I totally agree with you regarding the random gray watercolour; the separation and granulation gets really exciting. Imagine weathered wood, rock formations, a cliff side shore on a stormy afternoon…or maybe Random Gray and I need our own little cottage in the Scottish Highlands. 😂 Oh, btw, do you still enjoy using airbrush medium with pastel to move the pigment (if you ranked airbrush medium, 70% rubbing alcohol, and water, would the medium be your fave?)

I'm with you on the little cottage in the Scottish Highlands--it seems like my kind of climate. However, I do hear that the midges get quite annoying in spring and summer. I haven't tried 70% rubbing alcohol, but I think with the other two, it just depends on what you are looking for. The water is nice, but not very permanent. The airbrush medium keeps their vibrant color and is more permanent than just water. If I were going to layer over pastels, the medium would be my first choice. If I'm feeling lazy water is my go to.
