I know he went to serve in as Choir Director at a church in Fitzgerald, GA called Arbor Baptist for a few years. I would come home from college on weekends and would go here because it was where mom went. I looked up that he is now in a group called Vocal Event. Great man of God and AMAZING high tenor!!!
Matthew 16:18-19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Gods building a church. Its going to be santified, glorified, filled with the holy ghost power and might. Purified with fire devine. Gods building a church. Hope you are in it. Jesus is coming soon.
He went on to be the choir director for Arbor Baptist in Fitzgerald, GA for a few years. I believe he is in another southern gospel group named Mercy's Mark. I could be wrong on that but my mother would know more about it. She goes to Arbor and keeps up with him. Great man of God and AMAZING tenor!
Love this song...it's got great and true lyrics, it's got a catchy beat, and it features one of the best tenors of all time AND one of the best basses of all time. I do wish the people would start clapping on the upbeat instead of the downbeat (I'm a drummer and so this probably annoys me more than the average person, lol), but that's not the song's fault. Great song!
I'm here cracking up at all the comments. I was saying to myself " why are these people clapping on the wrong beat?" Then I read the comments. Shame on them. Lololol.
Deus Abençoe a vida desses caras.
He's just getting into it. Us drummers have a tendency to sometimes look ticked off or constipated. LOL! You should see some of the faces I make. I could turn Medusa to stone. LOL!
He actually did "technically" join Mercy's Mark. It was when they were ding only a few dates a year. And now he has his own group, "Vocal Event". So, he's actually been with 2 groups since Gold City.
@Nolezfan21 Haha! And trust me, we're not the only two on here who feel this way...and just imagine the way Doug Riley felt playing those drums with that whole choir clapping on 1 and 3! XD
Utterly hilarious to see dozens (hundreds?) of funky white people clapping on 1 and 3. (They get it right over on the Gaither version -- same Gold City, same tune -- and clap on 2 and 4.)
Actually......Jay never sang tenor with Mercy's Mark. He hasn't been with another group since he left Gold City. I know that he has done some stuff with Mark Trammell, but never as an official member of his group (Mark Trammell Quartet). As far as I know, he is still in music ministry.
Yeah, this song requires clapping on the other beat. It's hard to think that way when you've done it the other way so long. On the same note, you can't just take any song and clap on the 2nd and 4th and be honest to the song.
i disagree with brian free being the best but my all time fav is ivan parker anyways & nobody will ever b able to touch ivans voice. sorry musicforHisglory11 i really hate to say anything against anybodys opinion but i had to put up my thoughts
silly... I love Gold City...but I can't understand why people always have to divert strait to the government, when speaking of God... What about -your- actions?? do you ever have time to worry about THEM?? and your message makes no sense, the song is about the Men who sing it.. your comment is the same as saying that God almighty wishes for certain football teams to win a game, and not others....
TIM RILEY CAUSING EARTHQUAKES WITH THAT BASS!!!
The clapping on 1 and 3 is killin me....
You’d think the choir would know better!
Ouch! I know.
Seen one guy on the platform clapping 2 and 4 to the right of the drums.
OK, I've officially changed my opinion. In the last few days, Jay Parrack has become my favorite tenor ever. Dude could sing!
Kevin Higginbotham have you heard his dad?
1. love the tenor!
2. love the bass!
3. love the song!
4. amazing live performance!
5. god bless you guys!
❤😂😅
Tim Riley is one of the best Bass singers out there. He hits those low bass notes better than any I have heard today in ANY genre of music.

Yes He is!! Time has come children of God, Rise up !!!
one of the best tenors [i like jimmy fortune]...just heard this group about 1 month ago...love it...awesome
The group is a blessing. They sing inspired. The tenor is amazing and the bass is like a thunder.

Tim Riley is the best. Also love that bass player he is awesome.
The bass player always look so into the music- giggle he is almost dancing with his guitar!

Praise God. Wonderful song.

THIS SONG IS LOVELY

sounds good.... this a super group
God Rest Him, as BnCSGMusic said, most drummers are always anticipating the next beat, he seemed to be counting into it.
LOL nice very very gold all GG
sorry musicforHisglory i didnt see what u said about jay & now that i have heard hay sing i completely 100% agree with u
I'm with the drummer....white people killin me clapping on 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4...LOL
I found myself searching for anyone clapping on time 😂😢
Awesome tenor

amen god is building a church

@GamingDrummer89 I think he's just getting really into it. i do the same thing, as do a lot of drummers when they're playing.
Can't hear Tim enough.
When did Jay retired? I like when these Gold City sang "Not Giving Up".
He actually did "technically" join Mercy's Mark. It was when they were ding only a few dates a year. And now he has his own group, "Vocal Event". So, he's actually been with 2 groups since Gold City.

What ever happened to the high tenor singer of this group. He is great !
Utterly hilarious to see dozens (hundreds?) of funky white people clapping on 1 and 3. (They get it right over on the Gaither version -- same Gold City, same tune -- and clap on 2 and 4.)
@BnCSGMusic Haha, either that or he was getting sick of all the clapping on the downbeat going on during that song! :D
It's definitely a matter of opinion, but there's no way in my eyes (and ears) that Brian Free was a better tenor than Jay Parrack.
Gary Masengale Jays the man

awesome
yes
Who is the bass player he is pretty awesome? Very nice looking Kubicki bass.
can we all agree that Tim Riley kicks ass? :P. these guys sounded amazing together!
I agree that Tim is great, but he doesn't kick butt. I don't see any reason to say that.
honestly tim riley is a powerful bass, he's why these guys are so iconic. don't get me wrong, they all sound great together
Dalton Watson tim is the most powerful bass singer (Southern gospel) alive today.
pepper freak You got that right.
Dalton Watson That about kicking ass was really stepping over the line.
I HATE when people clap on the wrong beat lol..
Anybody know what's up with Doug Riley (drummer) at 2:32? He looks kinda ticked off.
Lol I made that joke too.
1:40 i pooped myself
but you know he's right(Nolezfan)

So off time clapping
i disagree with brian free being the best but my all time fav is ivan parker anyways & nobody will ever b able to touch ivans voice. sorry musicforHisglory11 i really hate to say anything against anybodys opinion but i had to put up my thoughts
Great tenor voice, but Brian Free was the best they ever had.

Not a very nice comment considering the video shown is Christian in nature....
