I personally love this truck over any other. People complain about the tech not being as fresh as that of an f150 or a Silverado but a lot of it isn't actually necessary, it just makes everything more expensive and complicated. Same with the Fuel Economy.. No it's not in the 20's but in my opinion, a few miles difference is not that big of a deal. I praise Toyota for their focus on the parts that really matter: the time they put into improving their powertrains, rather than releasing a new one every 2 or 3 years. People buy this truck because they are so dependable and simple, without trying to fit in with the rest of the class.
I'm living in the past! Only bells and whistles I like is power windows Air conditioning and a decent sound system. The rest can be tossed out the window! Bring back the basics of pickup trucks. I will be looking at one of these in the future, generous motors can't touch these!
It’s handsome, reliable, fast and doesn’t have too many electronics to break down and cost a fortune to fix. Love it! Just like a reliable workhorse should be. Plus that V8 sound cannot be replicated on any V6 engine.
One thing I've learnt about Toyota while working on them is that while they are slow in implementing technologies into their vehicles they make sure its done right.
You have one of those best objective and balanced reviews on TH-cam. Yet keeping calm and not loud and shouting at the viewers like some do. Great video. Great job well done !!!!
I bought the 2014 Crew Max TRD 4WD and the 5.7. It has been a great vehicle. I added the color coordinated Gem Top bed cover, an after market 14 inch woofer/900 watt amp. add on speaker, running boards and the factory dual exhaust system. Gas mileage has averaged 14 in town and a consistent 19.5 at 75 on the freeway. Absolutely no problems at all since new. Thanks for a great review.
I️ like the fact that everything is considered “old and out dated” means less to break and in my opinion more reliable. And it’s the only fully constructed and assembled full size truck in America. I’d buy one with a quickness.
My theory on the fuel economy...you can buy a Ford GM or Dodge and save a ton of money on gas BUT pay thru the nose for repairs and frustration with the dealer you bot your truck at OR u can buy a Toyota and pay more in gas and SAVE a ton in cash on repairs...I know this from personal experience!!!
I have a 2003 Tundra SR5 with the 4.7L V8 that we bought new. 175,000 miles, very few problems, all minor and inexpensive. I want to drive it till it really dies and then get a new tundra, but that may not happen for another 200,000, so that could be good or bad dependent on how you look at it
I have a 2005 Sequoia Limited 4WD, The first car I bought brand new, from all road trips from Houston to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Ontario, Mexico City, my hometown of Huetamo, Michoacán in Southern Mexico 😂 Drove through flood waters during Hurricane Harvey and the rough land in Mexico without hesitation At 350,000, My leather is chewed up and dry, my paint is fucked, my 4WD system is messed up cause I neglected it, ABS & Traction Lights are on, and that’s about it , original engine and transmission, the rear air suspension and compressor still work, every time I turn the key I have no doubt that it’s gonna turn on Im thinking about “downsizing” to the Tundra, or maybe risking it all and going for a Land Cruiser, but for now I’m still happy with my Sequoia 😂
Im glad toyota isnt going with all the new BS like bush button start and other things such as an lcd instrument cluster! People who buy this truck will be happy they did. All the extra electrical crap is just more things that will fail in the future. Keep it simple and traditional! I dont own a tundra but if i were to purchase a new truck, the tundra would be #1 on my list.
I have a 2012 and I love it 137,000 miles on it and never had any issues what so ever! I only bought GM trucks before but they didn't have the quality of Toyota
I love my 2017 Tundra. Has everything i wanted and none of the nanny crap that we've all been without for years and did just fine without.Cell phones are the reason for all the nannies we have today. No one drives they play with their phone instead.
I bought new and drove a 2008 Tundra SR5 for over 9 years. No issues. Wanted a bit more of the creature comforts And economy so I traded it for 2018 Highlander Limited. Fine SUV no complaints, but it wasn’t a Tundra, so after 4 monthsI bought the 1794 as shown in this video but with the sidestep pipes. It rides much better then the 2008 and the interior is great. The F150 shifty motioned here has the aluminum body and most dealership’s don’t have qualified body shop folks to fix it. Tundra baby, Tundra. All in all a nice honest review.
