry are equal issues, she was bitter Warhol didnt give her the attention she so deeply craved as a lady and was too proud to admit it. Just like most incels get regected from girls and cant handle it and felt she had to ironically steep to the male trait of aggressivness which she clearly hated when she tried to kill andy. Intoxicated with the idea of power and contol and self narcissism over others, just like stereotypes the very thing she hates. Men. Oh the irnoy, prehaps she was one of the most masculine women there is.

Incredible artist and life story! The idea of being drugged by a "father's" orders and waking up in an institution shows what he was like, imo. Leonora wouldn't line up with what he wanted, so it was done. (I had a very close friend who was deaf and tried to escape an abusive husband in the late 1980's. He arranged to meet her in another state, where she had gone. But this was a trap, and she was also institutionalized by him and kept drugged until she agreed to go back to him with their baby. Years later, she finally got away as well.) Leonora Carrington also rose above her circumstances and created amazing artworks, which i will be exploring more. Thank you for sharing this video.

I went through the same Intermedia Studies program Ana Mendieta did, under its founder (and also her lover) Hans Breder at the University of Iowa, starting about 2 yrs. before her murder (yes, I’m calling it a murder) at the hands of her boorish husband, the late ‘artist’/‘sculpter’ Carl Andre. Carl Andre personified for me everything I detest about the art world, and his type of would-be highbrow, conceptual bullshitter is precisely what drove me from continuing to work in conceptual intermedia arts by 1986. For more good information on Ana Mendieta, check out the recent and quite excellent podcast, Death Of An Artist, Season 1). As good as the podcast generally is-and as fairly as it portrays Andre’s likely responsibility for Mendieta’s death-one thing that irks me is the podcast’s tendency to confer FAR too much importance on him and his work, with the absurd repeated claim that he “solved the problem of sculpture and horizontal space“ simply by placing his wholly unremarkable, unimaginative works directly onto gallery and museum floors or outdoor grounds… as if, say, the Pyramids of Giza or Stonehenge hadn’t already solved this “problem” far more effectively centuries earlier. Obviously, thousands of other equally-valid comparisons/contrasts can be drawn to further demonstrate the utter bankruptcy of such a claim, but I can’t be bothered to go on any further regarding just how vacant and vapid his ‘work’ and the entire misogynistic, male dominated art world that supported it was and sadly still is. Just pitiful, really. Ana Mendieta was far more valuable and I believe her work will prove to be far more durable. 🙏🏼
