I bought an ST not long after watching the previous mk6 review.. Now around 5 months into ownership and I couldn't be happier! Loads of fun to drive about and being a musician I can still fit a full drum kit in the back! It's a real daily driver!
Had an 07 plate up until about 8 years ago. Loved the car, miss the car and I'm seriously contemplating getting another one. Always left me with a big ol' smile on my face after driving it. Just had an insurance quote of about £560, that's for a 42 year old who hasn't had a car for 8 years. The only thing I found expensive was they tyres, paid over £200 when the two front ones went as bald as I am. But a seriously great little car

ive owned two of these fiesta STs and they are by far the best cars ive had. sold the 1st one due to a new arrival in the family and daddies toy had to go. 2nd one is still in the household and going strong at 115,000 miles. upgraded to focus st225 but couldnt sell the fiesta so the other half took it on. but seriously a good car all round. fun and practical and sound amazing on full chat with a straight through. i enjoyed watching that review, well done!
Loved my ST. Had a custom exhaust so popped and banged quite nicely. Did not cause me any trouble at all in the years I had it now I sold it to my mate who still has it. It's been round Cadwell park, up pod and driven generally pretty hard, passed 100k now and it has never gone wrong. Gotta say it's a 2 litre duratec engine though not a zetec engine. Mine had similar mods and dynod about 166 if I remember correctly but the mods just free it up. Definitely recommend these cars.
What backbox where you running?
I've got one of these remapped to 170 brake, such a sweet car awesome to drive and so much fun
I'm in Australia, age 21, and currently, drive a Mk 6 fiesta Lx. Was actually looking for upgrade parts but they're not as easy to get unless you ship them over from the UK. Can confirm it's a very very good first car. Interior is almost identical to the ST in this video, minus the badging + embroidery. You can also get a lot out of it's 1.6 so I haven't had a need to upgrade to an ST yet.
Got 1.4 LX Mk6 not bad lil car went from 1.8 focus MK1 but needs lil work done but everything is like poundworld cheap 😅
I came close to getting this generation Fiesta ST but the 2.0 litre put me off (insurance) and the dash just looked too dated for me. It does make a nice noise though, better than my Ibiza FR! Ford certainly knows how to make a decent hot hatch!
bought the fiesta mk6 ST yesterday, what this guy says is true. the car is great, it drives great it sounds great.
sadly my coolant hose popped after 3 hours of purchase.
but i am fixing that right away and i hope i can drive this car for a few years without problems but time will tell.
if you want a car that drives good and is faster then the normal cars these days, i agree that you should really consider about buying this one.
All the older cars are more driver cars.

Duratec is basically a 'rebranded' zetec engine.. Essentially the same just different looks.
Tonke Hack No, however the focus st170 have a re-branded zetec, claiming to be a duratec. The engine in this one is a true duratec.

I had a zetec S one of these when I was 18, fun little cars although the ST doesn't give a lot more power for the price, still great little cars and sound nice with some little mods ! Can be made very nice for little money! Great video keep it up :)
A recent dream of mine to own one of these, they are superb little hot hatches. That front spliter should've been a standard feature!
I'm 19 and just insured one of these for around £900. Biggest drawback I find is the 5 speed box. When you get up to 50/60 at 3K RPM you just wish you could pull back on the stick into a 6th gear. Pretty frustrating. Other than that fantastic little motor.
A friend of mine has a 2014 Fez ST with a 6 speed, it's a lot tamer at that speed than mine for sure.

I'm 18 and looking to trade my current car for an ST150 in the next year and I'm just wondering, how did you get the insurance that low when things like insurers are taken in to account?
@@Icemann336 some insurers I've heard are good is sky insurance, Adrian flux and Green light. Sadly the big factor is location, age and Ncb. I'm being quoted £1200 for one next year when I have 4 years NC and when I'm 21. The year after that I've been quoted £999. If I was to look at an ST I'd say check there is no rattling from the cam chain, gears go in nicely and check the power steering fluid to see if its not boiled
Im paying £960 currently for my mk6 fiesta zetec s 1.6 TDCi. Only reason I'm thinking of changing in the next year or so is the London mayor is setting up a charge in London for older diesel cars so that forces me to get rid of my car 😭

i had one of these when it was only 2 years old and it broke so often i got sick of it and sold it. It had only done 22 thousand and had to have a new starter,alternator, and loads of other stuff. Best thing about the car was the heated seats and windscreen.