Honestly even though I come from a Ford family, these days if I NEEDED a truck I would buy this before anything else in it's class. Simply for it's reliability and build quality and relative simplicity that none of it's American rivals can match. And also, this is MUCH MUCH MUCH less expensive than an equivalent F-150 which is ludicrously expensive for a Ford. And also I don't want a POS Chevy or Dodge.
I own two Tundras, a 2007 superchargered 5.7 SC that does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and a 2016 XSP-X DC and everything you griped about were legitimate complaints. In addition, everything you complimented on were spot on. As usual, another excellent review, but seeing all of that condensation come out of the tailpipe as you revved it cold made me cringe.
Jackem High must have missed that, I've seen multiple reviews of several vehicles not just trucks reviews, where the reviewer not so much complains really.. but is noting and kinda "scolding" that the car having a key still is "outdated" or something to that effect.
NoName With the push button you don't have to pull the key out of your pocket (or purse) or take it off your belt hook. I leave my key fob on a caribiner clip hooked to my pants every time I go out and I sometimes don't even think about it until I return home and take it off.
I bought a new '18 SR5 4x4 three months ago, after driving Toyota trucks on and off road for 25 years. "Strange decision" by Toyota? I getting tired of hearing reviews that slam what I consider to be the best value on the market, by a mile. Words like "old", "tired", "outdated", blah, blah, blah. This truck has been refined and is still the best at what counts-performance, durability, resale. Search "million mile Tundra". "PITA to get in the truck"? I'm 5'8" and have a 2.5" coilover lift up front, and I don't have any problem getting in the truck. If you focus on minor crap like push button ignition and screen size, then go pay thousands more for an inferior machine that you'll lose far more cash on when you sell. Would I prefer keyless entry/start? Sure, but that's not really that important to me. Toyota trucks have never let me down through decades of abuse and back country adventures, and I've always gotten great money when I sell them after 11-12 years of ownership. That strong resale with the V8 symphony and torque more than makes up for the gas mileage. I highly recommend the TRD exhaust...makes me smile every time I hear it. Why does Ford sell more trucks? Financing anyone with a pulse doesn't hurt.
I just bought 2018 5.7L 4x4 SR5 off road package. I love every minutes of it even though it eats lots of gas. But what do you expect for V8. Reliability is the big factor for me.
Tundra is the iPhone of trucks...basic as hell but reliable and works. And like the iPhone, years overdue for a redesign. 4:30 rear end will guarantee you will never pass a gas station.
This is the reason I bought the Tundra with the 4.6 and 3.91 gears. I can mash it and not worry about losing the rear end. It gets 22 mpg at 75 mph. There is no sense in getting the 5.7 since there is always a slow poke in front of me.
Finally a truck that sticks to the basics and doesnt reinvent the wheel. Easy to use interior options, no ridiculous digital bells and whistles through the nose that will all fail and cost a fortune to rix. Rock solid v8, reliable 6 speed transmission not like these 10 speed ridiculous models. Tough to beat this for the top 3. I rank this as the top dog. Love the simplicity of the interior and no push button junk. Good gear selector and key option. I love that toyota puts there attention and focus where it matters. Way too many people need too many creature comforts, remember its still a pickup truck for work! 10/10 great job.
I own Lexus RX460H since 2012, bought brand new. For 6 years, I have no problems as far as mechanical relating stuffs besides regular maintenance. I changed new set of tires and new battery only. I just bought 2018 4x4 5.7L SR5. Toyota give me the peace of mind. I know this truck will last for long time and keep me away from repair shops.
I have friends with Fords, that had them all their lives and won't consider anything else, and continue to support the service department. I've has my Tundra for years, pulling 10,000 Lb boats, and it has only been to the dealer for regular service.
