- A new Parramatta Eels head coach for the NRL team has been appointed. Jason Ryles the current Melbourne Storm assistant coach has signed a 4 year deal beginning in 2025 through to the end of the 2028 season.
Hear my take on this appointment a very crucial one in the Eels history after the sacking mid season of Brad Arthur who was at the club for 11 seasons.

It is not who I would have appointed but I will get behind him. Hopefully he can prove some of the doubters wrong.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory who would you have appointed? But yes we need to get behind Jason and support him and hopefully results will come.
@@theparracavepodcast I think it were after the 2021 finals series loss to Penrith or maybe earlier (I forget), but I said that Brad Arthur had done a good job but he just couldn't get us to that next level. At the time I suggested Shane Flanagan should be approached as he wasn't with anyone at that time, a lot of people were against it saying "We don't want a druggie coaching us" and all this stuff. Well look now, Flanagan has got a St. George team who have a far worse roster than ours playing better.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory agree I rate Shane Flanagan as a coach. There were more people involved at the time at the Sharks but your right what a job he has done this year with the Dragons.
I feel like brian smith would have been a huge step backwards and ended up like the latest tim sheens debacle