I loved my MK6.5 ST, absolutely cracking car, very fun on country roads! I do miss it although I love my 370z which is hilarious how they appeared on your channel to!
Highly recommend the MK6.5 ST though, just be careful as some use a lot of oil, some have been abused for obvious reasons and fuel due to it only having 5 gears isn't great (Some people only get 28/32mpg, I was lucky mine seemed to get 38/40mpg). I didn't have the heated seats which I wish I had! Great car though, excellent video Jamie!

@@Daniel-om9dr just look around, the majority will have a mod or two, but sometimes they're good mods that you'd do yourself anyway

21 years old, just passed my test & got an 06 st for £1800 and £1650 insurance, great car to drive

I sold mine a couple months ago and got a mk7 1litre ecoboost, the mk7 is a great car but god I miss the feel of the St on the road, such a chuckable car!

I've had one of these for 2 years now, left it stock as its not to bad as it is, going for a stage 1 remap in the coming months just to try and freshen the car up a bit

I had one, only problem was aux belt tensioner needed replaced, great car for younger drivers

Drove a Zetec S which got me into fast fords - went and bought the ST (CP08 XHO - where are you now?) and absolutely loved it. Would have another in a heart beat
Still got mine in Australia, always fun to blast around in. Not the quickest car in a straight line, but makes up for it in the corners.
Avrilcadabra in the UK there more than fast enough. The only thing we have that's close to your big straight roads is our motorway's.
yeah, still got mine. So uncommon here. got ceramic coated milltek 4-1, sport cat, custom catback, mfactory lsd, koni shocks, h&r springs, pumaspeed tune, vibratechnic engine mount, remote ps cooler. Lot of mods to end up with a car thats on par with an mk7 ST, I love it though. We do have some insane deserted mountain roads here, as well as the great ocean rd that was kinda in forza horizon 3. It's pretty good for blasting around the city too
Had mine 4 years white with factory stripes only bought it for a giggle wrong side of 40 cant seem to sell it should do running costs and tax high
But the smile when it pops and bangs😁 sold my xr2s in the 90s mistake gonna try to hold on to it as long as I can still turns heads for the lower end st.
I've just bought a Panther black, serviced 56 thou, unmodified 07 plate one and it's simply gorgeous, great to drive, no modifications and I'm not gonna bother, I definitely would not lower it, not with our roads and speed bumps, I've done a bit to her.....new front and rear wiper arms/blades, rear high level stop light, number plate lights, exhaust rubbers, battery tray, NGK laser iridium spark plugs, Mintex pads and discs all round, Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres......oh, a new expansion tank as well, I will do the water pump and drive belt in the summer, I should have bought this car years ago, it's great fun, anyone umming and arring over whether to buy one.......just do it.
Whats your thoughts on it after 6 months ownership? I have a mk6 fiesta zetec s 1.6 diesel and love how it corners with the stiff suspension. You did some nice discreet upgrades on it 👍. Only thing which puts me off the ST is running costs plus I could get around the same or even more power out the diesel engine with tuning and bolt on mods
I've owned a Mk5 Zetec S for nearly 10 years and looking to get one of these soon hopefully - really looking forward to it

I went for a Citroën C2 VTS instead of the Ford Fiesta ST, because in Denmark the ST's really hold their value very well.
- I got my 2007 C2 VTS with 90,000km (56,000 miles) on the clock for less than a 2005 Fiesta ST with 200,000km (120,000 miles).
The Citroën is, on paper, as fast as the Ford, even though it is only a 1.6l with 123 BHP compared to the 2.0l with 150 BHP.
My friend had both of these cars. Sorry m8, Ford is on another level.
yes jamie, ive got an STmk6 '07 blue...Done the exhaust/sports cat/air filter might go manifold+front pipe next. Looks nice lowered to. I like the car all round very much going to keep it for a few years yet. just a few rattles and no 6th gear are the downside.