I did calculation, when I bought my 16 Silverado, I paid $2995 for extended warranty. Gets 20-21mpg hwy. I since then traded it in, I am now in a Tundra getting 17-18mpg hwy. But I didn't pay $2995 for an extended warranty. With the difference in gas consumption I calculated that I can drive till 150k or more before I pay $3000 in gas price. Lol only fools think they are getting a better deal buying a Ford/Chevy cause they can get 20-21 mpg hwy.
Jason Namson Exactly. And the bigger engine in Toyota will take more abuse than the smaller ones in big 3. That is exactly why Toyota uses them in their trucks whereas not in their sedans.
This + procomp long travel kit + magnuson supercharger + magnaflow exhaust = practical family MAN'S vehicle BTW: Tundra did have a driver's side grab handle - Toyota REMOVED it to save them 2 pennies and piss off customers
one of the most reliable cars in the world and probably last the longest. it's the most driven cars here in Africa and the middle east. especially the Land Cruiser.
I just put a hold on this exact truck. Thanks so much for the review. And if I can flash ahead to 2021. I bought the Ford F150 xtl eco-boost about this time of this review. Today, it has 50k miles and I've just had drive train repairs. It was in the shop two weeks at different times. The f150 engine is garbage. My nephew bought the 2018 f150 and he also is having tons of engine issues from water pump on ... you name it. We're both unloading the f150. Do your homework before you buy a Ford.
Den V. compared to its competitors its cheaper then the rest of them a fully loaded f-150 can cost you nearly 80 grand for a 1500 meanwhile a fully loaded tundra is less then 60
Here’s an interesting feature of the Tundra that not many people know: although it may not have push button start, it does have a feature that you don’t have to turn and hold the key to start the engine. You can just click it into the start position and let go of it right away.
Every time my ecoboost needs to go back to service I check these put across the street. Love the new interior. My lease is almost up and I might convert to Toyota.
Hey friends, I'm pretty much 99 percent wanting to get a tundra in the future. Every time I see one, it's calling my name lol. The one thing that concerns me and I've seen no one comment on is the safety ratings. The Tundra 2016-2019 has the lowest safety ratings. Any comments on that? Interestingly I'm wanting to get the 2015. Will post on other videos, wanting to a quick response
The reason they haven't changed much is because it works. If reviewers keep complaining about how outdated it is, Toyota might change it and ruin it. I say leave it alone. Leave all the complicated fuel saving systems and safety nannies to the other trucks.
chad Spidle my biggest complaint is the shit infotainment. There’s already a touch screen, might as well make it good. I shouldn’t have to look at the aftermarket if I’m buying a new truck
Dont worry about what other companies are doing, report the facts on the vehicle your reviewing. People will decide which they prefer. Facts are what’s important not opinions.
I love how he keeps referring to “Old/Outdated” but ask those Ram/Silverado/F-150 owners have they even smelled 150K worry/trouble free like the Yota? You can have all the luxury you want, but hard to enjoy when it’s constantly in the shop for weeks on end.
Hate it when ppl say toyota needs to put more tech in the tundra. Toyota makes Lexus one of the worlds most luxurious car company out there. If toyota choose to they would easily put “more” tech in the tundra.
guys anybody who is review on trucks it don’t matter what kind is it , you shouldn’t spect fuel economy their are trucks not hybrids if you guys want some economy , go get a small car with good fuel economy ,, remember their are trucks they are thirsty for gas ...i am tired of hearing people talking about the fuel economy of trucks ,
Although most people want a full update, I see no need. Maybe an addition of the new infotainment and smart entry but other than that it is perfectly fine. I am either going to buy this or the Silverado LTZ when the time comes, and currently, it would probably be a Tundra. And thats coming from a Chevy guy.
Nice review. I️ have a 2014 with 80k miles in and the only issue has been the connectivity with the IPhone. The radio would restart periodically. A recent software update took care of that issue.
I have a 2018 Tundra and I love it. The “push button start” that so many people bitch about not having in the tundra never works right in my experience with many different brands. The exterior is awesome with great fit and finish. Ride is nice and firm. One thing I know for sure is that my truck will stay out of the shop for 10 years at least! This review is annoying as shit though!
