Thank you for sharing on the repots of those 7 orchids. They all do look better now that they are in bigger pots. Fingers cross for the last orchid that you showed hopefully she will turn around now that the mushy bulb is removed. Looking forward to the updates on how they are doing in the future. Have an awesome day and enjoy your time back at work.
It’s nice to watch some reports I must admit then we understand what people are using and what they’re doing and what they’re like especially the roots
Maybe next time :). . I have lots of older repotting videos on my channel. On this day however, if I filmed the repots I probably wouldn't have gotten them done in time to pick my daughter up from day care. It takes a bit of time setting up, filming and editing the repotting videos. But I'll definitely do some later in the year once I've got my groove back. Pick my battles these days!!
hahaha.. 2 months on and I still haven't gotten around to repotting any more. Sharry baby will definitely be next. Just uppotting... might make it a video!
Bunnings!! Can get them from specialty stores. I used to use Orchid Den heaps - it's based down in Burleigh. Different owners now and prices a little bit higher since covid. Just check even online at bunnings and you might be surprised what they stock!
Oh gosh, don’t feel guilty!! Lol.. orchids tend to be tough things and less is usually more! I decided a whole ago that this is a hobby, and it’s meant to provide joy - not stress or guilt!
Hmm.. I will be repotting my orchids in the coming weeks. I recently potted about 12 tiny seedlings into tiny little sauce pots that are adapted to their tiny roots.. And they already need to go into slightly bigger pots. Also need to repot bigger orchids, but shortage of sphagnum moss is making it tricky. I love watching your videos as you provide a lot of information and detail about your orchid care and being from SE QLD as well, our climate is quite similar, so it's terrific to see things from a local standpoint. I am curious however, which fertiliser are you using on your orchids?
Just slow release at the moment. I used to use strike back for orchids (from bunnings) - it's really really effective. Contains some seaweed too and the orchids thrived with it. No time for fertilizing now though! So slow release it is!
Thats 7 less to repot plus the ones you did last week, so the list of 'to dos' is and less than it was. I've managed to get a Rhy. coelestis 'Blue' after seeing your plant. Should arrive before the weekend with a couple of others I had to get, only to justify the postage of course!
"these are the most trying months" Vandas be like "what are you talking about? This is fantastic. Hot, wet, humid, keep it coming." 🤣 I'm wondering if, now that you have the shade house, you might not be better off mounting a number of plants. The Shom lyonsi, for example, could just be yanked from the pot and tied to a mount. Don't even bother cleaning away the old media (I would squish it a bit and see if any media falls out, but other than than, just wrap around it)
The sprinklers were meant to be going 3 x / week but they’re actually going for like 10min daily since I set up the irrigation a few weeks ago - oops! No wonder it’s a little damp in there 😂. But you’re right, I might try mounting a couple of the dendrobium first like the bohemian rhapsody
I love this topic so much. Orchids are telling us what they need. Don’t get overwhelmed by your todo list. You are doing great!!! 🎉
Happy birthday Maisie! 🎉🎂🍼🐶🦓🐏
Love watching repot videos🤗 I like your profile logo 😀
We look forward to more videos.🥳
Love your collection.
I really like how you repot and it looks very good and natural

About 200… so that means about 300? Beautiful blooms nonetheless. Thank you for sharing! I need to do a lot of repotting too… 😵💫

Really enjoy your videos. I'm from the Gold Coast and would like to know where you get your clear plastic pots from. Thank you.😀
