Hello from Oregon, USA -- thank-you for the well-produced video of the Annapurna Sanctuary trek. 48 years ago, I lived and worked for 2 1/2 years in a Gurung village in the Mardi River Valley, about 7 hours NW of Pokhara on the SW slope of Machapuchare. During that era, Pokhara was still a small market town of just 26,000, and the entire region was roadless with all long-distance travel on well-used foot trails. Although travelers could trek up the Kali Gandaki to Jomsom, tourism and tourist infrastructure in the Annapurna Range was non-existent. On 2 occasions during my stay in the area, I travelled to the Annapurna Sanctuary with local Gurung shepherds from my village, sleeping outdoors and in Hinko Cave on the trek up, then constructing a bamboo and canvas shelter upon arriving at the Sanctuary where my companions would spend the next 2 months tending large numbers of sheep and goats. It's good to see healthy forests and prosperity for local people with tourism. Thanks again for bringing to mind an exciting and adventurous time in my life. New subscriber, and best wishes to you.