Great review... I just bought a 2019 1794, exactly like your model you have.. the only complaint I have is mpg...at 75 mph the engine is at 2000 rpm... it needs a couple more gears in the transmission. I think just that alone would improve mpg greatly. Other than that, it’s really a nice, comfortable, practical truck.... love it!
The 6 speed is more reliable and durable then the fancy high geared transmissions. I'll take a few less mpg for reliability. They did it right, also don't forget gas prices are a scam and the government is responsible for having it dictated too these ridiculous numbers! If they were regulated better you wouldn't care about the loss in MPG
Big update? Even the top premium 1794 edition don't come with remote start, and requires use of key to lock tailgate. No Android Auto,no rear axle.locker. Price still same or more than competition.
Toyota went down to Texas, lookin’ for a truck to steal! LOL. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! The Tundra is a fantastic consumer grade pickup truck. The F150 is maybe safer on foot entrapment front / side collisions. But, it sacrifices comfort to achieve it. If you want good fuel economy, then buy an aerodynamic hybrid sedan. If you want to tow / haul stuff, then get a pickup truck.
Yes you will probably will spend a couple dollars more on gas with the Tundra in comparation with the F-150 BUT when the F-150 will start to age and breakdown ............................................................ You will regret not have buy the TUNDRA !
We have a 2012 Rock Warrior and my wife hit a deer with it. While it was in the shop they gave us a 2018 Silverado to drive. The driving dynamics of the Chevy were terrible! I was so glad to get our Tundra back.
The Tundra's styling apex was definitely the 2007 version. The current one just doesn't have that same impact as the scowling look of that 2007 (especially the top end models). Still a good looking truck though (and the interior is light years ahead of the 2007).
Trucks are designed to deliver high torque lower in the range, for towing and hauling, therefore it’s not necessary to redline them at every opportunity.
Just came across your channel - you have a talent that's for sure... - I would entertain the idea of buying a Toyota... if they ever released a diesel one ton..
This review represents what's wrong with trucks today. They are soft version of what trucks once were. I love my 2013 5.7 but honestly my old 1996 ram 1500 is my go-to truck. The toyota is just too big heavy and lacking ground clearance to get around the jobsite
Reliability on/off road and re-sale.... no other truck manufacturer can come even close to Toyota. I've owned a Denali, Dodge and Silverado and never looked back after buying my 2nd Tundra.
No push button start, no stupid auto start stop, a v8 and the rock solid reliability of a Toyota? Im sold.
Horrible fuel economy....
Tom Liu one of a few vehicles that can make it to a million miles though!
06 bmw e60 I know mate but.... That MPG....
Tin boxes on wheels
What cheap ass looking dash
I personally love this truck over any other. People complain about the tech not being as fresh as that of an f150 or a Silverado but a lot of it isn't actually necessary, it just makes everything more expensive and complicated. Isnt that the truth eh!!
To be honest man
Hi
Some of d latest bells n whistles are rily just gimmicks
I'm living in the past! Only bells and whistles I like is power windows Air conditioning and a decent sound system. The rest can be tossed out the window! Bring back the basics of pickup trucks. I will be looking at one of these in the future, generous motors can't touch these!
The Tundra is designed and built in Texas, what more American than that
It’s handsome, reliable, fast and doesn’t have too many electronics to break down and cost a fortune to fix. Love it! Just like a reliable workhorse should be. Plus that V8 sound cannot be replicated on any V6 engine.
You bought a truck based on sound?
Toyota are the slowest when it comes to redesign things, but one thing you have to admit is that their designs are all making sense.
It’s not that they’re slow on redesigns, it’s just that they don’t bother with the lower selling vehicles.
One thing I've learnt about Toyota while working on them is that while they are slow in implementing technologies into their vehicles they make sure its done right.
The tundra still looks better imo than the others
Yep. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Cheaper Toyota vehicles are most likely to be refresh and have new generations as fast as 3 years, but big vehicles, vehicles meant to last, yes.
