Did anyone notice Abir's Palestine clock?? I love her and I love her videos, her conviction, and just her genuine character! She's a treasure for the Lebanese people but she's also a treasure to food lovers and humans everywhere!
Especially considering that she taught herself! I can understand that as back in my day the kitchen wasn’t a place where a child should be and “children should be seen and not heard” was something that was said quite a lot in my family. So I got a job in a cafeteria at 13, then in a small, family restaurant at 15 and continued to learn and move from prep and line work to head cook through my late 20’s. Finally, at 29 I was able to go to culinary school. It was kinda difficult for me to learn in my early years without someone teaching me and no internet available, so I can imagine how much Abir had to learn on her own. Making and remaking certain things until she was happy with the results. I admire that about her as well.
