- This really reminds me of the early days of mobile phone gaming. We just need that incredibly simple dice game that had pictures of dragons and wizards and stuff.

"No matter how hard you jump, you'll never reach the sky."
Good God, that stings.
Wow, the Steam Deck looks awesome
Huh?
Are you okay?! this is not a steam deck! 😭
@@samholdsworth420 it's a joke lmao
I laughed far too loudly at the screen sticker adhering to the couch.
I was thinking the exact same thing XD
Grrrre don't disrespect the sofa
I love how Stuart just goes "eurgh!" when he sees the Yakuuken kid
the sticker sticking to the sofa amused me more than it should have
This XD
Thank you for pointing that out, I wouldv
e never noticed!
"Hard Win" sounds like a 70s porno movie
Thanks for a TH-cam comment I genuinely laughed at. I like your sense of humor ;).
Sp00ch123
Haha, I stole that joke from Ashens ;)
Oh, I hadn't reached that part yet..... Awkwaaaaaard.
Sp00ch123
I stole it from this classic video of his:
25 ZX Spectrum Games That Sound Like Seventies Porno Movies
Oh, so it's not a line from this video I missed. Also thanks for the vid, I'm gonna watch it now.
It's got a lanyard holder so that when you go back to the 80s no one can steal it from you because of the amazing graphics
For the Chef Excellence at the end, I was half expecting the last image to fade into the one of the chef from the Kitchen War game...
Lexibook being a hipster, not having a headphone jack before it was cool
GBA SP too
@@leafyisherearchive4484 WonderSawn says bitch please.
"Yakyuuken" means "baseball fist" in Japanese.
Not... sure what that has to do with first-person rock-paper-scissors, but okay.
+bitwize They probably meant Janken which is Japanese for rock-paper-scissors.
+Sal Cusmano I did some digging. It turns out that "yakyuuken" means *strip* rock-paper-scissors. It started off as a Japanese baseball cheerleading dance, which then became a rock-paper-scissors game. Then one of those wacky Japanese game shows added a strip variant, and now it's recognized as strip RPS. Which just makes calling that minigame "yakyuuken" even weirder.
bitwize Really? Oh, Japan you are a one.
Thing is, lexibook is french, which just makes this more confusing
Fun Fact: The background used in Spring Bros is blatently stolen from Super Mario World for the SNES
another fun fact. your picture is digimon. therefore i like u
19:07 Are those three bongs?
Throw the ring on the bong attraction at the weed fair!!!!
*Has 3 buttons*
*2 of the buttons demolish the idea of ergonomics and makes the system unwieldy*
*Uses one button for every game*
Deodragoon S
That's satania
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that it has a B button but no A button?
I noticed that as well, haha
The A button is the "extra" button on top of the console.
usohachi the A button is on top! of the little lexibook arcade
But does have a button. It's right there.
Ninja Yoshi r/wooosh
I found it really pleasing how the sticker from the screen stuck perfectly to the back of the sofa.
4 of those Games are actually, Game & Watch games.
I actually have the Donkey Kong 3 G&W. It has two controllers, and is the inspiration for "Baby Arms."
Ashens makes pointing cameras at games look cool.
that carrot game actually looked like fun:D
+Pudding there's a flash game called happy pill. it's basically the same
That was an excellent outro.

Like if this helped you
why
Some people will like it because it can help people find a game that sounds vaugeley cool.
TheIronGAMING I... I just... Seek help
Kirill Podzorov Why?
TheIronGAMING - GFX & Gaming! but none of the games sound cool. this is a mock video, not a genuine review
"Yeah you knock the other one into the sky where he will doubtless die on impact" one of ashens's best lines.
Morra is a weird Italian version of rock/paper/scissors except with numbers and screaming.
Source: i have Italian-american friends who play it all the time.
I remember the first appearance of Chef Excellence. That was a funny video, I laughed through the entire one. Best part was I found a Mr. T sponsored vegetable steamer the next day at a Zellers.
omg that rock paper scissors game was pucca! aw that brings back some memories
I got one of these while on a business conference trip..i forgot my DS O_o..LOL keped me from going mad in a hotel room for only $12 bux..
If only Jack Torrance had had a Lexibook Arcade Centre...
12 dollars bucks is a good price
The sprites from the Morra game remind me of a slightly old cartoon used to watch a lot called Pucca.
Excellent! It's one of those nights where a short Ashen's video just won't suffice. How serendipitous you incredible human!
I shall forever have that Mr. Runner music in my head forever now lol
I think you've broken me, Stuart. All I can to this thing, after hours of pop-station reviews you've made, is that it looks alright, actually.
19:08 Im surprised he missed the fact that the towers are actually bongs filled with gumdrops.
This thing is SO much better than the shitty pop stations he's reviewed.
I like how Chef Excellence is turning more and more Italian.
22:39 "An Excellent Photobomb"
Better than pop station
1:50 i found it hilarious how the cover sticked to the sofa.
The Spring Bros background was from fucking Super Mario World. I can't even...
The Russian instructions on the back of this thing are a crime against humanity.