The only thing Ford and Chevy need is to make their cars last 300,000 miles or more. You can't go wrong with the Toyota.
Juan Navarro They already have, and pretty sure they still do.
Let’s hope Toyota can make their frames last more than 10,000 miles. Plus the Tundra engine is complete unreliable garbage.
Robert Fernandez have u ever driven a tundra? I'm sure a tundra can out last anything. I've seen tundra with 500,000 miles, and still look like new.
Juan Navarro 500,000 lol damn you are naive. Tundra is plagued with issues, fact. Worst selling full size truck in America.
Go to church and repent of what u just said.
You have one of those best objective and balanced reviews on TH-cam. Yet keeping calm and not loud and shouting at the viewers like some do. Great video. Great job well done !!!!
I bought the 2014 Crew Max TRD 4WD and the 5.7. It has been a great vehicle. I would buy quicker if it were Made in Japan.
This thing is a serious work horse. Definitely would pick this over the competition.
Mike Foehr I had my tundra rear main seal go out with only 30,000 miles on it. So don't try sell me on reliability bs!
I have owned 3 Toyota's now...compared to the big 3...way better quality
J.D. Power large light duty pickup reliability

Michael Barnes totally went out, or started leaking? Mine is leaking on my Silverado lol. I’ve never seen a vehicle out of service for it though.
benjaminwayneb you know that website is retarded, when the GMC and Chevy have the same power train, with different scores.
thank you for reviewing this tundra! I know its not everyone's favorite but glad to see your take on it.
I have a 2003 Tundra SR5 with the 4.7L V8 that we bought new. 175,000 miles, very few problems, all minor and inexpensive. I want to drive it till it really dies and then get a new tundra, but that may not happen for another 200,000, so that could be good or bad dependent on how you look at it
I have a 2005 Sequoia Limited 4WD,
The first car I bought brand new, from all road trips from Houston to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Ontario, Mexico City, my hometown of Huetamo, Michoacán in Southern Mexico 😂
Drove through flood waters during Hurricane Harvey and the rough land in Mexico without hesitation
At 350,000, My leather is chewed up and dry, my paint is fucked, my 4WD system is messed up cause I neglected it, ABS & Traction Lights are on, and that’s about it , original engine and transmission, the rear air suspension and compressor still work, every time I turn the key I have no doubt that it’s gonna turn on
Im thinking about “downsizing” to the Tundra, or maybe risking it all and going for a Land Cruiser, but for now I’m still happy with my Sequoia 😂
Should be remodeled by then. SHOULD 🤣
Im glad toyota isnt going with all the new BS like bush button start and other things such as an lcd instrument cluster! People who buy this truck will be happy they did. All the extra electrical crap is just more things that will fail in the future. Keep it simple and traditional! I dont own a tundra but if i were to purchase a new truck, the tundra would be #1 on my list.
And it'll all be there once they redesign it, they just are slow with their trucks getting redone.
It already has a touch screen and a gauge screen, might as well actually make them good
I always loved the 1794. I currently own a 2017 Platinum Pro Supercharged Tundra and i couldnt be happier. My 5th Tundra 👍🏼
Nice how is the mpg, i heard the the Tundras waste too much gas
Wolverine123 I also heard all trucks waste a lot of gas....
Alex Tran lmao true
How about the gas mileage? Think it’s my next truck, btw
Wildman lmao. The Toyota Tundra is more American then any Ford, Chevy or GM truck.
Excellent review. I love the sound of that V8 engine. My uncle has the previous generation with 300,000 plus miles and still going:)

Ryan Littleton for sure a king ranch will run 20-25k more. Crazy shit.
There is no reliability from the garbage Tundra engine, lol
Robert Fernandez If you're being serious you're an idiot.
Ryan Littleton Search for yourself. The Tundra is straight unreliable garbage. There is a reason it’s one of the worst selling trucks in America
Robert Fernandez If it's so bad why are you watching this?
I was a senior in 2007, so you are around 27-29. We're still young bud.
