2017 Janke Award: Dr. Yufei Tang and Dr. James VanZwieten

In December 2015, FAU’s Center for Environmental Studies received a $1 million gift from Dr. Walter and Lalita Janke to establish the Walter and Lalita Janke Innovations in Sustainability Science Research Fund. For the last 4 years, this fund has awarded $200,000 to FAU faculty research that advances knowledge and applications relevant for improving environmental sustainability.
The 2017 Janke award was given to Dr. Yufei Tang, assistant professor in FAU’s Department of Computer & Electrical Engineering and Computer Science for his research on remote, networked, small-scale microgrids for resilient energy supply.
