very cool to find out an artist i've had on repeat for the past month uses reaper :> still very much a beginner in the program, so this was really useful to see how things are done in a genre that isn't the usual "tutorial rock" or whatever! do you use any guitar amp sims in reaper? I've been playing around with some and I can't seem to find one that sounds good :V

Hello! Not a huge fan of amp sims, I DI all my guitar through very very light overdrive/compression, I mainly play clean and I like how clean DI guitar sounds on top of synth stuff because cabinet simulation means you are also simulating a room and I think about signal vs acoustic recording a lot when it comes to instrumentation. I’ve been really into Bitwig studio’s amp sim because it’s a little bit more versatile than ableton’s or [insert amp model here] plugins. Reaper has a really good convolution plugin (reaverb) and I occasionally use it for impulses of acoustic guitar bodies if I’m doing DI guitar over room recording. Let me know if you have any questions about stuff! I am trying to make music with a TH-cam breakdown alongside it so maybe I can try to go over any questions that people have

@@babykaho1 interesting! i think i'm misunderstanding something but I'm a bit confused how bitwig's studio amp sim fits into the picture if you said earlier that generally you don't use amp sims? (or maybe you mean that you use bitwig during the rare cases where you do want a sim).
in terms of further questions for that video i'd be happy to hear more about the signal vs acoustic thought process you mentioned (or maybe there isn't a whole lot to say there, again i'm an absolute novice orz)
also if you have any tips or tricks re: chopping breaks n stuff in reaper that'd be cool to hear about, but if you feel like that ground has already been covered by other tutorials i totally get wanting to focus on somethin else.
thank you for the detailed response! hope you're having a nice day ^^