Erick Valdez My little brother graduated in 2007 and is 28 now. I'm old I graduated in 2000. 36 years old.
I have a 2016 tundra and I freaking love it.
I have a 2015 limited and I am very f... happy with my truck
RAM TRUCKS
Really???
What are you driving right now.
Dads truck????
Crappy dodge???
RAM TRUCKS i wonder if you’re unnecessarily biased, based on your name. Ram makes the least reliable and least safe trucks in the whole market
I got 2012 limited n i love it too
I own two Tundras, a 2007 superchargered 5.7 SC that does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and a 2016 XSP-X DC and everything you griped about were legitimate complaints. In addition, everything you complimented on were spot on.
As usual, another excellent review, but seeing all of that condensation come out of the tailpipe as you revved it cold made me cringe.
In my opinion push start is just down right dumb and I'd prefer a physical key. But that's just me.
NoName I have both; I can say there's just something to turning a key that's so stimulating
They could add a dual push/physical key ignition system like Mercedes. Remove the button and there is a keyhole. Wouldn't add much of a cost either.
He means on the key there is no push button start
Jackem High must have missed that, I've seen multiple reviews of several vehicles not just trucks reviews, where the reviewer not so much complains really.. but is noting and kinda "scolding" that the car having a key still is "outdated" or something to that effect.

The gauges and key are new for 2018, the 14-17’s had a separate key from the remote
Chris McManus Thanks for clarifying that. We hadn’t had a chance to sample a 2017 model.
Made in San Antonio TX.. The Tundra is more American than the "American" Trucks... Beast of a V8 Truck
The Free Raven GM Trucks are also built in the US. But having something that was built in the US isn’t always a good thing.
Tundra is the iPhone of trucks...basic as hell but reliable and works. And like the iPhone, years overdue for a redesign. 4:30 rear end will guarantee you will never pass a gas station.

no Toyota isn't like iphone, more like Android. so it's basic, your basic.
Dark Raven Jr LOL, the hell are you talking about?
They are best-sellers for a reason

That exhaust is made so you spatter rich cougars like a boss
Just picked up my '18 . . . build quality is great to see in a full-size truck.
I'm old as Fuhh !!
DrinkMoWater I’m old gregg
Aye steezy is here!

Buy a Tundra if you want to be on the road as opposed to in the garage, getting fixed. Quality!
Egil Lomeland FORD Fix or repaired daily
I have friends with Fords, that had them all their lives and won't consider anything else, and continue to support the service department. I've has my Tundra for years, pulling 10,000 Lb boats, and it has only been to the dealer for regular service.
I have friends and family members with GM trucks and Ford Trucks with 300k+ mikes and have never had an issue, and actually has a nice interior
That exhaust clip though
Right? It sounded very nice.
I have the TRD dual exhaust. it sounds awesome.
Should have pushed the tow/haul button and then floored it! It turns into a rocket ship!
Redline Review releasing another masterpiece! iForce is way to go!!
Only as old as you feel. But yea I was in high school back then too
I did calculation, when I bought my 16 Silverado, I paid $2995 for extended warranty.
This + procomp long travel kit + magnuson supercharger + magnaflow exhaust = practical family MAN'S vehicle
BTW: Tundra did have a driver's side grab handle - Toyota REMOVED it to save them 2 pennies and piss off customers
one of the most reliable cars in the world and probably last the longest. it's the most driven cars here in Africa and the middle east. especially the Land Cruiser.
I can’t wait to buy the 1794 Edition, recently bought a new 4Runner Limited after its paid off , I need one of these!
Not sure about a crewmax but my double cab has smoked an ecoboost.
Thus is technically the most American truck for sale in America. Everything else has stuff from Mexico
Tech Defender ironic isn't it? The Japanese companies sell American made trucks and American companies sell Mexican made
Funny how Toyota is based in Japan but is the most American truck
Many parts in the 2018 Tundra have very easy to read "MADE IN MEXICO" labels attached to them especially under the hood. I kid thou not!
