    don't buy mitsubishi...i've owned two and they breaks down all the time. bought them brand new with 10 year warranty. They won't fix them under the warranty....it's a sham...you'll need to spend your money on lawyers to have these guys fix their garbage. I've lost soo much sleep and money over this situation. Don't be me.

    Drove it a couple weeks ago. Never drove a PHEV before. Wish there was more HP. But once up to speed it seemed stable and planted. Good amount of room inside but the interior seems a bit cheap compared to the Kia Sorrento SX.

      They aren't going for the luxury angle on this vehicle but more about good quality with practical appointments, good pricing and great fuel economy. Thanks for the comment!

      Eric Novak The Sorrento SX isn't luxury, but the Outlander PHEV costs just as much and it feels noticeably cheaper, loses the third row, and is slower. It's cognitive dissonance I just can't quite get over. Still hoping for eco technology with less compromise. Also, being the only SUV/PHEV/AWD on the market at this price point, it's kind of like being an Aussie winning a speed skating match because someone took out the leaders in the pack 🤣

      I wasn't trying to imply that the Sorento represents luxury per se, but that the Outlander wasn't necessarily making apologies for the fit and finish of its interior. The price similarities between the two are attributable to the different technologies with the powertrain. I too lament the loss of the third row as there aren't enough PHEV or EV options for those with larger vehicle capacity needs. That all said, one can look at this as a glass half full or half empty situation. More choice is indeed coming so for now I'll see this as half full and will wait with eagerness to see what comes next to bring the glass full to the top.

    Saw this in person. Good looking SUV.

    Sure, they made "enhancements". Now they can sell a vehicle from 2014 as a 2018.

    I think you got the towing capacity wrong: 1500kg is the correct value, you typed 1500 lbs.

      René Gerritsen It cant tow 1500kg only 1500lbs.

      It's different in North America from the European spec. Not because the car is different, but because of local laws.
      In Europe the speed limits while towing and maximum tongue weight are different (lower), but towing capacity is higher.
      So for Europe you are right, but this is for North America where it was just introduced. 5 years after the introduction in the Netherlands.

    Can you film and show us a PHEV doing a 45deg or diagonal slip test where the awc should be
    'cutting in' and applying breaks to the slipping wheels thus transferring power to traction wheels, and also where if the front wheels loose traction there should be enough power on the real to maintain drive? like an up hill test.. I have the issue with my phev where I hung up both front tyres in the air (spinning) while turning around on a dry bush track and even though both back wheels were firmly planted on the ground BUT there was no power to them to even make one of them spin!!...yes, I maintained acceleration for the AWC to cut in AND I tried traction on/off & 4wd was definitely on. Mitsubishi definitely needs to have a look at this issue!

    Intro too long, slow pointless pan shots, too much fluff.

      My point is just that I want the relevant information quicker and tighter. Sorry for the tone, eh.

      Fair enough. Every reviewer tends to have their own style. I've always been more of a long form guy, even in my writing and this carries over. Hopefully you'll find other channels that provide more concise content but stop by anytime!

    On an EV, I prefer a digital speed readout, rather than analogue.

    • @Trades46
      @Trades46 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I rather a analogue gauge. I think most folks too - even all digital dashboards these days still retain the function of...guess what, digital needles on a round speedometer & tachometer. Humans are analogue creatures & when you're doing something as focus intensive as driving, the less distraction the better. Hear that Tesla?

    Why brag about a 25 minute level 3 charge time, when that charge only gets you 22 miles in "EV Mode"... that's 22 minutes of driving!!!

    • @TheNovakReport
      @TheNovakReport  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's noteworthy because that would be faster than any other PHEV on the market at the moment. It's also a suitable time frame if you were using a Level 3 charger at a rest stop as it would be about the time needed for a coffee break, bathroom break, etc. Lastly the time frame you note would only be under pure highway driving situations under ideal conditions. I've had 22 miles of EV range extend to well over an hour of driving depending on the situation and also doesn't factor in any extended range that might be added through regenerative braking. Once the battery is depleted beyond where it can operate as an EV it simply converts to a hybrid and you can drive on for hours.

      no problem hitting 27miles in EVmode on this car,i own one

      Once the battery has depleted and its operating in hybrid mode what is the average mpg then? that's the number I'am interested in knowing.