It's literally just a meaningless bunch of Russian-ish & Ukranian-ish words (some non-existing words included), put together in English word order and, for some reason, with German morphology.
That's because it's Bulgarian…
No, that's clearly a Bulgarian flag. The Russian flag has white, blue and red colors, the Bulgarian one has green in lieu of blue. Are you colorblind?
You know...i actually work on mobile phone games (good ones, not this crap) and i bet if a major company was to release some of these they'd still get 100,000 downloads in under 48 hours -_-
I love your vids so much ashens.
Without them I would in a straight forward sarcastically empty world.
Thanks mate :D
Love the videos Ashens, thanks.
Modern version of Action 52.
+CaptmagiKono Except not quite as shit. Still shit but not AS shit.
It bloody well is not. I don't think you fully appreciate the horror of Action 52, if you go on and compare this to it. A52 was the first game my parents ever bought me, (after SMB/DH-cart that came with the system) so for the next year or so I was stuck with only Mario, Duck Hunt and Action 52. Believe me when I tell you that I would've cried tears of joy to have something like this back then.
Your parents bought you a $200 game?! ...Even if it was Action 52, I envy you...
It was about 1994 when I got it. I'm sure it didn't cost much more than a regular game at that point.
Altough even the regular Nes-games were super expensive at the time. I'm from Finland and we had marks as currency back then, but in today's money, taking to account the inflation, a Nes game would be about 110€/120$. That's insane!
what does the end say. its there for like a split second with chef exelent
an excellent photobomb
Man,all are (or most) of these games are either.
1. Game and watch styled games
2. They are game and watch games but with different sprites like with spring bros.
"An Excellent Photobomb"

"Its like Pokemon Snap for people with no imagination."
So its Pokemon Snap then?
Steve Perrin XD
ecks dee
Pokémon Snap was great
Stone, sheet, clippers...
That frog game looks like the kind of puzzle that sometimes shows up in adventure and RPG games, but that no one ever enjoys.
Wow its chicken pika!
My dad gave me one of these for Christmas last year (it was one of those rewards you get when you accumulate a certain number of points on your credit card).
As soon as I laid eyes upon it, I took to calling it a _Pop Station_.
An excellent photobomb
murra is a parody of a disney cartoon called pucca
+Dewa Widjayanto (RadenMass) It wasn't Disney's though.
It's always perplexing to hear those same exact themes reused over and over from any kind of plug n play. Most famous from the "Take a Smile" game, or "Closed Shell". No matter which plug n play game of 8 bit games you encounter, it is bound to have overused music borrowed into the games more than once.
I have a Finding Dory version of this. It has 150 games on it but it also features most of the games seen in this video.
you can get the lexibook arcade centre with 60 games too
I have one with 200
Lucky you.
ZC-Infinity I have one with 420 😎 get on my level
For some reason Ashens reminds me of a English Alchestbreach... Anyone else?
Oh my god yes!
That Chef execllence at the end gives me the willies
This could actually keep me busy during a long car trip
Might as well just emulate actual games on your phone or PSP or whatnot XD
LOL yakyuuken was so funny XD 15;50
Alex Las I'll get you the link to that part: 15:50
K Thx
The rock-paper-scissors game was a rip-off of the TV show named Pucca. Anyone remember that one?
+Connor Girard I knew I saw something similar to that show, mostly because of the art style the Lexibook game used.
thank you so much for reminding me of that show
22:28
That's the Chef Excellence that's going to be in "Quest for the Game Child"!!!
I saw one 2 days ago in a discount in Germany. However it was "200 Games".
Yiff in hell, furfag.
SagBobet
Alrighty then =3 wanna join?
SagBobet Still better than the my little pony hipsters, aka phronies.
He think you are a furry.
scripss shut up bigot
12:36
That is a ripoff of Pucca,a character made in Korea.
And and an awesome cartoon show we had back in the 00's.
12:36
It was Korean? I didn't realise that.
I was intrigued by that, and there was a comic on DeviantArt I was following a couple of years ago, I need to see if I can find that. I was actually intrigued by the storyline.
After watching this at least 10 times since it's release, I just realized you stack the rings in MOVE IT on bongs.
"Stack the rings in MOVE IT on bongs?"
You've been reading too many of those crappy Chinese translations.
scripss They do get into your head. Kinda like rhyming it sort of morphs your ability to comprehend words temporarily.
Oda Swifteye Nah man, just take a look closer. It really is a bong pipe.
Actually almost died of laughter when Ashens said "This is sucking all sorts of ass"
13:09
Ashens: Who's gonna win,
Ashens: Who's gonna care.
(Girl: This game of rock paper scissors is our love. This game of rock paper scissors is our life. Whoever loses gets whacked into the sunset.
Boy: Ok. Got it.
Girl: (rock paper scissors) ROCK!
Boy: SCISSORS! OW! NOT AG...)
Ashens: Kind of looks like a painted egg on the right.
Ashens: You win.
(Girl: BYE FOREVER!!!!! (silenty says in brain "I never even liked you -9000000000000000.'')