I’m perfectly fine with buying trucks with parts from Mexico.
Toyota's got my vote!
It sounds fantastic!
kachow! Most V8's sound fantastic
Thank you for the review, not a lot of people are interested in the Tundra. Well now l am more informed about my options ^_^
Toyota keeping cost down compared to the other competitors that's good I think
That interior seats thoo 🔥
#1 TRUCK IN THE WORLD BEST EVER
I just put a hold on this exact truck. Thanks so much for the review. And if I can flash ahead to 2021. I bought the Ford F150 xtl eco-boost about this time of this review. Today, it has 50k miles and I've just had drive train repairs. It was in the shop two weeks at different times. The f150 engine is garbage. My nephew bought the 2018 f150 and he also is having tons of engine issues from water pump on ... you name it. We're both unloading the f150. Do your homework before you buy a Ford.
I like it when Toyotas get thrown in the trash.
Every time I want to get a tundra, i look at the other trucks, and see how much Toyota needs to update it.
Agree. If not update it, they should lower the price.
Den V. compared to its competitors its cheaper then the rest of them a fully loaded f-150 can cost you nearly 80 grand for a 1500 meanwhile a fully loaded tundra is less then 60
ITS YA FATHA yeah i think not. paying 80k for a truck?
Jestin Varghese Then you should buy a sedan. Toyota trucks are not fancy but for people who want work trucks with reliability.
My 07 is still going strong with 156,000 miles. Excellent truck but it's in desperate need of an update.
The tundra is a American truck. It’s designed and built in the United States, that’s why it’s such a solid machine
Great review!!! Great video!!! Great job!!! Keep them coming!!!
In our country Pakistan pickup trucks like Toyota Tundra, ford raptor and Dodge Ram are given security guards.
J.D. Power large light duty pickup reliability
www.jdpower.com/ratings/study/2017-Vehicle-Dependability-Study/1882ENG/Large-Light-Duty-Pickup/1124
They do offer LED bed lighting, and a bed liner, and the roll down rear window is on all CrewMax models, not just Limited and up.
Dont worry about what other companies are doing, report the facts on the vehicle your reviewing. People will decide which they prefer. Facts are what’s important not opinions.
The gauge cluster was actually refreshed for 2018.
What a nice truck, I'm a Ford fan and I love that Toyota trucks!!!!
Reliable and simple is the way to go.
I love how he keeps referring to “Old/Outdated” but ask those Ram/Silverado/F-150 owners have they even smelled 150K worry/trouble free like the Yota?
You can have all the luxury you want, but hard to enjoy when it’s constantly in the shop for weeks on end.
3:48 wrong, the supercrew F150 has a 5.5 ft bed, the Ram crew cab has a 5.7 ft bed, and the full size GM crew trucks have an approximate 5.8 ft beds
Hate it when ppl say toyota needs to put more tech in the tundra. Toyota makes Lexus one of the worlds most luxurious car company out there. If toyota choose to they would easily put “more” tech in the tundra.
30minforasn They make work trucks not lifestyle trucks.
guys anybody who is review on trucks it don’t matter what kind is it , you shouldn’t spect fuel economy their are trucks not hybrids if you guys want some economy , go get a small car with good fuel economy ,, remember their are trucks they are thirsty for gas ...i am tired of hearing people talking about the fuel economy of trucks ,
Although most people want a full update, I see no need.
Great video! Great review! Great truck!
I have the 07 tundra limited with a super charger! Love it!
Other than that, it’s really a nice, comfortable, practical truck.... love it!
They need to put the 8-speed from the land cruiser in or the 10-speed from the LC500
The 6 speed is more reliable and durable then the fancy high geared transmissions. I'll take a few less mpg for reliability. They did it right, also don't forget gas prices are a scam and the government is responsible for having it dictated too these ridiculous numbers! If they were regulated better you wouldn't care about the loss in MPG
well, at least looks better than the Nissan Titan
I prefer the Titan over the Tundra. I've driven both and the Titan feels better imo. Granted I am a Nissan fan boy so it is biased.
