Love all the members of you family. God bless you and enjoy every moment in India. You are in India and your mannerism is just like Indians. All of you speak with each other in a very natural way, as Indians converse at home. Pronounciation of Indian ingredient is purely Indian.

Try Khekda bhaji ( not Bhaaji) using onions & chana powder , as it is best during rainy season....Do add pinch of asafoetida powder to avoid stomach issue...Very easy, simple & fast to prepare

It is simply called Dal Vada.
A very tasty dish. In fact during Gauri Pooja (which happens during Ganesh Festival period), Dal Vada are offered as Prasad to Gauri (Gauri is Lord Ganesha's mother).
    We, maharashtrian love Dal Vada.
Very nice to see you are trying Dal Vada. ❤

Dal Vadas actually lasts for a week to 10 days. So, you can make it once and then keep it in airtight container and enjoy it for days.
Definitely a dish which can be taken for a long trip.
When I used to travel abroad for a week or so, my wife used to pack a good amount of vadas for me for the trip and it used to help me enjoy homely snacks during afternoon or evening time or even during dinner sometimes.

Fennel seeds and carom seeds. Fennel fibres for digestion, carom removes gas from gas producing food like chana dal.

Just stumbled upon this video looking for more chana daal recipes. Yours looks like a chana tikki recipe I make - very similar anyway, except I use a chaat masala seasoning. I put some besan in the mix to help to keep it together when frying. I eat mine with a green chutney a tamarind chutney and a yoghurt and mint sauce. Keep up the good work. You can't have too many cooking, travel or India videos in my opinion.

You can try it with either Coriander chutney or one of the nice way to have it is with Dahi Mirchi (Curd tempered with finely chopped green chilly).
Dipping it in curd (dahi mirchi) will help absorb some oil from Vada.

Have it with sambhar like idli, dosa. Its dryness is killed and gives very good contrast with liquidy sambhar. Also its more filling.

Its daal vada. We usually roast cumin seeds, carrom seeds, fennel seeds green chilly, garlic, and turmeric powder add that to chana/moong/masoor/udid daal soaked mix along with salt.... Try it next time, make sure you dry roast them lightly ti you smell them but dont burn them...
Let me know if it enhanced its taste, flavour and texture too...

NO NEED TO GRIND THE DAAL... USE BESAN FLOUR, MAKE BATTER AND AS YOU DID ALL SAME JUST MIX THEM IN BATTER . BATTER SHOULD NOT BE SO LOOS OR SO THIK BATTER WILL HOLD ALL TOGATHER , THEN IT WOULDNT FALL APART.
