Great episode. Hot topic, particularly in the USA now since Roe vs Wade overturned; each State is now writing their own abortion laws. What is now increasingly observable over there is that the pro-life groups that are influencing the new laws are not anti-abortion, but are in actual fact just pro-abortion with specific limits. As a result there is a growing abolitionist movement which is against any and all abortion based on fact all humans are equal, therefore there should be no exceptions/limits to abolition. Will be interesting to see if the movement makes it over the pond.
I’m conservative and I think if somebody’s pregnant and they know it’s going to seriously affect the Health and definitely the life of the mother and the resulting her dying carrying the baby, abortion is one of those things that weighs heavy on the moms mind and I know that because I’ve been there before because I got pregnant and I almost died with heart failure, but I didn’t know I was sick before I got pregnant and I have no idea I had lupus. I was going to the doctor every week because I was high risk, and my doctor kept trying to terminate the pregnancy for medical reasons when I was eight weeks pregnant and I wouldn’t and finally I dropped and collapse in her office and thank God for that because they just rushed me across the street to the hospital and I was exactly 11 weeks and five days pregnant and if they wouldn’t of done it, I would’ve died and I had two small children at home husband of course of the time. That was the worst thing that happened in my life for the longest time, and it just happened to be Valentine’s Day of all days !!! it was horrible because I can’t conscience briefly for about 20 seconds and I remember that heartbeat and it was so fast and so much stronger than mine but if I were gonna die, the baby would’ve died anyway. Even conservatives in America are not against people having abortions if they’ve been raped or even incest, but don’t talk to the people on the left about that because they think it’s free range and people should be able to have a board in anytime they want but I will say that about 50% of women do use some kind of birth control pill and they usually use that when they’re late so they would probably take it when they’re at least five or six weeks pregnant and that’s better than the alternative but right now those pills or being viewed in the cases under the Supreme Court in America to check in on the actual safety of them