I own a Colorado Red ST150. Great little car, but does have a couple of bad points... Still gears and no synchro in reverse means it crunches unless you go into 3rd before hand.. Mines an 06 plate and has done 66,000 miles. Paid £3,500. A tad expensive I know. Great review mate👌🏻

Put into 1st first and then into reverse , no problem.
Love mine, but the MPG is hideous. People won't bother stealing because they'll need to stop for fuel - so thats a plus.
love this car had to zetec s's and just got my second ST but this one is now gutted and tuned and made stronger for a track toy

Jamie you reviewed my ST about a year ago... CE55 LXP blue one.... they are known for drinking a lot of oil and if not watched will spin the bottom end bearings.... other than that can't fault it!
Great video Jamie. Love the ST fiesta, my first car and I use now as a daily. Never let me down and it sits proudly alongside my white mk2 RS focus.

This (Fiesta st from around 2006) or a Golf IV Gti (from around 2002)
Both have 150 hp
Both are hatchs
Both are really fun cars for new drivers
However, dunno what to choose. The golf may be more reliable, have cheaper upgrades, but the ford is not as old, may be better equiped for daily driving, and is lighter (wich gives a better relation between weight and hp)
I have a petrol mk6 Zetec s, had it over 5 years now and love it, full milltek exhaust, decat, weitec coilovers and few other bits. What I'd like is for you to get your hands on a tuned zetec s diesel, as everyone raves they are better than the st. I just want to see a unbiased review :)

@Freddy - Not yet, I wanted to get it cleaned up before having it readily available ... which I've pretty much done now. I'll probably put it on the local sites like WightBay and Facebook. Not had any luck with AutoTrader before, and it costs to list things.

nice video, but i wouldnt agree on a few things. a friend of mine owns a stock 2006 st since 2008 with now 220000 km on it in (german version, dont know how it differs from the uk version) i drove about 6k km in it. still runs perfect btw. but there are only 3 flaws i have with the car. the seats are okay but u sit way to high. especially the heating is awful: after a while it gets way to hot and it is only on/off. 3rd problem is the interior quality.
but i love it. its an awesome car especially if u like to drive curvy roads. its not realy fast but it feels fast, if u consider the price its just awesome.

It's actually ridiculous how much the insurance is over here in Ireland. I'm 20, paying €1900 - roughly £1500, for an 06 Swift 1.3 with a telematics device limited to 8000km. To even get a reasonable price on one of these for insurance need to be driving at least a couple of years... UK is much more reasonable. It's a shame one like this went up for around €3500 euro when buying the swift but wouldn't get insured.

had a fiesta mk6 1.4 and put the st body kit on, really wanted the st but insurance was quoting 3000 with a black box, 4500 without one so just went and opted for the corsa sri 1.6t 150bhp as it was 2900 without a box, pulls an awful lot soon as the turbo kicks in and makes some amazing noises with the pipercross cone filter! remap takes it straight to 200bhp

The Power Steering Pump is a problem on the MK6 ST.

Pingman some of them came with a blue dash as an option. The zetec s you can get a red dash as an option.
xxBOUNTYxxHUNTER There is an option on the ST for climate control 👌 I've got it with full leather heated seats, the heated front screen and climate control - yes the plastics aren't the best quality but put together well enough and a great car overall!
I own one what a cracking car bought it when I was 18
Never really liked the look of this model of fiesta, which i call the "bubble fiesta". I think my main issue with them is they are along the same lines as corsa's... every single young guy wants either a corsa or a fiesta, and i know its cause they are cheap and so on but ive never really liked them. But i have to say, this one here is absolutely beautiful. Love the look of it really well done to the owner