Boy: (laughing all the way says WwWwWhy?)
Ashens: And.. yeah. You knock the other one off into the sky where he'll doubt he'll die of impact. Wow. What a astonishlngy violent little weirdness of a game that was.
The "Morra" of the story is.... NEVER PLAY ROCK PAPER SCISSORS WITH MALLETS.
(see what I did there)
no, i just think you're an idiot.
Garen Crownguard Why?
TheIronGAMING - GFX & Gaming! do you really need an answer to that
somekindoflandcow Lol
Why are gasoline containers green in England? Is that supposed to teach people that burning gasoline is eco-friendly?
+yottskry12 I watch PhotonicInduction, and he lives in Norfolk, England. He uses petrol containers on numerous occasions, and they are always green plastic, square containers with a spout. Ours are red here in the USA. Yellow is for diesel, and blue is for kerosene.
***** You can put whatever you want in ours too, but the front of the blue plastic container says "DANGER: FLAMMABLE! CONTAINS KEROSENE" or something like that. It's more of a recommendation. All of them are made of High-Density Polyethylene plastic, so it doesn't matter.
One color we don't have is green!
+SouthwesternEagle The colours do have meaning here, green is unleaded, read is 4* (leaded) and black is diesel .
Liam Dowling I sincerely hope no one uses Leaded gasoline today! :(
The effects of it on the brain and nervous system are horrible.
Why are yours red? Is that because you think it makes them go faster?
Every time everytime I want a ashens video it pops up in my sub box
12:19 OMG, Pucca was on this console.
that rock paper scissor game is stolen from a show called Pura. wow wee no shame in these things.
*pucca
dam auto correct reamed me... sorry bout that.
Oh yeah, I remember when Jetix UK used to air that
morra = pucca rip-off
Arin Jäger good so I'm not the only one
Arin Jäger thank god i’m not the only one
9:20 reminds me of the photo racing mini game from rhythm heaven for ds. I think it uses the same car sound effect, too.
Ooo I see now chef excellence have been high definition quality!!!
I love the accent he puts on when playing Hard Win. "Occasionally you'll have fun. No, wait, I'm lying."
One of his best lines in a long time
I remember buying something like this at a walgreens. I don't remember what it was called, but it was one of those plug in and play tv games, where the hardware was like a pseudo nes, but featured all original games. One of them was called Elfland (I think ashens showed that specific one, actually. Just goes to show how far these cheap knock-offs will go). I also remember there was a duck hunt clone, and some weird learning penguin game that stole the sprites from what I later found out to be called Yume Penguin Monogatari.
I wish I'd kept it. It was really weird.
is no-one gonna point out the fact he perfectly threw the sticker onto the side of the sofa
2:27. It seems Dr. Ashens is channeling his inner Dr. T.
I lost this beautiful thing im still looking for it
I remember having something like this with some of the same games.
That ending.. So.. Excellent!
7:57 is that Hello Kitty without a face?!
What?
Action 52 is evolving!
...
Congratulations! Your Action 52 evolved into Lexibook Arcade Centre!
The rock paper scissors game pulled characters from a Cartoon show called Pucca. The girl on the left is the eponymous Pucca, and the man on the right is her love interest, the ninja Garu.
Are we ignoring the fact that "move it" is towers of hanoi with bongs?
Yeah you knock your opponent into the sky where he will doubtless die on impact. That has to be in the top 10 of ashens's best quotes
You sir, are my hero. That is all.
Those games looked pretty good actually, I was surprised!!
I remember these being released for christmas market and then tons of em appearing in flea markets and such just after the holidays.
the game is also completely different
you run while the ceiling occasionally comes down to the floor with a few pockets to not be squished are, you try to run as far as you can avoiding being squashed by controlling your guys speed(slow, normal, fast)
I really like the design of the handheld, even if the tactile feeling might be awful.
Thank you ashens
Pretty sure that the other game he's talking about while playing the plants vs zombies thing is Scorched Earth. Bloody good game, you control a tank and adjust your barrel to shoot at the other tanks. Bunch of different weapons and customization bits. Very nice game, I'd definitely give it a go through whatever dos emulator you've got. This is ashens' channel, I assume everyone here has a dos emulator.
12:24 Those are actually characters from a show called Pucca that was on the one Disney channel a few years ago.
The three faces of excellence. Bless.
Wow new Classical Class bit for the morning journey in
You have left me with an undeniable urge to raise that lexibook into the sky with one hand. And then thrust it into the concrete with ungodly force. While the incongruent shards of inferior plastic rain down around me only then will the curse of the lexibook be lifted. or something.
There's a reason the graphic style in the Rock, Paper, Scissors game is interesting/sort of nice. It's a ripoff of a franchise called Pucca. She's a South Korean cartoon character that's often used in ways similar to Hello Kitty. The character on the left in red looks like her, and the one on the right in yellow looks the love interest Garu. Just Google Pucca and you'll see what I mean.
Does anybody know what is the title of the orchestra song at the end? I've been looking for it my whole life
chef excellence's excellence decreases with each incarnation
This reminds me of Action 52 so much.