The new Titan blows this truck out of the water
JC4 and the honda ridgeline
Check your vision, ain’t no way this truck look better than a 2017 Nissan Titan, no bed liner as a standard for the price,
Anything does
Big update? Even the top premium 1794 edition don't come with remote start, and requires use of key to lock tailgate. No Android Auto,no rear axle.locker. Price still same or more than competition.
Every truck I've owned I thought the easiest way to get into the bed was from the side using the rear tire as a step.
That water 💦 coming from the exhaust
Live Count Central it’s moist
Because the engine is new
Toyota went down to Texas, lookin’ for a truck to steal!
Exactly. The weekend warriors have ruined the truck market in America. They got fancier and bigger but poorer reliability.
As always very thorough and detailed review, thx SB! ;L)
Yes you will probably will spend a couple dollars more on gas with the Tundra in comparation with the F-150 BUT when the F-150 will start to age and breakdown ............................................................ You will regret not have buy the TUNDRA !
FACTS!
Just the Ecoboost. The 5.0 will run forever,
Starting to see more of these trucks on the road. I'd choose a Tundra 5.7 or the F-150 5.0 . GM, Dodge and Nissan trucks don't really interest me.
Legion Z
yeah, one peak at resale would keep me squarely in the Toyota camp
I’m just purchased my second Tundra here in Texas. I definitely see more of them this time around.
We have a 2012 Rock Warrior and my wife hit a deer with it. While it was in the shop they gave us a 2018 Silverado to drive. The driving dynamics of the Chevy were terrible! I was so glad to get our Tundra back.
There's no way that I'd ever go for a f150 5.0 with stop start! Stupid feature for sure!
The Tundra's styling apex was definitely the 2007 version. The current one just doesn't have that same impact as the scowling look of that 2007 (especially the top end models). Still a good looking truck though (and the interior is light years ahead of the 2007).
TSS-P has standard Lane Keep Assist. Also the power rear window is standard on every crewmax model
Shivam Patel No, the Tundra’s version does not include steering assist.
They actually did that this year with that 4.2TFT last year it was a smaller one, that one looks better than before.
Great truck!, I don't have words for Toyota. Keep it up!.
Great review! Toyota is working on a complete redesign for the Tundra right now.
Justamazon 33 yeah redesigns take a while
A person named Sam www.motortrend.com/news/toyota-to-update-body-on-frame-models-considers-hybrid-truck/
Just-a-mazin 33 so do you suggest i wait for the redesign or put down my 8k for a down deposit
If it is good enough, im trading my 17 laramie for a Redesign Tundra!
T100 was in production for 93-98. It was also a great truck
Where's ur cowboy hat uh
Trucks are designed to deliver high torque lower in the range, for towing and hauling, therefore it’s not necessary to redline them at every opportunity.
The Japanese make some pretty amazing cars but the big 3 have the full size pick up segment on lock
It's unfortunate you don't have the Hilux in the US.
D Tay unfortunately. If Toyota really wanted to be serious they need to update the tundra and 4runner.
Made in Texas
Thomas Christopher White Toyota sells the Tacoma here instead but yeah a diesel hulix would be nice here
Sadly, modern American trucks barely changed when it comes into reliability.
14:08 the V8 is dead in the tundra for 2022. The V8 got a nice exhaust note.
Just came across your channel - you have a talent that's for sure... - I would entertain the idea of buying a Toyota... if they ever released a diesel one ton..
I look forward to watching more of your videos
Nice interior. Half decided between Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan XD
This review represents what's wrong with trucks today. They are soft version of what trucks once were. I love my 2013 5.7 but honestly my old 1996 ram 1500 is my go-to truck. The toyota is just too big heavy and lacking ground clearance to get around the jobsite
I know this reply is late but that is why there is a TRD pro
Reliability on/off road and re-sale.... no other truck manufacturer can come even close to Toyota. I've owned a Denali, Dodge and Silverado and never looked back after buying my 2nd Tundra.
Really really nice review man.
I absolutely love this truck.
